What Richard Did (2012)
An arthouse drama done brilliantly
After watching normal people, I went looking for more stuff by this director. It is obviously the same director as it is Slow. Slowly does it. That is how this film plays. I loved it. The emotion and the conflict are so strong. There is a scene between the father and son, in the backyard, is just perfect. It is worth watching this film and sticking with it, just to feel the emotion of that scene. Beautifully shot.
Normal People (2020)
Slow but so enjoyable
This film is basically just people talking. The connection between the lead characters is so well done, and pulls you in from the start. It is very simple but yet quite complex.... I guess it represents us humans very well. Nothing is straight forward in our decision making and sometimes we are our own worst enemies. I think this is a great watch for anyone. There is of course some hot sex scenes in the series, which are very enjoyable and tastefully done. Intimate would be the best way to describe them.
The Drop (2014)
Love Tom Hardy in this.
Had missed this film for some reason when it first came out but finally got around to seeing it. What a spectacular performance. The film moves at a good pace. Storyline is captivating and the tension carrys throughout. You cant predict what will happen. Top marks. Great film.
Druk (2020)
What a great movie
I loved this movie. Raw and realistic and yet what a crazy premise. It is fun and sad at the same time. I cant say enough good things about it. The performances. The visuals. Storyline. The emotional rollercoaster. Just well done to all involved. Please make more like this.
The Limit Of (2018)
Great performance
I liked this movie's storyline and the tension between the two main characters. It starts slow but I found myself becoming intrigued by the main character. He never explains himself or his actions, but yet I understood him and could relate in ways. Loved the sexual chemistry. Wish there was more of that. Good film. I would recommend.
Calm with Horses (2019)
Good film. Nice story
This film really comes together. It has a heartfelt message at it's core which I understood and felt, but it also has some excitement in it, which seems to be more rare in Irish dramas that I have been watching lately. The actors are very strong. Love that Irish actor Barry. Very interesting to watch him on screen. Enjoyable film. Good story.
Michael Inside (2017)
Great Film but a little slow
The premise of the film is minimal but the acting and the way the film looks is raw and realistic. I enjoyed it but it did test my patience a little at times, but that is more to do with my tastes than it is to do with the film. A good Irish film. A break from the blockbusters, which I don't often take the time to watch.
A Date for Mad Mary (2016)
unexpected film
This was a lovely surprise. I've been watching more Irish films lately and really enjoyed this one. A great performance by the two lead characters and they protrayed the meaning of friendship and the fallouts good friendships can have. The film was a little dark in parts but that didn't take away from the emotional impact. Lovely film.
