I enjoy Sandra Bullock. I think she is a fine actress with a lot of potential. I also really like murder mysteries. So it was with anticipation that I went to see this film, and boy was I disappointed. There is nothing original about the movie, the focus seems lacking and the characters seem contrived and shallow. A completely predictable plot line and an FBI agent who is stuck in the past. The only reason I give this movie a 2 instead of a 1 is because Bullock does seem to be working hard, and she is easy to look at.

Breathtaking, Less a movie than a work of art.

When I first heard of Le Pacte des Loups I didn't know what to expect, I just knew I had to see it. Sitting in the theatre though, I was blown away. I never expected to see a French martial arts film in a first run Cinema. The camera work absolutely amazed me. The combination of the choice of colors for scene and costumes combined with the cinestropic effects stopped my heart. The story was incredible, and the acting and dialogue were so believable that I empathized with the characters and actually forgot that I was watching a foreign film. Not to mention the choreography which was excellent. This film impressed me so much that it is the first film that I have given a 10 to on this site. Bravo. I can't wait for the DVD to be released.

Predictable but intense

I watched this movie almost on a whim and was very impressed by the intensity of it. All of the actors in the film did a wonderful job and the music, direction, effects, and cinematography lent themselves well to the finished vision. The only thing that disappointed me however was the foreshadowing and predictability of the film. As a result of this, I gave it a 6 out of 10. I would recommend anyone who is interested in action / adventure films, especially those centering on WWII to watch it, however, do not think too hard about it while it is progressing.
