Desperate Housewives: The Best Thing That Ever Could Have Happened (2009)
A nice change for a show that's usually light hearted
I never watched desperate housewives when it was on tv but decided to binge it now and I'm glad I did. Most of the time it cracks me up, but this episode was vastly different from its usual storylines
Some shows make me tear up, but not many shows or movies can make me bawl my eyes out. This episode captured my attention the entire way through. It warmed my heart. The more you saw how much this man affected the housewives in such a positive way, the more you connected with him and felt his loss. I could feel the emotion building and building until the scene where Mary Alice sees the hole in his shoe. I absolutely broke down in tears. I gathered myself back up until I saw he made a promise to Mary Alice to help people and then I lost it again. Complete uncontrollable crying I haven't done since I watched Marley and Me. I felt like Eli deserved to retire and find love and that hurt my soul and made my heart ache. Bravo to Marc Cherry and whoever else was involved in this episode. Absolutely beautiful and moving. I'll be nursing my emotional hangover for the rest of the night!
Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry: Marriage of Mass Destruction (2023)
Why did they put this show back to it's original format??
Season 7 - Ep 1-10 was so good. They changed the narrator, they took away the stupid "happy" music (it's a true crime show???) and got rid of the dumb dramatizations. Best season of the whole show because it felt watchable. Why the hell did they bring it back for more episodes with the old format, old music and narrator? I can't stand to watch it again!!! True crime shows need to have good chemistry between the narrator, the story, how they tell it and the dramatizations being at a minimum. Why anyone would make a show about crimes with comedy music I have no idea. I'm so disappointed. As these new episodes seem to be straight to dvr, I'm hoping when season 8 returns they will rethink the set up. What was such a good change for the show has now gone backwards and ruined it completely. Not a happy viewer!
Jurassic Park III (2001)
Was hoping a dino would take out Amanda Kirby tbh
This is my least favourite jurassic park movie out of the 6. Dominion is probably the next worst and the only people that saved both of these was the original characters. When I binge the two trilogies, this is the installment I like the least, however I can still sit through it.
My main gripe about this movie is how thick the Kirby's are. Mainly Amanda Kirby who is the most frustrating, annoying, dumb character I could ever imagine! The type of people who get everyone killed.
Apart from that, I just deal with this one, and fast forward the boring bits. I hear there's another movie on the way and that dominion may not be the last, which I'm kind of glad about because ending the world franchise with dominion is a complete let down! The first two movies in each franchise are still the best ones hands down.
Fire Country (2022)
Getting a lot of hate for not being realistic when it's not meant to be
A lot of people are hating on this show, but I've enjoyed it from the drop!! I know it's not as realistic as it should be, the cgi isn't too great. But if you are watching this show for being just like real life and completely 100% factual, You will be let down. I go into this just like I go into Chicago med, fire and 911 which I love. Knowing It's as much about the characters and their relationships as it is about fires. If you want factual, watch a doco. A dramatized version of fire fighting is never gonna be like it is in real life. If you are gonna bag this, bag One Chicago, greys anatomy and every other dramatized show about real life emergencies. Enjoy it for what it is, or stop watching and complaining. I for one, Love this show. Bode is very hot and his chemistry with Gabi is off the charts! I hope it keeps going past season 2!
Nope (2022)
Did i enjoy it? Nope!
For the life of me I cannot understand why critics raved about this disaster. Where do I even start? The main female was painful to watch, her over the top persona grated on my every nerve whenever she opened her mouth. I couldn't even hear the dialogue half the time because both actors mumbled most of it.
This movie ended and I still had no idea what was going on. It took too long to get going, there was too much filler and pointless storyline. What did the monkey massacre have to do with any of it? I had to Wikipedia the plot summary to actually figure out what I just watched. While that helped me understand. It still made me feel like I wasted 2 hours of my life. It was basically 140 minutes of nothing. I don't know what jordan peele was trying to achieve here. I still can't believe people have raved about this movie. It had a potential to be great, it had good special effects. But it missed the mark so hard. It's a Nope from me.
Alien Abduction (2014)
4.8 is a little rough!! I think this movie has a lot more about it than people assume
Now, I've only seen this movie once. And I plan to again at some stage, I actually went looking for it and got it confused with another movie that had a similar name. There's a reason it stuck out to me. You will find me covering my ears and eyes when it comes to ghost type movies, I still love them regardless, but alien movies are my favourite. They also hardly ever scare me because monster movies and aliens are my favourite genre. I can enjoy them without the suspense and anxiety of a big jump scare . It takes a special kind to make me clutch my chest because my breath got caught in my throat, Signs did it the first time I watched it, but it's quite tame in retrospect and I can enjoy it now without batting an eyelid
but this.... This freaking movie, made me jump so high in some parts. It's creepy, which I think the found footage helps establish that overall feeling because you don't know what's gonna jump out. The story may be a little lame but overall i felt it did what it was designed to do. Dark skies also can give off a similar vibe. It's all in the delivery for me! I don't think it gets enough credit! I get it if you aren't into found footage, you may not enjoy it, but if you want something a little less known and you love aliens , it may pleasantly surprise you!
The Listener (2009)
First season was great. Then it changed. No thanks
I love the idea of a paramedic helping people and hearing thoughts. Love season 1. Then I find out in season 2, Charlie is gone, he's no longer a paramedic and brings down political assassinations and drug lords??? Wtf did you do to this show and why did you feel the need to change it so dramatically?? I'm turning it off after season 1, totally bored now. You ruined a show with a lot of potential. Disappointed !
The Swan Princess: The Mystery of the Enchanted Treasure (1998)
Fail
I loved the first movie, the second one was okay, disappointed John Cleese wasn't jean bob anymore as hes my favorite character. But the third one...what happened to the animation??? it looks low budget like a sat morning cartoon! except for the flashback which was taken from the first movie. They really should have stopped after number 2, this just makes the rest look bad!! Derek's voice has changed but its not as recognizable as jean bob..Rogers also looks very strange. I also don't understand where Rothbart came from. I thought he died! This movie made me want to turn it off, as much as i love the first one, i was very disappointed with this installment. They will never beat the original!:)
