A Man Called Otto (2022)
Was great til about halfway...
Great storyline, Tom Hanks delivers well and fills the role quite well. The character development is well-paced, not rushed, but also humorous enough throughout that it doesn't feel drawn out. Found myself laughing many times, as the situational happenings were quite funny even though you could pretty easily predict what was going to happen. Unfortunately, Hollywood does, what Hollywood does, and is forced to inject their identity ideology agenda about halfway, which derails the rest of the movie. Up until that point, this movie was going to get at least an 8 or a 9, though I did see many reviews praising the Swedish original, "A Man Called Ove". Maybe that one will spare us, and I'll be able to enjoy the second half without being propagandized at.
Wrong Place (2022)
Never imagined rating anything relating Bruce Willis like this...
It is impossible to imagine any production tied to Bruce Willis as poorly executed as this. Truly a sad day in cinema. There were high hopes when reading the synopsis, but this misses the mark in every aspect, acting, editing, writing, continuity, to the point I am hating to write such a negative review with anything connecting to Bruce, but this is truly painful to watch. Was looking forward to this, but there's no other option than to at least warn the next so that you don't have to endure this disaster. And luckily I've been part of collegiate productions and fil projects, decent ones, good ones, great ones - this "Wrong Place" fails catastrophically in comparison and would also be a "Wrong Watch". Save yourself. Skip this.
The Strays (2023)
Bukky Bakray? More like buk kake
What a waste of my lifetime. I will never get however long this excuse of a "film" back - it is the most annoying and frustrating thing to watch, no one has a backbone. The plot is flat and sinks even further when the house gets flooded. I wanted to run away like the Mom does twice about halfway through this horse manure. One positive outcome is that it makes a great case for the 2nd Amendment that the Brits don't have the luxury of enjoying. Skip over this pos. You'll be very glad that you read this review. You're welcome. I also encourage you to leave your frustrations here out to dry to save others the misfortune of torturing yourselves by watching this.
