The Conspiracy (2012)
While Jaws made me fear the ocean...
The Conspiracy made me fear even googling conspiracy theories. I'm hardly familiar with any conspiracy theories, so I wouldn't say I'm a believer. But, just like I don't believe in Candyman and still wouldn't chance saying his name three times...
What scares me most in horror is the possibility that it could actually happen. Did my door move from a breeze, or was it supernatural, like it was for Katie and Micah? Are the creaks in the woods tree branches moving, or could it possibly be a witch? Could the theories in this movie be well put together internet garbage, or could they be closer to terrible government-kept secrets? It's not likely, but the possibility is terrifying. And that feeling of genuine fear is what makes a movie great for me.
If you don't mind found footage and are a horror movie fan, give this a try.
The Haunting of the Murder House (2022)
If you don't know what DBS is, this is a BAD movie
If I'm unsure of if I should watch a horror movie, I pull it up on IMDB. It's usually a pretty safe bet if it's rated above a 6, and since this was a whopping 7.7 when I pulled it up, I thought, "wow, this is totally gonna be worth the $5 to rent it!!" I was robbed lol. In going back and reading the reviews in more depth, this movie is just the best of DBS's many movies. If you don't know who or what that is, the acting is TERRIBLE, the script hasn't been proofread, and even I could tell the cinematography was awful. It was like watching a film school project, and looking at it that way, they did a good job on this movie- the blood effects were decent and I'd give them a passing grade for the class. But having to pay for it on Amazon... don't waste your money!!
Unless you know DBS, then go for it, you'll apparently love it lol.
