The Goldfinger (2023)

An anticlimactic film

I am very curious about what happened to this film.

It's like a chef preparing high-end ingredients to make a stunning dish for diners, but halfway through, he suddenly finds that the natural gas has run out, and there is no other heat source available, so he can only rely on the residual heat in the pot to cook the dish.

The first half of the film is undoubtedly a good one. Seeing Tony Leung and Andy Lau opposite each other will make people wonder whether it can reach the height of "Infernal Affairs". As a result, it completely collapsed in the second half. The narrative advancement relied entirely on voiceover dictation, and every scene that could have been polished turned into a few seconds scenes.

The Fallen Bridge (2022)

I can feel the heart of crew but there are shortcomings

At the beginning of the movie, Meng Chao, as a boy who dropped out of school, lives in a dilapidated cement hut. He looks at the river, and the background sound is a host who is broadcasting how lucky the boys and girls of that year were. The irony here needs no words.

The story begins with the collapse of the bridge, and outlines people who are obsessed with money and power can do what - wrapping people with cement.

The story is good, but there are still shortcomings in the filming. For example, on the rain night, the heroine and Meng Chao hid together in the shadows. When the camera was on the two of them, the conversation between Fan Wei and Zeng Meihuizi in the distance came through heavy rain, which undoubtedly did not fit the reality.

In general, this is a work that can clearly feel the serious heart of the director and screenwriter.

Only Fools Rush In (2022)

Not only the romance story, but also the sketches of the times

The photograph of the film is fresh, and you can taste the style of Han Han which is island, locomotive, and joy. There is not only the romance story, but also the sketches of the times. Liu Haoran went to Guangzhou to find his father, and followed the crowded streets, a shot was raised, and Guangzhou's high buildings and bustling came to the screen.

Death on the Nile (2022)

Beautiful but lack the core of reasoning

Filming techniques are good, and many shots have a sense of space design. Especially the Egyptian River shots, which is really beautiful enough to be a honeymoon destination.

As for the story, the atmosphere is good, but as a suspense film, the ending is almost completely guessed from one third of the film. Especially the close-up of the handkerchief is too deliberate. In addition to the lack of surprise in the final revelation, the reasoning is really too simple.

I like the music of this film. The blues are perfect.

Nice View (2022)

Nonrealistic film

It's no surprised that this Chinese theme film is nonrealistic. And it's hard to let audiences believe what cured the little sister's illness, especially there is no scene filming about the relationships between the doctor and the patient's family people. It is absolutly lack the real life experience.

But the beauty of the buildings and the hard work of the cleaners formed a very strong contrast. In the film language that could not be clearly stated, the director gave us a real China image.

A Star Is Born (2018)

A happy start but a sad ending

After watching the movie, I realized that the beginning of "shallow" was so heartbreaking. It is so-called lonely person.

The actors' performance is impeccable, no wonder Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga topped with nominations for that year. It's just that one can't help but imagine that if Gaga's timbre was still as thin as it was back then, the splendor of the singing would be even better.

As Cooper's first director work, although it presents the freshness, the lack of control can still be seen in the middle and later stages. Especially there was a brilliant music biographical films "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the same year.

Too Cool to Kill (2022)

Funny but mediocre

Everyone has a dream, and some people are willing to be humble for their dreams. I admire such people. The downside is that the spark between the leading actor and actress is not credibly portrayed in order to avoid clichés, which makes the leading actor's final decision to risk his life to save people a little unconvincing.

Although I was still moved by the end, the only meaningful thing I learned from this film is that one person should express themselves with "I feel", instead of defining the other casually, especially the one you care about.

Don't Look Up (2021)

A sketch comedy

We should all thanks to actors for their perfomances. It likes The Eternals which tells a story about human reactions on unreal stories. I can only describe this film as a sketch comedy. And the final ending really makes people ask the same question as Leo, is there any need for nudity?

The Matrix Resurrections (I) (2021)

It is more of a comforting feast for fans

I can see " the director told the audience that she really dosen't want to make this movie". Many key roles have been omitted or replaced, and the flashback scenes obviously destroyed narratives. Of course, the most important thing is that the storytelling and action design are nothing new compared to the trilogy. It is more of a comforting feast for fans.

Eternals (2021)

Beautiful but lack the sense of tension

The photography is beautiful, but the systematic exposition of patricide lacks both the process of discovering the truth and sufficient psychological choosing. Which makes the storytelling tastes bland.
