Tedious, unappealing 'lead' actors and unfunny
27 March 2022
Think my title says it all. Started off hating it and never really improved from there. Both main stars are uninteresting, wooden and undeserving of being called actors. A coming of age movie that probably wouldn't have even interested the fictional subjects bit related to, sure as hell didn't interest me. How this got anywhere near an Oscar is beyond me...just a watch Power Of The Dog or CODA and thanks me later.

Easily the worst of Bruce's 2021 movies
28 February 2022
Can you give zero? Utter rubbish. Poor script, nonsensical story and pretty much uniformly badly acted (although even against stiff competition Bruce Willis still stands out as hopeless). Clearly another 'ear piece' performance by the once great action hero (and the star of arguably the best action movie ever). So sad.

Not going to give a synopsis because it doesn't deserve one and nothing I can say will portray just how bad it is. Just don't bother (it is not even ironically bad).

After Life (2019–2022)

I defy anyone to watch just one episode and then not binge watch the rest
9 March 2019
Easily his best work since 'The Office', maybe even his best work. Poignant, funny, heart warming and beautifully acted. If you watch one thing this year make it this (clearly you won't just watch one thing but not matter how many it is, make sure After Life is included). It is 6 episodes of the most beautifully crafted television on a subject matter that has no right to be this funny. However, the humour is always tinged with sadness (and vice versa) and the balance between the two is perfect.

Just watch it and prepare to cry, laugh and maybe just put a little bit of perspective into your life.

Utter garbage

All I can say is don't read the book 1st otherwise it will be even worse. Poor acting and they have removed so much from the book that most of it makes no sense whatsoever. Emma Watson's character is unlikable and you have no sympathy for her. Even Tom Hanks can't improve the overall movie and the only sadness is this was Bill Paxtons last film, he deserved so much better. Do yourself a favour, read the book (which is pretty good) and steer a million miles away from this car crash of an event. Ironic that was only shown on Netflix's in the UK (did not get a cinema release) as would probably have been quite good as a mini series where they could have explained the backgrounds better.
