The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
A redemption you seek will be yours...
"Hope is a good thing, maybe best of things, and no good thing ever dies"- Andy Dufresne, Shawshank Redemption, 1994.
This film has a special place in my heart. It starts with setting a brief premise to the overall cause of 'How our protagonist ended up in the Shawshank?', and which serves the purpose. Latter the story opens up with more characters, their perspective on life, and their course of activities which they assume are necessary to survive in Shawshank. Although Andy is the main protagonist, the movie also gives its supporting cast good opportunities, which gives the story a more mature, realistic, and solid foundation.
The story opens up layer by layer and throws you into the heart of Shawshank, where you can observe its analogies with human life brilliantly depicted by eye-soothing cinematography and exceptionally well-written screenplay. At its core, it's a story of faith and hope.
This film is a remarkably best example of setting a difference between 'Reaction and Response' to unfortunate incidents in our life. While everybody was busy reacting to these events, licking them till they bleed again, Andy was busy engraving his future in Zihuatanejo.
The narrative let you feel the experiences of the protagonist at the time of his stay in Shawshank. The enormous tragedies that lie between Andy and his salvation will astound you. Andy's selfless actions are the highlights of his journey in Shawshank, which defines pure Karma. His belief in tiny actions and unprecedented faith in hope is the backbone of the Shawshank Redemption.
The experience of a lifetime, definitely recommended watching it.
Kantara (2022)
KANTARA: A cinematic excellence!!!
There aren't many movies that endure forever, but KANTARA undoubtedly falls into that category. With its deep ties to Indian culture, religion, and the core of Hinduism, this unique narrative captivates us. The film's creator ensures that you are not spoon-fed while watching it. Your questions will be answered as you delve deeper within, and new ones will arise! Unexpectedly, you will reach a point where you are no longer seeking explanations.
The creator does not push himself on creation or feel superior to creation in any way; instead, he respects free choice, liberates us, instills in us a sense of balance, and does not forget his words once given.
These frames are about someone who has sacrificed himself, done his part, and expects others to keep their word for the greater good. In exchange, he only wants peace and happiness for everyone. However, when the promises made seem to break, and greediness extends so far as to not care about humanity, he awakes to ramp down all.
