Hesher (2010)
Actually really good!
I was unsure if I should get this movie when I read the blurb on the back of the movie, the premise sounded like a bunch of other movies I'd seen before. But I was wrong! This movie was so unique and entertaining. Even though the storyline was mildly predictable, scenes still left me with my jaw dropped . It started off strong and ended strong. And man, the characters each were great and acted out so well. You can't help but feel for the characters and want everything to work out. I felt so many emotions throughout the movie and still managed to consistently enjoy watching it. But it wasn't some sappy movie, about family, it was more a chaotic, kick in the knee kind of sappy movie about family. This movie really is a must see.
Baby Blues (2008)
Forgive me for watching this. *spoilers!*
Man oh man, was this movie disturbing! And no not in the good way, where its over and you're like oh crap! that was creepy. No, in the,I can't believe I was able to sit through that whole movie, kinda way. I thought the premise of the movie was, the house is haunted and its got mom, lets beat this super natural force! But no, the mom just snaps. Which leaves me watching an entire movie of a mother ruthlessly trying to kill her kids. I only continued to watch hoping and hoping, for some kind of explanation or justification, besides she went crazy after her most recent birth of her third child. Like in the Amityville movie ( since they compare Baby Blues to that on the back) where the house is haunted and they need to beat the house. And that ending! Are you kidding me?! That poor boy! This movie so messed up on so many different levels. Seriously I feel like a worse person being able to say I've seen this demented movie.
Bridesmaids (2011)
biggest let down in a while.
I was so so excited for this movie, I was sure it was going to be hilarious. But at the end I was left somewhat disgusted and severely disappointed. This movie fell into the ever growing group of movies that claimed to be " as funny as the hangover!", and what a surprise, like all the others, its not. This movie did have a few funny moments, I can't lie. Also a cast of great actors who played their various characters really well. But the story line seemed sorely lacking material and dimension, which they seemed to try and make up for/cover up with really long scenes. They would consist of a couple jokes that stretched on and on, It constantly got to the point where if a scene started and I was laughing or interested by the end I was just left wondering how long this movie was and when somethings going to happen. I don't know what everyone else finds so hilarious, but I'm passed drawing on magazines or books making the cartoons and models poop like I did when I was seven, and I graduated high school a few years ago, so I feel like I've heard all these sex jokes before. So all in all this movie just wasn't for me.
