Jeanne du Barry (2023)

A Beautiful Film. Did not disappoint.

Filled with charm and wit and wisdom and loads of pomp and circumstance, I found this to be a lovely film. The acting of both Maiwenn and Mr. Depp provided enough chemistry to make you not want to go out and get more popcorn. (And I love cinema popcorn.) Mr. Depp's ability to speak without much speaking gave evidence of his unique talent and his ability to never disappoint. For Johnny Depp, his actions and amazing looks sometimes speak louder than words. He definitely acted like King Louis XV probably did back then from what I've learned about the man. Depp stayed in the background just enough to allow Maiwenn to shine as the focal point of the film. The costumes and setting alone were worthy of any prestigious award; the music was divine. I do hope more people will get out to see this film, even though it is in French. It is clearly worth one's time. I adore period films anyway, so I was looking forward to seeing this one and especially thankful for the subtitles. It succeeded in providing me pleasure with every scene. I know the story of Jeanne du Barry already, so it was fun to watch how Maiwenn tied it all together.

They need to make Sea of Dawn: Adventurer's Game into a full-fledged movie. The short promotional clip was brilliantly done as well as the fantastic costume designs, the subject matter, the comedy, everything. I don't play games but watching this made me almost want to give adventure gaming a try. An Award Winning short that needs to be recognized somewhere. I hope it will be considered. Take the time to watch it if you can. It was hard to recognize Johnny Depp was the main guy in this. He was unique but that came as no surprise. I've seen that with his acting in just about everything he done.

Well Worth Seeing I would watch it again

Johnny Depp the artist. Refreshing. His extraordinary timeline is amazing but I wish they could have gone into more detail about this talented man. It was not long enough to explore many of the finer points but it does show you how individual he is and explains how he has shaped his career through the years. There is so much more to him that many have not seen. There is clearly only one Johnny Depp. I rate him high above all other actors.

Too many don't realize all there is to know about him & his insane talent. I would love to see a part two of Johnny Depp: King of Cult to bring even more attention to this talented man.
