End of Watch (2012)
What a disappointment
I'd never expect a movie rated as a 7'7 by IMDb users to be such a disappointment. I like the topic, so as soon as I saw that 7'7 I didn't hesitate and pressed the start button. And the first 30 minutes of the movie were OK, and I really liked the concept of the cop vlogging about his daily life, as well as the bad guys recording themselves while doing their "bad guys stuff", and the street flavor when patrolling the less glamorous part of L.A. But then, as we know more about the main characters, their idyllic relationship, lives, wives, girlfriends, and the escalation of heroic scenes goes on, the lesser and lesser realistic the story gets, and therefore, the more it goes down hill. Such a shame that a movie that had everything to be a great "cops movie" ended up being just another movie. Colors was much better.
United (2011)
A great football movie
Is not easy to find movies about the beautiful game, and definitely harder, to find good ones. "United" is one of the last. Just the realistic description of the professional football and the picture of the society of the 50's make the film worth to be watched. Divided in two parts, before and after the crash, I preferred the first one for the reasons just given above. The setting and costumes for the film are so well done and realistic, the locker room, the club offices, the pitch, the stands, the surroundings and the outside view of the recreated Old Tradford are superb, and really help to get you into the story.A must watch for any football fan, and very specially for any football movies fan.
Christiane F. - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo (1981)
Raw
Watched the movie twice in the last 24 hours, and I definitely enjoyed it even more the second time. In fact, while watching it for the first time, I got the impression, specially at the beginning of the story, that it was a little bit overrated. That probably was due to the fact that the transition from having the first experience with drugs to become a junkie is too fast, and I kind of got lost. Love the photography. Love the music. Love the concert and the streets of Berlin. Love disco Sound, even though I was just 7 in 1981, is kind of familiar to me, probably 10 years later still existed similar dumps in my hometown when I started going to discos. Love the scene of the gang at the top of the building at dawn, and, very specially, love Babsi.
