Pepsi, Where's My Jet? (2022)
One of the most privileged stuff I've ever seen
Of course, while everyone else saw this commercial and went on about their day, hoping one day to earn enough Pepsi points to get a T-shirt or duffle bag, there would be ONE teenager who would expect a freaking fighter jet, who just happened to know a man with money who could help him get it. Besides all that, the docuseries was a little more interesting than I expected. It's worth the watch to gather your own opinion. It showed the naïveté and ridiculous mistakes made from both sides, yet I was more surprised with the stunts that Pepsi pulled to cover their own mistakes. Plus, I can't believe that after all these years, many people still can't taste the difference between Coke vs. Pepsi.
Silver Linings Playbook (2012)
An OK movie... didn't understand all the hype
It was just an OK movie to me. The characters and the script did enough to keep my attention but it was boring in some parts and I expected more. It didn't get exciting until the end, which became pretty much a typical Hollywood ending.
Two great things about this film, though: (1) The awesome chemistry between Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence and (2) The authenticity of someone battling bipolar disorder. (Much better than how it was portrayed in Tyler Perry's dreadful "Acrimony".) The character's mental illness was very similar to what I've witnessed with an ex-boyfriend and other acquaintances who have BPD.
7 Days in Hell (2015)
Great Laughs - Worth Seeing if You Need a Good Chuckle
I believe someone on here said this movie is like an extended SNL skit and I couldn't agree more! Very funny yet silly at times. Loved the celebrity and athlete cameos and it was nice to see Kit Harington take on a fun role like this one!
Moonlight (2016)
Great casting and cinematography; however...
I'd give it a 6.5 if I could. It felt like the storyline was missing a lot of... oomph!! (Or umph?)
I thought the casting of all 3 Chirons were excellent! Such great acting. And the cinematography was absolutely incredible -- especially the contrast of the dark skin tones against the bluish-purple lighting.
The only thing that bothered me about the film was the script. Like others mentioned before, the film was slow in certain parts. Nice dialogue here and there, but then... nothing. I felt like the ending left us hanging.
I feel it's definitely worth watching to gather your own opinion about it, though. I don't regret seeing it -- just wish the ending was better.
Acrimony (2018)
The WORST Movie I've Ever Seen... Seriously, the WORST!!!
The storyline was all over the place. Terrible writing. The whole thing was just horrendous!
Tyler Perry has a really eff'd up idea of what bipolar disorder is. Did he not consult with a professional about that mental illness? It's not about somebody acting so irrational that they ram their car into their cheating boyfriend's RV -- or harassing the new wife and ex-husband because they are living the life she felt she deserved. Those manic-depressive moods happen in other areas and around other people. And to finally throw in BD during the last 20-30 minutes of the movie? **sigh** Ridiculous!
When Robert started working at his in-law's family business, they seemed like they didn't fully trust him. So why in the hell would they risk putting the business in jeopardy by assigning HIM to deliver to their most important client, instead of a more trustworthy employee?!!
I couldn't understand why Melinda wasn't satisfied with the $10 million dollar check that Robert gave her. He repaid many times over what he owed her. If she felt he was an unfaithful husband, why would she want him back? You have $10 million to start a whole new life with a new (and hopefully faithful) man!
While it's good that TP creates movies and hires black actors, I wonder if he gets any honest pushback from the cast and crew. He needs to do more research and/or hire a consultant. I also question his views of black women and how he portrays them on-screen. Most of the female characters are overly dramatic. Like a horrible soap opera. I consider this the absolute worst movie I have ever seen because TP has more than enough funds to make MUCH better films than this trash!
