See (2019)
Yeah, No.
This one has lost me, I got through season 1 and into 2 and lost interest, it just goes on and on and so bloody slowly at that. Someone reviewed this here as "Crippled by writers own blindness" and I feel that's a pretty fair assessment.
Foundation (2021)
I like.
I liked this, many didn't. Yeah I can see the parallels to Dune, but it's also so very different. It filled a spot that had been left empty in the Syfy TV realm for quite a while.
For All Mankind (2019)
Love it.
Stay with it, the first episode doesn't do what is to come any favours. It is a great series with excellent casting. It has the right amount of everything, drama, politics, humour, sentiment, syfy space.
And that season 2 finale. 😥😢😭
We will ignore the fact they are not aging in line with the time line.
Shining Girls (2022)
Ahem?!
OK, I think I get it... Wait. It is 'The Time Travelers Wife, but with a serial killer?
But come on Apple, I just don't have time for this sort of....
I work Apple, I am busy, when I come home and turn on the TV and sit down to watch something and relax, I don't want to be forced to think this hard. Now stop letting the interns pick the scripts.
The Essex Serpent (2022)
Terrible casting.
I write this early only into this series and overall the plot is ok, not great, but could be worse. It has an air of Penny Dreadful to it, but unlike Penny Dreadful the casting in this is Terrible, all apart from Jamael Westman, Gérard Kearns and Tom Hiddleston. I am unsure of Hayley Squires as of yet, but largely the rest don't sit in their roles, Danes, Poesy and Dillane all seem at odds with their characters, Danes especially does not fit well in her role.
I want to like this, but it all feels a little half hearted.
