Debi (2018)
Debi: A Haunting Tale of Love, Faith and Mystery
Debi is a Bangladeshi supernatural thriller film based on the novel of the same name by Humayun Ahmed, one of the most popular writers in Bengali literature. The film is directed by Anam Biswas and produced by Jaya Ahsan, who also plays the lead role of Ranu, a middle-class housewife who is seemingly possessed by some paranormal powers. The film also stars Chanchal Chowdhury as Misir Ali, a psychiatrist and part-time professor who tries to help Ranu and unravel the mystery behind her condition.
Debi is a film that explores the themes of love, faith, and mystery in a captivating way. The film is faithful to the original novel and captures the essence of Humayun Ahmed's writing style, which blends realism with fantasy. The film also pays homage to the rich culture and history of Bangladesh, as it showcases various aspects of Bengali life, such as music, art, cuisine, and religion. The film also touches upon some social issues, such as domestic violence, superstition, and gender discrimination.
The film boasts of excellent performances from the cast, especially Jaya Ahsan and Chanchal Chowdhury, who portray their complex characters with finesse and nuance. Jaya Ahsan delivers a powerful performance as Ranu, who is torn between her love for her husband and her devotion to the goddess. She portrays Ranu's emotions and expressions with subtlety and grace. Chanchal Chowdhury is equally impressive as Misir Ali, who is a rational and intelligent man who faces a dilemma between science and faith. He portrays Misir Ali's curiosity and skepticism with conviction and charm. The supporting cast also does a commendable job, especially Iresh Zaker as Anis, Sabnam Faria as Nilu, and Animesh Aich as Ahmed Sabet.
The film also excels in its technical aspects, such as cinematography, music, editing, and production design. The film has a stunning visual appeal, as it uses various colors and lighting to create different moods and atmospheres. The film also makes use of some impressive camera angles and shots to enhance the suspense and horror elements. The music of the film is composed by Pritom Hasan and Anupam Roy, who create a haunting and melodious soundtrack that suits the tone and theme of the film. The editing of the film is crisp and smooth, as it maintains a steady pace and transitions seamlessly between different scenes. The production design of the film is also remarkable, as it recreates the settings of Dhaka city and rural Bangladesh with authenticity and detail.
The film does have some minor flaws, such as some plot holes, clichés, and inconsistencies. For instance, some of the events in the film are not explained clearly or logically, such as how Ranu acquired her powers or why Ahmed Sabet was obsessed with Nilu. Some of the scenes in the film are also predictable or clichéd, such as the jump scares or the twist at the end. Some of the dialogues in the film are also weak or cheesy, such as when Misir Ali says "I don't believe in ghosts" or when Ranu says "I am not crazy". Some of the characters in the film are also underdeveloped or stereotypical, such as Nilu's sister or Anis's mother.
Overall, Debi is a well-made and well-acted film that offers an engaging and thrilling experience to the viewers. The film is a faithful adaptation of Humayun Ahmed's novel and a tribute to his legacy. The film is also a showcase of Bangladeshi cinema's potential and creativity. The film is not perfect, but it is definitely worth watching for its story, performances, and visuals.

Eiga Go-Toubun no Hanayome (2022)
Not good movie that was needed for the series!
The Go-Touban series has always focused more on the sisters and their relationships with each other than it ever does with the actual romance plots. Each of the girls has gotten sufficient development over the series (although some are better developed than others), and that's still the movie's main focus and where it excels.
However, this had no right being over 2 hours long - a sign of poor planning and shoddy editing. Additionally, the animation & art, while colourful, is somewhat lacking for a movie production and ends up looking incredibly mediocre.
The sound design & soundtrack, however, are reasonably satisfactory, and the VAS have yet again done a great job at handling their individual performances.
It's a satisfying and tender conclusion to the series, but one that is otherwise overlong and bland.
Fortuna no hitomi (2019)
OKAY MOVIE! not good nor bad
I found the movie to be okay, not particularly good or bad. The acting by the actors and actresses wasn't particularly impressive, but the cinematography was good.
However, the story of the movie was quite good. If the director and the production team wanted, they could have made the movie even better. Nonetheless, the director did try his best, perhaps.
I have seen various types of fantasy, tragedy, and romantic movies, and the story of each movie was different. However, there were some very common elements in the movie such as the character who tries to harm the main character but ends up making the main character look great. I won't say much more as I don't want to spoil it for anyone (if I reveal spoilers, people may get angry with me).
In conclusion, if you need to watch a movie to kill some time, then you can watch this one.
Be My Boyfriend (2021)
Contract relationship drama!
Generally, in a typical contract relationship drama, the hero and heroine get into a contractual relationship and slowly realize that they have fallen in love with each other. Amidst various obstacles in their lives, they eventually overcome them and end up together, resulting in a happy ending. This drama is no exception, but the perspective is different, while the theme remains the same.
I hope you can understand how I felt about the story of this drama. The drama had its good points, and the acting of the actors, especially Shin Hyun Seung's performance, impressed me the most.
In conclusion, you can watch it if you want. The comedy scenes in the drama were also very good.
The Woman in the Window (2021)
Planing to watch it?
The movie is truly extraordinary. It has twists, thrillers, suspense, and the actors' performances, especially Amy Adams' acting, were enviable. Moreover, the cinematography of the movie was genuinely thought-provoking, which kept the audience engaged until the end.
Despite how good the movie is, I found a flaw. We know that the main character of the movie is a patient of Agoraphobia, but as the movie progresses, we can learn that there is another mental problem of the main character. I won't reveal the problem since it will be a spoiler. However, it seemed like the director forgot about that problem as the story went on, and I was thinking about it until the end. The director didn't give any hint about the problem, even when the movie ended.
If we disregard this issue, the movie is genuinely extraordinary.

Must watch drama for thriller lovers
This is a beautiful story about mountains, nature, disaster, beauty. Where a group of responsible members risked their lives to save this huge beautiful mountain and the nature that surrounds it. Travelers there always ensure the safety of the people. I like these aspects very much. Besides, the cinematography of the drama was awesome in one word. And the acting was very enjoyable and the story was full of mystery & very enjoyable. A must watch drama for the lovers of thriller.

Great movie
What we see with our eyes may not always be true. Sometimes our eyes can show us wrong.
These words came to my mind again and again while watching this movie. I don't know why, when I was watching this movie, what I thought would happen in the future would not happen, the opposite would happen. At first, I thought the story of this movie was simple but the story is not so simple in reality there are complications. The acting of the actors in this movie, the camera angle, the sound were all great. And the way the director told the story deserves praise. Besides lighting, makeup, dialogue, etc. Of this movie was able to create a horror vibe as well as a suspense vibe. I will tell those who are reading this review to watch the movie at least once. This movie will not disappoint you. I also enjoyed the movie a lot.
Thank you.

The worst thing of my life was to watch this movie😝😝😝
Honestly, there is nothing to watch in this movie. I don't know what I've done wrong or sinned in my life. But watching this movie was the worst thing of my life. I wasted some precious time of my life by watching this movie. So if anyone is planning to watch this movie, skip it now or you will regret it later like me. And regret is the most difficult thing in life. Even then, if someone watches the movie then I have nothing more to say.
Thank you.
