The Lady of Heaven (2021)
trash
Ought to move forward their game in improving thrillers, this one was an enormous frustration. So let me simply make it understood, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE, DO NOT squander 100 minutes on this trash.
Silk Road (2021)
neh
Really good actors at work here and they prove once again the often said and never wrong saying of "... paved with good intentions". It has its flaws and it has its bumps and you may have issues with the likeability of any of the characters ... but maybe you can overlook these things and just enjoy this.
Willy's Wonderland (2021)

Chuck E. Cheese's with animatronic figures in individually themed rooms. The place is a mess and he's locked in overnight. Local girl Liv (Emily Tosta) tries to burn it down and gets arrested by Sheriff Lund (Beth Grant). Her friends help her escape and the group retur.
Mainstream (2020)
meh
It was a strange performance to watch because I could tell he was putting it all out there and doing a great job of it, but his character was so strange and unlikeable that it almost all went to.
The Vigil (2019)
nah
Horror movie and it really works well, because of many things. Attention to detail is one of those things. You just kow that the filmmaker knows certain things about the religion and about the (normal) process.
Let Them All Talk (2020)

So the drama is high, the artists do their best with a really thin string of story they have at their disposal. Decent sure, but you can't be faulted for expecting more - Steven Soderbergh is a great director, but he also likes to experiment. You may feel he hit all the right notes here, do not be mad at those who do not feel the same way. There would not be room of discussion otherwise.

Ouldn't let them. The west would disown them. They had to decommission all their nukes before being allowed into the European economic system. I lay this down as my first point because it's indicative of the entire movie. This is trying to be a near future reality.
America: The Motion Picture (2021)

There's nothing as high-minded as taking a position or provoking a thought at the level of a "Team America: World Police" (2004), or just a run-of-the-mill "South Park" episode. Reworking history to anachronistically suit pop-culture and modern notions of diversity is especially pathetic compared to, say, "Hamilton" (canned in 2020), which actually integrated past and.

And I reckon as with the fairy tale, our main character does some questionable things. And I don't mean the going out having fun part. But leaving your cell phone because you are annoyed by it ringing so much .... I guess she hasn't heard of silent mode for example.
City of Lies (2018)

The structure is very well done and easy to access too. Acting is great and there are connections being made that are very likely to paint a picture of what happened back then ... even when you can not be sure of everything ... and it does concentrate more on the case of Christopher Wallace (better known as Notorious BIG) rather than take up the.
Eat Wheaties! (2020)
lobe
. He keeps the character from devolving into anger or creepy. I wouldn't say that this is terribly funny but it does become touching around the middle. As his life degenerates, his sadness becomes quite compelling and very endearing. It's an improvement over his cringy cluelessness to his loserdom. By the middle, he's more self-aware. There is a sweetness to Sid and it's all down to Tony Hale.
Yes Day (2021)
nah
And that's not that much fun. It's definitely juvenile and I guess that's the point. The movie finally gets somewhere with the parents in jail. The last act is more compelling but that's not saying much. It's a safe evening for the family to watch together and that's worth something.
Mortal Kombat (2021)

Earth is on the verge of annihilation. After nine victories by Outworld, they are one loss away from the Earth being conquered. Cole Young (Lewis Tan), Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee), and Liu Kang (Ludi Lin) must defeat the warriors of ruthless Outworld Emperor Shang Tsung (Chin Han).
Shoplifters of the World (2021)

, I kinda knew this film would be bad - how could it live up to any expectations? And yes it was terrible but I kinda loved it too. It was awfully cliched - so many lines lifted from smiths songs which as a 17 year old I might have found clever. It was clearly written and directed with love.
Seance (2021)
ok
It's all very average and middling starting with lead actress Suki Waterhouse. The story, the location, and the filmmaking are all middling. It's not actually scary although it's a little spooky. The twist is not shocking as much as it's a relief that it makes sense. The mystery is the same. I'm just glad that it's not completely stupid but the reveal is a long information dump.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)

Aw Ethan Sawyer (Jon Bernthal) is a Deputy Sheriff. The assassin team catches up to him before that. His son Connor escapes and finds help from smokejumper Hannah Faber (Angelina Jolie).
The Block Island Sound (2020)

Https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8747160/reviews/? The accompanying music is very much in keeping with the film, it adds to the atmosphere, and never intrudes. It's very nicely filmed, with some great shots of the sea, they make it look even more bleak and vast than we know it to be. The shots of the dead animals add a real sense of curiosity. The acting is excellent.ef_=tt_ql_urv.
Cherry (2021)

On the other, it offers us a truly enthralling performance from Tom Holland as the eponymous character. The premiss being that "Cherry" is a bit of a drop-out whom, but for his love of "Emily" (Ciara Bravo) has little of value in his life. He enlists in the US army and finds some.
