The Shack (2017)
Sickeningly, squeaky clean
I'm atheist, but I do like consider myself open-minded, so I thought I'd give this one a shot. A film that's about making excuses for God and in doing so, makes the assumption therefore he must exist because all God is thinking and does is excusable and understandable. God reminded me of the Oracle in the Matrix. Possibly intentional. Totally unconvincing throughout. Christian logic says that God sees everything so he must've watched this movie. He might even write a review one day. It's a very well-made film Can't understand Sam Worthington a lot of the time he needs to project his voice a little more. If you are a Christian or indeed religious, it does very well in reaffirming those beliefs. In other words, if you're religious, certainly Christian, you'll probably like the film very much. I'm glad I watched it, but I would never watch it again, not even if it was a passport to heaven.
Nope (2022)
interesting but.
A very well well-made film very well thought out. Photography great. Hard to find fault with it other than the fact that the concept of the film is totally ridiculous. Somebody's ego definitely got the better of them. And it turns out that it wasn't as good as they imagined.
The Ledge (2022)
excellent
Never a dull moment. Loved the slow-moving photography. Don't be put off by the idiot reviews. This is a very entertaining movie. Unless you expect perfection you won't be disappointed.
Felon (2008)
masterpiece
This really is one of the best films I've ever seen. Truly gripping from start to finish which is one of my criteria as to whether not a film is good or bad. Even though it's possible to make many assumptions about this kind of film I was not let down by its quality.
X (2022)
fake audio.
Well-made film. No question - however the audio absolutely Stoved me in. The whole movie was fake audio. It was ridiculously obvious. . all audio sound was the same despite the situation that the actors were in.
Murder-Set-Pieces (2004)
Sick beyond belief
What is sick parents would allow their children to take part in this film. The poor baby in particular probably affected for the rest of its life. People that make films like this at school and should be wiped off the face of the Earth I couldn't watch it all and I do like horror movies.
Lucky (2020)
Real life stories told very well
I was very surprised with this film. An interesting take on what is portrayed as the underlying psychology and abuse that some women face on a day-to-day basis and how they deal with it subliminally.
Savaged (2013)
what a surprise
Stumbled on this by chance. A great surprise. I love revenge movies but this certainly is one with a difference. Just shows how you can make a great movie without a massive budget.
Rise of the Mummy (2021)
is this a C movie?
This is not a horror movie. Very predictable script. Poorly written for all the actors. Very poor acting. One of the worst movies I've ever watched. However, it's very entertaining if you like comedy and enjoy trying to predict the next line to be spoken.
Cargo (2017)
Good but Bad
I don't normally like zombie movies but this is a great film in many ways. What I thought was bad about it was the exploitation of that young child. That baby was genuinely distressed many times and I was appalled any parent would allow their child to be abused like this. I watched about a third of it and couldn't take anymore.
Nobody (2021)
Awesome.
Really enjoyed this movie. This really is Kickass - Pure alpha male fantasy. Totally engaged from start to finish.
The Ice Road (2021)
Great entertainment.
Truck drivers will laugh. The logic is very unbelievable. Couldn't happen in reality. It's not a documentary. It's a film. It's not real life. No big deal. Nobody goes to the toilet. Nobody needs to get a drink or eat. . It's just entertainment.
Accident (2017)
Not bad
Yeah okay there are lots of things wrong with this film. At least 50 things that couldn't happen in real life. Nevertheless I found it entertaining and certainly not the worst film I've ever seen. No film can be true to life unless it's a documentary. No one ever goes to the toilet in a James Bond film.
Lamb (2015)
Disturbing
On a production level this is a great movie well acted and compels the viewer to think and consider his or her own life and where they are with it. So in that sense it's a great movie. However the reality of it is a guy takes a child on a journey that should never of happened. It's very disturbing and makes me wonder about the mentality of the people that produced and acted in this movie.
These comments were made after I had watch the movie about halfway through. I'm almost at the end and this film. It's just an excuse to excuse Child abuse. This is a very clever film where the second-half justifies or attempts to justify the behaviour of the abuser.
The people that put this film together absolutely vile.
Alone (2020)
Great film
As usual another film where most people don't get it. Hey it's not real life folks - it's a film. If the plot was true to life then it wouldn't be a film because the things that happened wouldn't happen in real life. These things are for entertainment and that's all. If you wanna watch real life and feel that you don't want your intelligence questioned watch documentaries.
The Girl Next Door (2007)
Disturbing. Very disturbing.
Very well-made and gripping film. Probably the most disturbing film I've ever seen. Not least because it involves children. I've asked myself why the film needed to be made and I can only come to the conclusion that somebody had to do it - just like somebody had to climb Everest. Some of the actors probably needed counselling. One of those really good films that I wouldn't watch again. Once is enough.
Bajo cero (2021)
Well worth watching.
Don't believe the negative reviews. Just because a film isn't realistic in terms of what would happen in real life doesn't mean to say it's not a great movie. Good acting and well photographed. Okay - subject matter isn't original but neither are zombie movies.
The Reckoning (2020)
A great movie
Ignore all the negative comments. Yeah - the acting is not the best there's a lot of problems and faults in the movie. All that to one side -it's a great movie that gives a insight into what must've gone on in the hunt for and persecution of ordinary woman as witches. I live horror movies and this definitely wasn't one, but I wasn't disappointed.
Bloody Hell (2020)
What a Movie.
Loved it from start to finish. Kept me interested with unusual twists and turns. Some good humour. Definitely not a run of the mill film and lead actor was awesome. A film I know I'll watch again.
Matriarch (2018)
Disturbing and Dark
Not really a horror. A haunting story of a domineering personality and mental illness. Great acting. Low budget film that was spot in its objective. Poetry was awesome.
Unhinged (2020)
Gripping and tense
Thoroughly enjoyable film. Definitely worth watching. Many negatives saying unrealistic. Well yes - but if she didn't make so many bad choices there wouldn't be a film. It's not real life folks. Very well put together. Russell Crowe is great but acting in general is excellent.
