Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
DCEU's best/worst possible ending
I can't see a universe where a sequel to Aquaman is good to be honest. It's just insane how I think this movie isn't absolutely horrible, but also, it's just kind of boring. This movie uses every cliche that you can think of. I also have a lot of problems with the pacing, because I see how they had a bunch of ideas, but literally none of them get used and the emotional moments aren't very emotional, because the movie moves at extreme breakneck speeds (in the last third at least). This movie isn't even about "The Lost Kingdom" for the most part. I just feel like all the big stakes from the first movie got removed, because the main villain of the first movie just isn't evil anymore. But I kind of respect the movie for having that idea, even tho it wasn't even developed that well.
The CGI compared to the Flash still has that uncanny movement that's pretty weird, but it looks much more natural, because it's underwater, and honestly the movie doesn't look bad and it's pleasant for the most part. But yeah, DCEU ends on the greatest post credit scene of all time. Must watch (the post credit scene)
Megamind vs the Doom Syndicate (2024)
Not My Megamind
Let me just say this now, memes aside, this movie is all around garbage, and that is putting it nicely. There are some funny moments here and there, but that's because it is so bad. The first Megamind is one of my favorite animated movies of all time and this just ruins it for me. Basically, every character is just not playing themselves, Megamind is completely dumb, Minion is not even minion anymore, but I think that's funny. The Doom Syndicate is dumb, because it wasn't in the first movie. This movie isn't a Megamind sequel, it's just slop made for children to put on streaming and make more money, because Megamind fans are going to eat it up.
My evening was ruined, but oh well, that was expected. I hate it.
Uncharted (2022)
I had the lowest expectations. And it didn't disappoint.
Honestly the hate for this movie may be understandable. I get that the characters don't look like their game counterparts, but at least the adventure is exciting. The twist is pretty nice, yet expected for the most part, and the scene after credits (yes there's one) confirms that there will be a sequel. The acting can be definitely better, although you don't see it because there's so much exciting stuff happening and i love it. So yeah it's fun and pretty good.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
The cooler Daniel.
James Gunn blessed us with more good superhero goodness. This movie is just something else to be honest with you. It's comedy (mostly controversial), amazing fight scenes and the James Gunn touch of madness. Anyway, this movie is just great, I hope dc continues making good movies. (But Wonder Woman 1984 wasn't that).
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
Venom: Let There Be Cringe.
Oh boy, this sure is a movie. I don't really know how to feel about it, it's just bad. I left the movie theater disappointed. So I'm not even gonna say anything about the movie. Carnage is great tho. So if you wanna watch it, then turn off your brain and try. It's short, so you don't have to suffer.
Jungle Cruise (2021)
A 2-hour adaptation of a Disney ride.
The movie definitely feels like a kids movie. Stuff moves around quickly and the plot is very weird, I can't even remember anything from there. Rewatching it 1 hour in, it's actually not bad apart from the cartoonish villain. But when the Fortnite Guy dies it feels like You're watching a fever dream. Things move around and don't make sense really, but you gotta watch it still, since the journey continues. Honestly I'd give it a 7 if it continued on without the terrible plot twist. To be honest it would be better as a 2D animated movie from Disney in the 1990s. So yeah, they should stop with making movies that look like their cartoon adaptations. But yeah the CGI toucans look nice I guess. Now I gotta wait for Dune, Venom 2 (ew) and more to come out on streaming services.
Black Widow (2021)
Mediocre, boring, but not bad
The movie was just not it. It was ok character wise and the movie felt rushed. The villain reveal was really bad tho. I hope marvel stand-alone movies will be better.
