Through the Keyhole (1987)
WAYYYYY TOO OVERRATED OMG
Wow, JUST WOW! NEVER in my life have I EVER felt so freaking ANGRY about a TV show being EXTREMELY OVERRATED before, but Through the Keyhole took its overratedness one step too far and IT'S RUINED THE ENTIRE SHOW FOR ME! This is the show that currently EVERYONE keeps talking about no matter where you go or where you hide. You keep hearing about this show everywhere, when it comes to the state of British TV these days, all that you hear people talk about is how Challenge is airing reruns of Through the Keyhole, and literally about nothing else. I JUST DON'T GET IT.
I just don't see the appeal in this show at all and, even before Challenge started airing reruns of this show recently, I never found it to be all that good, in fact, I thought it was pretty garbage. I was kind of hoping this show would just die off and be forgotten about, BUT NO! THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED AT ALL!
So all in all, Through the Keyhole is that one show that is WAY too OVERRATED, and said overratedness is making me feel absolutely insane I felt the need to rant about it. Please, for the sake of me and for your own sanity, DON'T WATCH THIS SHOW!
Teenage Euthanasia: Remember Fun? (2023)
Can I be honest?
I actually found this episode of Teenage Euthanasia WAY better than the new episodes of Futurama (well at the time of typing this review there's only the episode The Impossible Stream, though at the very least this episode is way better than that episode of Futurama). The animation style of this show has definitely improved in season 2 compared to in season 1, which I'll admit was a bit jarring to some viewers (not that it was to me), but they definitely refined it more, which is something to appreciate.
I'm also glad that the goat is also having a more major role in this show from here on out. In the first season, that goat was just a minor background character, but now that goat is definitely mainstream. Who knows what will come in the next few episodes. For fans of the mother son relationship between Baba and Pete, this episode does also show more of their bond and attachment, which is something that Bob's Burgers has failed to replicate.
So all in all, Remember Fun? Is a really good episode. Way better than the Futurama episode The Impossible Stream, which is so overrated.
8 Out of 10 Cats (2005)
Why have there been no new episodes in so long???
Has this show been cancelled? I hope not. It has been well over 2 years since the last episode came out and there has been no mention of a season 23 of this show anywhere. It's not like Channel 4 has forgotten about this show, there are still many repeats of it on E4 Extra and the like, but it's getting quite boring and I'm sick of rewatching old episodes of this show that, frankly, just don't hold up anymore these days. It honestly feels as though the spin off to this show - 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown - is completely overshadowing the original (this show) and as such they just can't be bothered putting out any new episodes of the original, which is honestly just so annoying.
The Great North: Can't Hardly Date Adventure (2023)
Reminiscent of OnePlus
This is an episode of The Great North that is very strongly reminiscent of OnePlus, and more specifically during their early days with their "Never Settle" mantra. During this era of OnePlus, they actually made really great phones at such a low price point, and were initially a success. That success is how I see this episode of The Great North, because of how Alyson has also adopted that exact same mantra of "Never Settle" and convinces Beef to live out life and to Never Settle.
Of course, nowadays, OnePlus has, in recent times... settled, with their phones nowadays being utter garbage and their whole brand being completely tarnished. They of course couldn't "Never Settle" forever and it lead to the downfall of their business. I fear that the status of Beef and Alyson's relationship is going to suffer from the exact same fate of OnePlus, because there obviously has to be at some point in the future where they settle. And because they blatantly opted to go for OnePlus' methodology and spirituality of their early days, this is going to become catastrophic.
So, right now, it is a good episode of The Great North, but in the future, this is probably going to turn into a bad episode. OnePlus couldn't "Never Settle" forever, and neither can Beef and Alyson.
Lingo (2021)
WHAT'S THE POINT?!
If I had a nickle and dime every time someone went for the 6 letter lingo and rejected the 7 letter, I genuinely would have £15,000 - the actual cash prize for solving the 7 letter lingo. They introduced that in season 3, but in reality, NO ONE EVER GOES FOR IT!!! So what the hell was the point of introducing the 7 letter lingo? I understand they want to have their viewers stick around for a new mechanism in this show, but in reality if literally NO ONE goes for it, then there's no point. Simple as that.
The producers behind this show DESPERATELY NEED to take on contestants that are brave enough to go for the 7 letter lingo, NOT contestants that would wuss out and not go for it! That just ruins the show as a whole!
The Bob's Burgers Movie (2022)
I am creeped out
Just seeing the abysmally weird way Linda dances while singing "Oh Bobby, I like what I'm hearing, diarrhea's fine but no sense fearing" in the Sunny Side Up Summer song is just about all I need to know about what this movie is like. That's also what got me incredibly creeped out. That sort of thing is also prevalent in the other songs in this movie and is what's preventing me from being able to finish this movie while at the same time keeping my sanity.
I just see it as pointless. The people behind Bob's Burgers also made Central Park so that they can dump all of their annoying songs over to a different show. This movie is no different, take all these rubbish songs and move them over to Central Park, just like how back in 2014 ITV2 moved all of their rubbish programming to ITVBe. Central Park is supposed to be your dumping ground for songs (and musicals in general), not Bob's Burgers, and this movie is no exception.
Regular Show: A Regular Epic Final Battle (2017)
I'm so sorry everyone
Really, I am truly sorry for the low rating for this episode, I wanted to give this a much higher rating, but I can't because I was immensely disappointed as it did not meet my expectations. Before marking this review as "unhelpful", please hear me out!
So you know how, at the end of the episode The Eileen Plan, Eileen says "I get to carry you next time" and Rigby says "Deal"? Well, I was very much hoping that we actually get to see that "next time" at some point in Regular Show. I was told by some people that it was the final episode where Rigby and Eileen gets married, so when I eventually started watching this episode, that thought of their marriage was the only thing going through my mind.
Skipping past the events of Pops and Anti Pops (I never really cared for that if I'm being completely honest), during the scenes depicting the next 25 years after the park returned back to normal, all that really happens are just 2 or so minutes of just whizzing by each scene seeing what was going on during the next 25 years. That's, quite obviously, not enough time, and in the end we never got to see Eileen carrying Rigby "next time", which most definitely happened during the next 25 years but we didn't get to see it. There were about 2 or 3 scenes depicting their relationship and marriage, and that was it.
I was also hoping that the Regular Show 25 Years Later comic would have shown that "next time", but of course they did not. Bummer.
Thankfully that's where fanart and fanfictions come into play, as they can actually go into detail about when Eileen carried Rigby "the next time". This is the sort of scenario where fanart would be perfect. That still doesn't change my perception of how that should have been shown in the show itself.
In conclusion, I was interested in the final episode of. Regular Show for a reason. That reasoning was one that this episode did not go in depth enough about, and that's why I'm very very disappointed. What a shame.
