Get Out (2017)
A wonderful film
This film gets just about everything right. The story, the characters, the suspense, everything is done very well. The way suspense is made genuinley made me feel uncomfortable at times. This being Jordan Peele's first film goes to show he knows what he is doing. I look forward to future films, especially if they contain such unique messages of identity. Not only is this a good movie, but it is one you can think about after watching the film. It is interesting to pick apart some of the scenes and attempt to find what they symbolize. "Get Out" is a great movie that has a lot in the literal plot of the movie, and the subtext of messages lying within.
A Raisin in the Sun (2008)
Pretty Good Movie
A Raisin in the Sun covers several different topics involving race, and the topic of dreams as a whole. The plot is great with several great characters, and an overall interesting message. Kind of crazy to see John Stamos in this movie, especially seeing the role that he is playing. The film contains several gut wrenching moments in its plot that would generate sympathy from just about anyone, especially towards the end when the Walter loses some of the money due to shady investments. Though they are still able to move into the house considering the down payment was already payed and decide that this would be the best way to make a better life for all of them.
BlacKkKlansman (2018)
Great Movie
I enjoyed watching this film. The characters were compelling, especially considering that the film is based on true events. The acting is incredible, I especially like Adam Driver's character within the film. The issues covered within this film are timeless and speak to many of the issues we are having now in America. I especially enjoyed the moment of reflection the audience receives when the credits roll to montage clips of civil unrest. It really puts into perspective the issues still being relevant and that they have not simply gone away. Very enjoyable experience.
