Cherry Pop (2017)
No. No. & Okay maybe... (really??) NOOOOO!!!
Storyline - boring.
Jokes - highly offensive.
Acting - lacking.
Queerness - over the top. No! Like... even for a camp person I was looking at this thinking "you're giving too much Camp honey, I'm looking for the Rangers."
The only good thing about this horrifying film was when Lars Berge sang Ave Maria . 4 stars for that. The rest of the movie just BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Bob The Drag Queen, what are you doing sweetie? The one who gave the best performance was Jizelle and she did nothing, but sit by Lady Zaza's door and read her script. Whilst getting abused for being the "terrible" actress!
Great Performances: Macbeth (2010)
An entire cast & crew of Masters At Work!
IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, YET! YOU'RE DOING YOURSELF A DISSERVICE! HANDS DOWN THE BEST MACBETH FILM TO DATE!
MACBETH'S SOLILOQUY "TOMORROW AND TOMORROW" IN ACT V SC V this is the crescendo (chef's kiss) when Macbeth realises he's zero forks & knives left to give. Now, Sir Patrick Stewart started his career in the Royal Shakespeare Company, and is a master of Shakespeare by any means but I was still blown away by this performance. He delivered this role immaculately!
But, the true star of the show was Kate Fleetwood as Lady Macbeth, (yes...I know, imagine upstaging Sir Patrick Stewart!) Her deliverance of the sleepwalking scene literally sent chills down my spine!!!
I would give a notable mention to,
ACT IV SCENE III (Speech by Macduff) Michael Feast's emotion - okay I bawled and cried! That was masterful!
And excuse me but the three sisters with their modern version of "songs of the witches" Did I catch a hint of Dubstep? Who knew Shakespeare would remix well with Dubstep? You Do You! That was a stroke of Sheer dumb luck and it was genius how it just worked!
The scenery being entirely filmed inside Welbeck Abbey and in the underground labyrinth. Added a chilling ambience to the whole contemporary take.
I cannot fault this! 10/10.
Mad God (2021)
Surreal Dystopian Stop Motion
I'm a self-professed horror aficionado.
I recently signed up for the Shudder subscription to which I stumbled on this title by chance.
You'll know Phil Tippett from Jurassic Park, Star Wars animations & Robocop 2. He has some big names under his belt, and his expertise really does shine in this Surreal Dystopian Stop Motion Picture.
The striking visuals and gore is everything any horror fan wants and then some.
I had done some research and found this movie to be 30 years in the making, and Phil Tippett finally blessed us. The storyline is difficult to follow as there is no dialogue. It would be advised to watch this movie with full intent, be patient as it does take time to form understanding of what's happening on screen. I mark it down 3 stars because of the lack of dialogue, and what "tongues" are in the script are polyglot rambles. I somewhat hate that I love the polyglot ramble, though. It has me conflicted! It does add to the artistry of "uncertainty" of what's happening. If I'm honest I'm marking down out of pickiness because I refuse to believe anything can be this perfect!
