The Investigation: A Search for the Truth in Ten Acts (2019)
Not a movie
This is a recounting of what happened. Those still saying that it was a hoax, really need to reread the report. There were like 199 indictments and I think 37 guilty pleas all stemming from the report. Either due to russian election interference, or obstructing the investigation of election fraud (Roger Stone). People went to jail, were deported, or removed from their positions. People don't do that for a "hoax", you can't convict, and you don't plead guilty to "hoaxes" you guys are ridiculous.
I love a lot of the actors that portrayed characters in this for the re-enactment of it, and thought they did it without going too over the top or making it bias in anyway. Was an informative piece.
Nope (2022)
Great film, ignore reviews, better than 90% of newer films out
I don't think this is his best film so far, but it's a fun watch with some complex characters. Felt at times like it was his take on a M Night movie. It had some man vs machine vibes at first that definitely shift gears into the film. The effects in this were also top notch, and explored a part of UFO theory I have never really considered that I found entertaining. It is slow paced at times, and I could see getting bored if you have a childs attention span or only seem to like action movies, but the characters are engaging, but OJ (Kuuluya) is not really a charismatic character intentionally in the film, so don't go into it expecting to see a buddy movie, or much humor, although Emerald and Angel I found pretty charming and humorous at times.
Prey (2022)
Haven't seen this
I haven't seen this movie, I plan to, and honestly I'm guessing its probably closer to a 7-8 area. If not, I will be truly surprised. I'm confused on how many people have already tried to spam review it poorly, so just here to even the odds a little bit. Hopefully talk some sense into someone as well.
It is 2022, and you folks are getting angry about "too many films having women kicking butt", this is ridiculous and a solidly one sided argument. I grew up in the 80s, and I'm a man. Every action movie, including the original of this series, had a man kicking butt. Did all of those films get panned critically for not collectively having 'too many men kicking butt'? Or it is just that you feel like media in general is supposed to be made and produced specifically for white males?
Equally the Mary Sue argument is ridiculous unless you want to disregard every action movie of the 80s-90s with a male lead. I very much felt the same way when I was a kid, it was hard for me to relate to a female lead in a book/video game/movie, but honestly it took me thinking about how if I felt that way, imagining how all women have probably felt that way growing up about an overwhelmingly majority of entertainment. You guys are selfishly reviewing something for not specifically being made for you, and if you can't enjoy something because you're closed minded to anything that doesn't appeal to your narrow view, it doesn't really deserve to be panned as being "woke". The problem isn't "wokeness", find a new word by the way you guys have beat that one to death, the problem is YOU. The world and next generation of kids are evolving and progressing towards a more inclusive future. Hollywood does make progressive calls sometimes in casting, but that doesn't make anything a bad story, or rewrite history.
You guys complain about all these casting choices when men originally played the women in theater. There were white people playing ethnic roles which was still completely acceptable apparently and enough to even win some awards in the past. But go on, complain about a black mermaid or elf, for not being historically accurate to elf and mermaid culture. Can't you guys see that Hollywoods not the issue here?
Also the guy saying how a 5'2 woman couldn't take down a predator. Read the comics. In the early 2000s or late 90s a short statured woman was actually became a predator. They don't respect special forces training, they're hunters. Native Americans....... I'd venture to say are probably at the top of the list for being historically the best trackers/hunters in history. It makes sense for a Predator plot. Predator culture is built on hunting and honor. They'd likely greatly respect Native American culture more than special force fighters. It wasn't until the end of the original predator that Dutch defeated the predator, and he only did so because he decided to fight smartly and it earned the predators respect enough that it disarmed itself to take him on hand to hand. Again, you're just getting upset because you wanted something else.
