Primal (2019)
Absolutely Fantastic!
Please PLEASE! Make more. So good.. Not even done with all the episodes, but I had to stop and beg for more. Superb storytelling without dialogue.. One of the best shows of the last few years.
101 Places to Party Before You Die (2022)
Best friends make a great show
Jon Gabrus & Adam Pally have that magic chemistry. And they are fun as hell. What a fun pilot episode. Love to see that High & Mighty podcast energy translate to the screen.
Shadow Wolf 4 Life!
T. H. A.
Moon Knight: The Goldfish Problem (2022)
F the haters!
What a fun pilot. And I'm old enough to have read the original Moon Knight comics. The changes are good. The original comics are a blatant Batman ripoff. I mean, sooo obvious. This is much better. The comedy worked. The blackouts were fun. It keeps you wanting to see more. Let's go Marvel!
No Chance (2020)
Ugh...
The only real deaths in this movie, were the career suicides of everyone involved..
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Thought it would be crap. Was GREAT!
Trailer left me underwhelmed 👉BUT👈 Here's why the trailer turned out to be a brave choicefrom the producers side: IT. DOESN'T. SPOIL. THE. MOVIE! Which every other movie of this genre does. I really loved that
And I watched this without being distracted by my phone. Impressive..
Most importantly: Once it turns into a monster movie, about 30 minutes in - IT'S A FRIGGIN MONSTER MOVIE! Lot's of action and gnarly creatures..
Really cool. Loved it.
Crawl (2019)
Holy it delivers!
I'm dead inside when it comes to horror. It takes a LOT to have an effect on me. Having seen horror since the days of Betamax (look it up kids). Crawl is creepy, terrifying, unnerving and well acted, with great effects. It put my hands to my face like a teenage girl several times. Cannit remember when that last happened. Great frikkin' movie!
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Surprisingly good
I saw Terminator (1984) in theaters as a kid. So as a huge fan of the first two films I feared another sequel. It's a kickass action movie. With great performances, See it in theaters
Cobra Kai (2018)
Defeat does not exist in this review!
Best thing to happen in a loooooong time. Great writing, great acting. Awesome storyline. Actually got the chills several times. William Zabka and Ralph Macchio are back in business!
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Safe, bland, down the middle..
Directed by Ron Howard. Produced by Disney = No edge, no balls, meh.. Who cares? Ron Howard is a good director, but he has zero testosterone or edge in his DNA.. Ron, if you´re reading this - Please drop acid or something. Your movies blend in with the rest of the CGI wallpaper out there.
Snooze..
Victor Crowley (2017)
The drector has stalled..
The first Hatchet was great. And when Adam Green came out with the excellent Frozen, I held him in high regard. But it's all been donwhill since then. And this is rock bottom. D-list dreck..
The Cloverfield Paradox (2018)
Are you not entertained?
I pressed play, expecting an entertaining movie. I got an entertaining movie.
Why all the hate? Well worth a watch..
Pandorum (2009)
The biggest surprise of 2009!
Who knew? It died at the box office. Didn't get any exposure or rave reviews.
Had absolutely ZERO expectations. Saw it merely because I'm a fan of Dennis Quaid.
And then it proceeds to be scarier than Alien. No exaggeration.
The setup, the acting, the settings and the atmosphere was all top of the line. At the very least this movie deserves to be obtain massive cult status..
Support this movie. Buy the DVD, rent it, seek it out.
I pray for a sequel...
Balls of Fury (2007)
Surprisingly funny!
I expected little from this comedy. Bought solely on the merits of Christopher Walken and my schoolboy crush on Maggie Q. What I got was a consistently laugh-out-loud comedy starring a guy I never heard of (Fogler). James Hong as Master Wong steals every scene he is in and has never been funnier. (His "prostitute speech" made me howl). Which is saying something. The cameos are all spot-on and hilarious. Terry Crews never fails to entertain, Maggie Q has never been hotter and surprise-surprise, she can do comedy. same thing applies for Jason Scott Lee, he was equally good in his part. Chris Walken is having a blast as the villain Feng. You can always tell when Walken is merely collecting a paycheck. That is not the case here. Dan Fogler in the lead was a pleasant surprise. He had several stand-alone moments were he shined and was certainly better suited for this part than, say, a manic Jack Black or a twitchy Ben Stiller.
In short: Consistently VERY funny movie, with a top notch cast kicking ass..
I don't usually gush about a movie like this, but this one really caught me off guard. Best comedy I've seen in a couple of years..
Ps. Give James Hong an Oscar already. He's awesome.
Titan A.E. (2000)
At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi...
Usually I will go in depth in my reviews. Arguing why I like or dislike it. But in this case I will fall back on the worn out but classic remark: "This movie f***** kicked ass!" It is everything Episode I and Episode II tried to achieve and failed.

Elsker dig for evigt (2002)
Low-key and hard hitting Dogme film
Contains Spoiler You know the kind of movie that just stays with you for days after you´ve seen it? In a time of big-budget Hollywood extravaganza where major set-pieces, larger-than-life special effects and a bankable star is more important than telling a real story, it´s a nice change to see a movie such as "Elsker dig for evigt". The story revolves around four people: Niels (Mads Mikkelsen) and Marie (Paprika Steen) the stuck-in-a-rut married couple with three children. And the soon-to-be-married Cæcilie (Sonja Richter) and Joachim (Nikolaj Lie Kaas). Niels and Marie go through their everyday life of juggling work, three kids and each other. Passion is an ocassional thing, but they seem to be happy about the way things are. The teenage daughter is quite the little rebel though (obviously). Cæcilie and Joachim is another story. Right from the opening sequence, where he proposes to her in a brilliant scene, the sparks fly in a big way. The chemistry these two people share is heartwarming. And having read a little about the movie in advance, it´s almost impossible to imagine that Cæcilie is going to develop actual feelings for the dry and boring Niels. Long story short: Marie hits Joachim with her car, thus paralyzing him from the neck down in the process. Marie, feeling guilty, asks her husband Niels, who is a doctor at the hospital Joachim is admitted to, to talk to Cæcilie and comfort her, seeing that Joachim wants her out of his miserable life. Cæcilie tries REAL HARD to be supportive, but in turn gets either ignored or told to f*** off. She starts turning to Niels for advice and comfort, calling him at all hours "just to talk". Urged on by his guiltridden wife, he goes to her, even in the middle of the night. A closeness develops between Niels and Cæcilie that is beyond me to describe here. It is believable and devastating at the same time, because all through movie you find yourself recognising everything the characters struggle through. Especially when they hurt. Mads Mikkelsen downplays "Niels" to perfection. Low-key and with glimpses of a charming and funny person trapped inside. Sonja Richter manages the balancing act of juggling the acctraction between two very different men. And Nikolaj Lie Kaas is hard to find sympathetic as he attacks everyone around him verbally, especially the old nurse taking care of him. He has one scene towards the end where he delivers on otherwise cliche line "I´ve missed you" in such a way that it broke even my Schwarzenegger-loving heart.. The movie is shot in typical dogme style. Everything is hand held, but unlike most Dogme films, it doesn´t give you a headache. The dialoque somehow reminded me of a Kevin Smith film, although with less profanity. It avoids nearly all of the obvious cliches´ (thank God), thanks to the writer Anders Thomas Jensen, who can do no wrong in my book. (Yes, I´m biased!). He was nominated for Best Short Film in 97´, 98´, and 99´. Won for "Valgaften" in 1999. I urge you to go see this great flick, you won´t be dissapointed.. Although it is a drama, it contains lots of humour and snappy dialoque to fill three films...
P.s. Please excuse the spelling...
Honogurai mizu no soko kara (2002)
Deeply disturbing!
Let me start out by saying that I am a big fan of horror movies. I have seen just about everything and have reached the point where nothing really gets to me anymore. Sure, I get a kick out of "reading" a movie and predicting the moments where the audience jump out of their seats. But in all honesty - I haven´t been scared in years.
When I first saw Ring, my expectations were high. I had heard from friends who had seen it that it was the best thing to come along in many years. Perhaps even the best ever in the genre. On the internet I read wonderful things as well.
Here in Denmark we have an event each year called the "Nightfilmfestival", where Ring was voted "best festivalfilm of 2000". Then I went to see it and... Nothing! Dissapointment! Depression set in! It had some unique camerawork and the cinematography was topnotch, but it just didn´t get to me. Dammit!
But now I have seen the light. Hideo Nakata, the director of Ring, has given us "Dark Water". If "Ring" made you stay up all night, trembling with fear, you should NOT see "Dark Water" - it is that creepy! This is the kind of film you go see if you arer a sucker for punishment (The good kind) like me. You won´t find a single drop of blood in it. Nor will you find any scenes involving knives, scissors or guns.
Hell, the acting isn´t even that good. But the atmosphere created in this masterpiece is unparallelled. I refuse to give away any of the scenes or in any way spoil it for you. Just go see it for yourselves.
But to illustrate what you are in for: remember that scene in "The Shining" where the kid is riding his bigwheel around the hallways of the Overlook Hotel and he runs into the twin girls? That was creepy as hell, wasn´t it? "Dark Water" is like that for the entire length of the movie! Only ten times as spooky. I am not exagerating.
It´s been 48 hours since I saw it and I still have goosebumps.
Be afraid - be very afraid...
(P.s. Please excuse the spelling.)
The Assignment (1997)
Overlooked!
Damn! Rock solid direction. Good use of unique camera angles, fades and crossovers. Great editing and last but not least good performances and a great script.. How come this is became a cable movie and not a big hit in the theaters? Considering the s*** we see WB, Paramount and all the other major studios are spitting out, it´s amazing this movie wasn´t backed by a big promotional campaign. Christian Duguay (I)who directed this gem will hopefully get his big break soon, rather than later. Interesting to note that he also served as his own Director of photography on this one. Much like Soderbergh does. Hmm? I see a pattern here.. Best movie I have caught on TV for a long, long time...
Silent Rage (1982)
Overlooked!!
Am I the only one who has noticed that the first few minutes of this film is one long take without any cuts? It is superbly executed and being a filmstudent ( And filmgeek!! ), let me tell ya´, I have rarely seen it done better. But besides that, this is good ol´ Chuck Norris, when he had a bit more charm and a twinkle in his eye to back up his asskicking skills.. See it... (You really should you know...)
