Euphoria (2019)
controversial
I really used to enjoy the show when I was watching it for the first time about 2-3 years ago, but I just rewatched the first three episodes and wtf was Sam Levinson thinking. I like the way it is shot, there are some pretty interesting scenes and shots which could be aspiring for sure. On the other side I don't really see the point of it. I suppose out is somehow the Dawson's creek of our generation (or something like that you know what I mean) only it shows only the very very bad side of the things. There is no lesson (not in a subtle way I mean). Many storylines are troubling and actually disturbing at times. It is about teens yet it is 18+. I suppose it is aimed for older audiences but there is still no point. Why would an adult watch (you know what I mean cause I seem to sound a little lame rn)
Anyho, the characters are often quite unlikeable and I just can't stand their dialogue. There is no way Levinson thinks teens only uses words and phrases such as "like" "I'm just" etc
Overall it's bad but also good in a way.
Sex Education (2019)
worth watching only the first three seasons
The first three seasons are near perfection. It is funny, sweet and actually educational. I would rewatch them all. The fourth season is absolutely unnecessary and forced since many of the old characters are replaced with new annoying ones. Netflix was just ticking boxes writing the script. I've seen people say that it is supposed to be a satire and a parody of gen z and in a way it sort of is but there are way too many storylines and they all seemed to be incomplete and boring. Adam's storyline wasn't so bad but it's sad that he wasn't interacting with the other characters. Separating Otis and Eric was so uncalled for, just filling screen time. It would have been just as good to stop at the end of the third season since it would not have been any different.
