Ae Watan Mere Watan (2024)
A good movie spoiled by bad acting
A Tale of Mixed Performances!
Ae watan mere watan presents an engaging narrative supported by a talented cast, yet hindered by uneven performances. While the film offers standout performances from actors like Imran Hashmi on the one hand, Sara Ali Khan's portrayal falls short, detracting from the overall viewing experience.
Imran Hashmi delivers a standout performance, effortlessly embodying the nuances of his character. However, Sara Ali Khan's performance proves to be a glaring weak point in an otherwise strong ensemble. Khan's portrayal lacks depth and authenticity, failing to fully capture the emotional complexity of her character. Her exaggerated facial expressions and overly theatrical delivery detract from the film's realism, making it difficult for audiences to connect with her character on a meaningful level. While Khan's screen presence is undeniable, her acting feels forced and unnatural, leaving much to be desired. One time watch if you have patience to bear Sara's acting.
Dahaad (2023)
Unexpectedly interesting
The first season of the "Dahaad" series delivers impeccable acting that feels incredibly genuine. The actors bring the characters to life so convincingly that you forget you're watching a work of fiction. The direction is awesome, skillfully delving into sensitive subjects like caste and showcasing the nuances of good parenting. Sonakshi Sinha delivers her best performance to date, effortlessly fitting into her character. The rest of the cast, including Vijay Verma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Singh, are undeniably talented and skilled actors. While the story may seem a bit stretched after the suspense of the killer's identity is revealed, this attention to detail can also be seen as a con. The series strives to maintain a realistic approach, avoiding any rushed conclusions. Overall, "Dahaad" is a remarkable watch, and kudos to the entire team. I didn't anticipate enjoying it so much, but I ended up binge-watching all the episodes in one night. Sonakshi's performance was a delightful surprise; this series has transformed her from a heroine into a remarkable actor in my eyes.
Qarib Qarib Singlle (2017)
Simply loved it
Qarib Qarib Singlle is an exceptional film that showcases the art of storytelling at its finest. Irrfan Khan performance is phenomenal -truly a treat to watch. The acting is so real and effortless that it pulls the viewer into the story and keeps them engaged until the very end.
The comedy in the movie is organic and light-hearted, but it leaves a deep impact on the mind and heart. The humor is not forced, and the jokes feel natural, making it an enjoyable experience. The direction and screenplay are also top-notch, making the movie an intelligent and thoughtful piece of cinema.
It is surprising that Qarib Qarib Singlle did not receive the recognition it deserved when it was released. The movie deserved to be a superhit as it showcases the art of storytelling and acting at its best. The movie is a gem, and it is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys intelligent and thoughtful cinema.
Qarib Qarib Singlle is an excellent movie that should not be missed -beautifully crafted story with exceptional acting and an effortless sense of humor that is sure to leave a lasting impression on the viewer. If you are looking for a light-hearted but impactful movie, this is one that you should definitely add to your watchlist.
Gaslight (2023)
Don't waste your time
"Gaslight" left me feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. Although the story was engaging, the plot felt quite basic and predictable, which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the movie. As a supposed thriller, I was hoping for more unexpected twists and turns, but unfortunately, everything felt quite obvious, making it feel like a waste of time.
The ending was particularly disappointing, as I had hoped for a satisfying conclusion that would tie up the loose ends of the plot. Instead, I was left feeling unfulfilled and frustrated, as it felt like a missed opportunity to really make the movie stand out.
In today's world, where audiences demand more from their movies, "Gaslight" falls short of expectations and fails to deliver the excitement and intrigue that one expects from a thriller. It simply doesn't hold up to the standards of modern-day cinema.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend "Gaslight" to others, especially to those who are looking for a thrilling and engaging movie experience. It's a shame, as the film had the potential to be something great, but unfortunately, it missed the mark.
Matto Ki Saikil (2020)
A must watch.
Prakash Jha is a treat to watch. The whole cast is simply the best. Pure acting and perfect direction! No exaggeration at all. It feels so real that you forget you are watching a movie. This is the kind of cinema we need more of. The story is heart wrenching and thought-provoking. It evokes all sorts of emotions in you -gratitude, anger, sadness, frustration, helplessness. There are moments that teach you the joy in small things. The story is so engrossing that it stays with you for a long time. The beginning engages you thoroughly and the ending is so strong. In the end, the movie says everything without saying anything at all. Kudos to the whole team for making such a soulful movie.
Ghar Waapsi (2022)
Engaging, entertaining and Thought-provoking!
The acting is superb. The direction is mind blowing. At times it felt so real that I forgot I watching a web series. It's about so many relatable emotions that we all feel and the conflict that we all face at some point in our lives. It makes you reflect about your life and priorities. These characters and their struggles help you get in touch with yourself. The story asks you to pause and think about who you really are and what you really want. And the best part is that you never feel overwhelmed or burdened by the heaviness of the subject. Kudos to the team for managing to keep it light-hearted. Simply loved everything about it. What a talented cast!

Frankly, i didn't expect the movie to be good, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Dhanush is a treat. Sara has improved tremendously. The storyline is unique too. Music is cherry on the cake. Again, Dhanush is love <3.
