Adim Farah (2023)
I demand a Season 3 but on Streaming service with original writers!!
I truly enjoyed this series because of the partnership and chemistry between Engin and Demet. They could have improved at dramatic acting together, but they were enjoyable to watch. Again, Engin proved he can act even without words, especially Demet, portraying a single mother to a boy with health problems. Rastin did a good job playing Kerimshah as he also speaks Farsi and Turkish and was born with an Iranian background.
Season 1 was a masterpiece; I give it a 10 out of 10!
Regrettably, season 2 didn't quite live up to the high standards set by its predecessor, largely due to some changes in the writing team.
I can start with the beginning of season 2, which was too upsetting for audiences. I agree with how they made stylists dress and represent Farah as a rich woman, which I thought was stupid because how could they have forgotten that Behnam was already married to the mother of Kerimsah's sisters, who never gets introduced in season 2, and suddenly they had to make Farah looked submissive. Of course, later on, we see that Behnam, while holding her captive, had to put her on some pills. I hated that after the reunion between her and Tahir, they had to make her switch back to terrible clothing and apply terrible makeup. It should have gone reverse, no offense.
Overall, the sparkling I felt and saw in Farah and Tahir before was really realistic, but in season 2 with the new writers, I didn't feel it, really.
What was forgotten from the originals was that Farah was supposed to confess her angst era to Tahir about the humiliation she went through from Behnam. Then came the revelation that Tahir and Mehmet were brothers; I didn't enjoy it very much and the aftermath of it because, supposedly, these same writers who wrote the heartbreaking angst of Sarp and Umut in Icerde were supposed to do it amazingly. Then, they had to drag unnecessary characters whose stories would never be revealed in vain. Their depicted comedy scenes didn't enthuse me much. I was expecting higher drama than that. The comedy scenes and lines of Farah and Tahir were boring to me. I was expecting dramatic emotions rather than comedic ones.
As much as I love and respect Demet Ozdemir, her performance in season 2 was mainly not good. During and after season 1, she should have worked seriously on her Iranian accent and dramatic lines. Her voice was not perfect enough to shout out at some elements. I so wanted the scenes between her and Feyyaz as Farah and Behnam to be much of a dramatic confrontation between them.
Finally, the cast and the original members were great. I wouldn't say I liked how Kaan's story was abrupt, and Oktay Cubuk didn't come back for season 2 to give a proper conclusion to the character. The same goes for his mother, Vera, who left in episode 22. Sera Kutlubey should have played Behnam's wife rather than his cousin Marjan, which I liked more in season 2.
I hope they make a season 3. So many plots and stories were left to conclude, including the story of farah's mother and Marjan's father's relationship and who was the big boss that was nearly shown in the last episode. I hated that Ilyas' character was killed off when they could have concluded the main plot, which is that he was behind the death of the Alp guy from episode 1, and when Mehmet could have closed the case by knowing the truth and giving justice to his deceased friend. They should also bring back the original writers because I hated how they left the show halfway when, in the beginning, the deal was made last for 26 episodes and then gave it to the new writing team, whom they were dragging the last nine episodes to only giving a rushed ending. Instead of dragging there were other plots that should have concluded in Season 2.
Sefirin Kizi (2019)
Writers should have stayed with the original story with Tuba's debut as Nare with new appearance
In the last three years, actors have been replacing original ones to play the same characters, but unfortunately, it didn't work with this series.
I very much loved Tuba and Engin's chemistry in Black Money Love, but not in this show. I didn't feel the same fiery chemistry within the seven-year age gap.
Neslihan's departure really brought much drama behind the scenes, but my disappointment went to the producers. When they knew the original title belonged to Nare, episode 37 could've started with Gediz (Uraz Kay) either dead or alive. Nare should've reappeared with a new face and body.
I think if Tuba had played Nare, it would have been a masterpiece to see the Nare character redeemed instead of bringing in Mavi, who never turned out to be another daughter of the Ambassador, and then bringing in her former husband Sedat as the new Akin in the show.
We deserved to see the promising legendary love story and have NarSanMel overcome obstacles, including the Ambassador's actions to separate them... :(
Emanet (2020)
Be aware to watch it with a health warning!!!
Season 1 was a masterpiece, but after episode 200, it all became downhill with an illogical plot to see the main couple becoming more toxic. Regardless of all the amateur flaws, the writer continuously made and is still doing. Regardless of her that thinks her IQ is beyond Einstein, and all fans are mentally impaired. Everything beyond that was an introduction to a condemned season 2 by the end to kill Seher off, and even worst is season 3, copying and pasting the scenarios of the SehYam couple from the first two seasons to Yaman (now Yaban) with Nana.
Most of the original cast is gone, and only the leading actor Halil is left. They're sure to kill off his character at the end of season three to start a whole new story based on Nana and her family instead of focusing on little Yusuf, who was the Legacy and the plot from the start.
Kizilcik Serbeti (2022)
Only watched it for Sila (Doga), but overall the cast is great!
I started watching this series for Sila, who played Doga and was amazed by the cast with some actors I knew before. But I find 0 chemistry with her new partner, who plays Fatih (Dogukan Gungor). It's SO cringing to watch them kissing because this was the first series she shared kissing-on-the-lips scenes with a partner.
Overall, I stopped watching it live since episode 16 precisely because her character is irritating me. I don't know how many more bumps Doga needed to get on her forehead. But returning to her abusive husband and his house was going repetitive, this couldn't be justified by love, this is a weakness of character and a fear of being alone. I'm not interested in watching this character who doesn't develop "forward and upward" in any way except for the growing belly of a pregnant woman.
Esaret (2022)
TOO MUCH VIOLENCE. (Especially towards women)
Few Turkish productions have made me wanted to forcefully castrate the person who wrote it and this is definitely one of them. So how insultingly inaccurate this writer continues to promote her shows in a governmental family channel in Turkey that doesn't allow kissing scenes but violence especially towards women. She never changes her style of writing and needs to be put into mental asylum. Same writer of Emanet (Legacy) & Yemin (The Promise), I wouldn't be surprised that if this one will also will reach success and she and the producers will condemn it!
Whoever is reading this review, don't watch this series and don't expose your child to it either. And definitely do not watch her previous series, Emanet, because it is 5x worse.
