Gargi (2022)
Movie makes you think twice
The plot is the backbone of not only this, but any movie.
You have to question everything suspicious.. Not just the rape case, but other sensitive matter. The movie teaches us this very important aspect. Even if it comes closer to your belongings. Especially the family members. This movie teaches that Truth is the only ultimate weapon for justice. Usually in India, people generally suspect police, jury, lawyers as corrupt entities. But not always pans out that way. The potrayal of media is also very real. No media should conclude anything blindly & must be strictly consider the real facts.
Amazing thriller. Must watch.
DC League of Super-Pets (2022)
Bad experience
The movie's rating is Universal, but they literally included curse words & then bleeped them. Like what's the point of including them & bleeping in the post?
Also green lantern's gender is opposite of what it generally used to be. Why is DC moving far away from originality?
The character development is very childish. I understand the movie is for kids, but also including the curse words makes it PG rated so what's the point of a childish plot? The distributors themselves doesn't know what to rate it.
The movie also suffers from massive writing issues. It relies the most from it's overrated voice cast & nothing else.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Why did I feel like I watch the first movie again?
I do admit, that VFX this time were great. But I don't know what's more special about TGM. It follows the same exact frame to frame formula as the first installment. Infact, I would say this isn't even required at all.
I Am Groot (2022)
I am Groot. No "You are boring"
I can't believe this is the groot that lifted a freaking strombreaker & literally cut off his own hand.
I know this is the last marvel project from James Gunn. But that doesn't mean it has to be good or bad.
They shown too many variations of groot in too many movies, literally made fans look him like a joke. Groot had so much potential it carried from it's own comicverse. Unfortunately marvel decided to familicize & merchandise it without diving into any marvel's phase at all.
Ron's Gone Wrong (2021)
Missed Opportunity to showcase today's truth
After watching the first 30 minutes, I thought the movie's gonna focus more on the Online Internet Privacy aspects, such as illegality around data collection & online surveillance without user consent. But at the end, the plot just went with no pillars backing around the story.
Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022)
Enjoyed it like a kid
Me & my family had a great night watching this on our home theater system. Not just the kids but everyone enjoyed the same. Minion franchise is amazing & we're proud that it exists.
Jerry & Marge Go Large (2022)
Can't be more wonderful than this
Amazing that a real lottery story is being potrayed as a movie. It's so refreshing. Has no profanity, adultery & vulgarity. A total clean state plot with good humor & a nice score. Completely worth watching.
Jaddeh Khaki (2021)
This is how a movie should be
Today's movie industry is completely spoiled by heavy background scores, CGI, VFX & other non-sensical unrealistic mystery thriller stories.
In olden days, there used to be theatres where audience watch stage drama as movies, where the actors were actually acting for literally 3 hours straight. Those days were gone by & we were left with these digitally edited cutshot movies.
The movie itself is so calm, realistic & had amazing cinematography.
The only things I disliked were unusual unexplained plot & lengthy screenplay.
Major (2022)
A commercial entertaining family watch
Film is based on a real life Indian Army Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Although it's a biopic, most of the plot is a commercialised version of Sandeep's life. While it's not a true one to one depiction of 26/11 Taj Hotel Mumbai Attack, It's a good family entertainer & a true inspiration for Indian Army & the soldiers that ather to such extent of patriotism.
Vikram (2022)
The vision of Indian Cinema is still alive !
It's great to see non-commercial movies booming recently, thanks to the audience for choosing such movies & the directors like LK showcasing the best of the Indian Cinema.
Vikram, is a tamil Action Adventurer Thriller that focuses on the post Kaithi events (yes ! It's a Lokesh Kanagaraj Universe) where the drug dealing between the government officials & mafias continue to raise stakes.
New characters being introduced. Some plotholes clear doubts that exist in Kaithi. Cinematography is top notch. Camera work in the action scenes feel like they're inspired from hollywood project Upgrade ! It's overall a masterpiece from a South Indian box office. The bgm score from Anirudh really hits you hard (Although it still needs some tweaking).
The reason I gave rating of 3 notches down, is :
1. It still depends on the star cast to pull mass audience into theatres.
2. The amount of gore is so ample with restricted censor rating & not recommended for young teens & to be seen with a family.
3. Dubbing into other languages like Hindi haven't taken much care & promotion over PAN India is very poor.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
Subtlety is not a thing anymore
The first watch of Taika Watiti's movies are always great. But when you revisit his projects later, you're gonna start noticing it's age.
Thor: Love and Thunder is what I felt like an experimental project that wants to explore different ethnic races & certain LGBTQ communities in a very subtle way. You might not notice it when it's fun, but you will when it's not. The first part is Taika's some of the best comedies you'll ever see. The mid part is where it starts to get cheezy, except the visual grading. The final battle and the climax might or might not convince everyone.
Then there comes the director's vision of 'comedy first' & 'plot secondary' aspect that some like & others might not. Overall, his movies are enjoyable with whole family. You could give credit at least to that part.
Apart from it's downsides, Love & Thunder is it's another own standalone Thor movie that progresses MCU "just a little bit", meanwhile also ending some past characters & arks of the celebrities involved in the past MCU projects.
Morbius (2022)
WHY?
Not R rated. No clue of spider universe, despite the character supposed to be from it. Too dry plot.
A vampire without blood is like a bulb without light.
