Underrated MasterPiece Of a forgotten Golden Era
4 October 2023
I'm not sure why they're are so many troll reviews of this on this site(look at the accounts) like 3 of them were made to downvote this show.

This hidden gem cameout during the end of the fox kid's life span so it's no wonder it's not as fondly as remembered but the quality of the show speaks for itself, First of this show LOOKS AMAZING has great animation some of the best you'll see for a tv production with some episodes almost being movie quality in fluidity. 2nd show is freaking hilarious man I wanna give a specific shoutout to the guy who voices wally walrus because is screams of agony rival tom from tom and jerry that sh! T had me dying of laughter. But yeah the 90's was chalked full of classic cartoons from the 40-50s getting new and innovation reinventions from the 90s casper cartoon to, batman tas, "Th New Woody Woodpecker Show" fits right in. Every character in this show is downright hilarious from woody's bum, freeloader attitude on life, to miss meanie's constant agonizing temper tantrums to Winnie's more sincere and cute demeanor, there's an episode where buzz buzzard scams her out of a car and she goes to court for it and it's hilarious. Buzzard was also voiced by Mark Hamil who just sound like a version of his joker voice. There was also woody's niece and nephew who appaeared in the comics, they remind of the the angry beavers(1997) little sisters who acted much the same way with there fascination on comics and adventure. Also this show is nothing like animanics or tiny toons not sure where that comparison came from not even the same style of writing, especially animanics which leaned more into satire and pop culture references galore, this show was not like that, just because a cartoon is wacky in the 90's doesn't mean its copying animanics or ren and stimpy wtf, woody is a golden age cartoon character that predates all of those those, if anything they're ripping of him. The New Woody the Woodpecker sticks closer the original shorts tone and humor wise which is what made it so great in the first place.

Keep in mind I just recently rewatched this show and hadn't seen it since it last aired on fox kids/abc family when I was a kid. It's been so long I know and this show like many 90s cartoons proved the creative strength of the medium before the tv animation industry hit the fan, you won't get cartoons like this anymore unfortunately a relic of a 2nd golden age that won't be forgotten.

Garbage Like the 2018 one Hack Writers are NOT fans of Castlevania
29 September 2023
Castlevania: Nocturne suffers from all the problems of the 2018 Castlevania series which was only good for 1 season and the rest of the seasons were poorly written. This season has all the same issues as the last. From forced race swapped characters that make no sense especially given the context of the time period to bad voice acting and made up characters, plot points completely changed from the games this is castlevania in name ONLY the characters and plots and setting have almost nothing to do with the game. Richter Belmont isn't even the main focus of the story he's a side character in his own story Just like castlevania 2018 the hack writers clearly wanted to make something else but used the "IP" of castlevania to put there politics and bad fanfic level writing in it. The fact konami keeps greenlitting this reddit tier trash to such a beloved franchise is proof castlevania is dead in the gutter. I wonder what that cancelled castlevania movie from a few years would've been like probably far more faithful than this trash. The animation is good but that's about the only positive which is still a negative in the grand scheme. Companies have got to stop shipping there ip's to netflix I fear the tomb raider announced anime will meet the same fate with how bad the square enix games were writing wise.

Awful The original is one of the Greatest cartoons ever made
11 September 2023
This is just awful the og tiny toons is one of the greatest cartoons ever made if not the greatest of the 90s with witty humor brilliant gags and a gigant cast of memorable characters. The fact it was the very first cartoon to use a higher animation cel count than any cartoon before it right at the starts of the 90s in 1990, Nobody understands how revolutionary the original cartoon was for instance when the direct to dvd film cameout that was originally supposed to be a theatrical release the film performed so well it erased the stigma of "bad direct to dvd" animation that it eventually inspired Disney to make the Aladdin dvd movie sequels that also did well and the countless others. With a legacy that great its almost impossible for a reboot of any kind to hope to achieve or come close to and this reboot fails, from bad stiff rigged animation that makes the visual Gags just look bland and off, the mediocre voice acting, the only character that sounded somewhat similar in personality was plucky Rip Joe Alaskey, but even then he still can't compare to joe. I heard this reboot was going in a more "serialized" approach to story telling which is dumb for a show based of a cartoon that was episodic but if you wanted to do that type of story should've just made a new ip I guess because of the Animanics reboot successes(another bad reboot) that they decided to bring back the sister series. What's next Histeria? Freakazoid? Just stop you can't recapture 90s greatness its not possible so don't bother, also why would you make babs buster siblings what purpose does that even serve? That's an instant deal breaker wtf.

MasterPiece

Look at all these crybabies in the review section LOL, The movie has good animation and art style is much better than the original, hell the original short wasn't particularity great it was carried by the timeless theme song, this on the other hand with it's superior art style looks and animates leagues better than the original. Bill Melendez partially directed this but I wouldn't say the art style is just his peanuts specials it's a tad bit different similar to his "Yes Virginia" There is a santa clause tv special back in the 1970s. This special is also funnier than the original, as in the original there wasn't much going on in the first place which is fine since that and this special are just animated derivative works of a song not much you can do with that concept but at least make it entertaining which this succeeds at.
