Death and Other Details (2024)
Mystery was fun until it was solved.
If the show was 8 episodes and cut some of the spiraling ending I think it would have been better. The ending just took a lot of turns that weren't needed that made the show feel kind of stupid. The first 6 episodes are really solid and made me want to stay around to see the ending. The only reason I think I kept watching is because of the beauty of the main actress. There is a lot of jumping point to point that got old fast plus a lot of inconsistency in how the show issues out justice the end of the last episode feels dumb. If this show or first season is a one-off storyline I would rate it 7 but that doesn't seem to be the case.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Rewatched the original 3 It's a solid sequel.
I wish I could do half stars because I'm more of an 8.5 but it is not a terrible sequel to a franchise that should have been left alone.
All the plot points to me build off the original well. Do I like the A. I being called morphius or Agent Smiths re-skin? Not really. Is the ending different than expected? Yes but is that a bad thing?
But was the original Matrix trilogy really a closed story? I don't think so it was very open ended with the plot that could be further expanded on.
I think Resurrections is a solid pick up point from where the originals ended and I'm looking forward to the next movie. Hopefully the next one will be the last and not spread out to a trilogy because there isn't much left to be close upon.
Mayor of Kingstown (2021)
The Grittiest Show on TV with Great Writing.
For the amount of gritty violence I would have thought this would be on HBO but in a good way. The writing is really good. I gave it a 9 because it's a little unrealistic at times but the plot is great with twists that you don't see coming at all. The acting is top-notch with a great cast. If you like Gritty shows and can stomach a lot of violence it's a great watch.
