Could've been an easy 9/10 if it weren't for the cheesy creature twist thrown in at the end.
This film didn't need a sun creature to prove it's a thriller/horror film. The vast empty infinite space already does that, along with clashing personalities turning insane due to emotions and the mind coping with the almost impossible ordeal at hand as well as the isolation.
Hollywood needs to learn that not everything needs to be over the top fantasy oozy woozy for a sci-fi film to be good. Sometimes, simplicity is the way to go. Film already had me at the edge of my seat on the first half, but quickly got bored as soon as the flashy razzle dazzle of the sun creature was being teased.
