Dune: Part Two (2024)
Stupendous
A Holy War begins....
This film was truly spectacular and was even better than the first. We learn a lot more about the family bloodline of Paul Atreides, which comes as a great shock to the viewers. The cinematography, sounds, visuals and almost every aspect of the film was executed to perfection.
One again Timothy Chalamet plays a great role, I will certainly be watching this film again, and I thoroughly look forward to the trilogy. Dennis Villeneuve is a genius and I expect this film to be nominated for a vast amount of awards. Great individual performances also from Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and the list goes on.
Dune (2021)
Spectacular
The cinematography is truly outstanding, Timothee plays a great role in this. I was truly gripped by this film, thoroughly looking forward to watching Dune Part 2 to see if Paul Atreides fulfils the visions he was having during number one. The sandworms were truly terrifying, however this film kept you on edge the entire way through and there were a number of amazing individual performances.
Zendaya plays a great role, and the "spice" that is responsible for intergalactic travel, causes a massive war in the desert of Arrakis. The eyes of the native tribal group, Fremen, are a result of exposure to the spice. I didn't know all these little snippets but the more I read into the film, the more interesting it gets.
Mean Girls (2024)
Average but a good laugh!
Notable performances from Jaquel Spivey and Avantika Vandanapu, bringing the film to life with plenty of laughter. Plenty of references from the original film, however Cady Herron was certainly played better by Lindsay Lohan.
Overall I was left slightly underwhelmed with the film, had too many musical interjections, and the Regina George of 2024 wasn't quite the same as 2004. Albeit, the film was an easy watch and was a pleasant watch.
Gretchen was a played pretty well, however the best performance was definitely from Karen Shetty, who I expect to be featuring in a few more films after her performance.
