The Mistress (2022)
No black people were harmed in the making of this film.
There was a more interesting plot with the the blond thot neighbor and the husband, me thinking she would seduce him over the wife only to be subverted for a haunted house plot twist with the wife being the hero; the most boring , bland, annoying, shallow, oblivious, unappealing, useless character in the entire movie. The lace front wig on the best friend was trash. The black women seemed more like trophy wives rather than actual characters. They might have have well been foreign-owned mail order wives from thailand. The plot seemed more consumable following the husband and in figuruing out why hes being stalked or whatever but then the cinematography got more and more confusing as it went on. Also, only white people died or bled which was unbelivable.
The Mother (2023)
The Maxwell karaoke singer at the end was a disrespect to black culture.
Starting all the way at the end. How dare you. How dare you. How dare you Have that trash singer sing Maxwell's version of that song. Anyone less than Maxwell is a complete disrespect to black culture. It is an insult. Maxwell If he did not write the song originally, there is no voice better heard other than his voice. Next to Jesus Christ, angels of the Lord themselves. Person singing that song was trash and also out of tune on several notes and all of that yodeling that she was doing got On my freaking nerves. Most of the movie was trash. A montage appeared when i knew it was gonna be a montage. How do you get hit by a car in the middle of an open field? Out of nowhere, like it's a surprise. Did you not see that car coming several miles down the road on the route? J Lo, You just escaped from an international terrorist crime Lords. Why would you have a baby if you are also International crime mercenary who human traffics children across the world. Why would you think that'd be a good idea? To keep the baby immediately after you have just Ratted out the international crime Lord terrorist human traffickers hideout to the FBI. What made you think that you would be safe When you have gotten impregnated by the International Crime Syndicate Human traffickers who are elite mercenaries that kill withOut a whimper or without hesitation. You are a fool if you want me to believe that this character should have any of my sympathy for all of the crimes that J Lo has done. And furthermore, we are following the exploits of J Lo, the human trafficking, Mercenary, Murderer who did not save any of the children or the families that was human trafficked. No 200k for them. No. She skipped all of them and went after The unfamiliar Daughter that she supposedly has had that she left for dead anyway because when she had gotten stabbed she did not try to put glue in her stomach like the black man safe From Harm on the Kitchen Floor. But when she got stabbed in the stomach, the only thing she did was ignite an entire bomb. And take a shower.
Now if you want to tell me that the shower was supposed to save the baby. I don't believe you because... Enough is enough. Yes, that was a reference to the movie that J Lo was in.. And in that movie, she also found herself Dipping and dabbling with toxic men who were obviously dangerous to her livelihood and yet here she is again getting it in the rear from dangerous Crime Lord mercenaries who are also human traffickers that kill Without hesitation. Lastly, I thought it was really obvious. The filter on J Lo's face kept glitching. I could literally see her cheekbones glitching like it was the Matrix. Her own face could not be on her face, her CGI face. Did not fit on her own face and it just looked weird. She looked like that weird vampire lady from the Adams family. Every time she looked at the camera, she had this weird glowing light on only her cheekbones and eyelids, and it was very obvious that she was using a face filter. And that was not her muscles in the beginning of the movie then. Later on when they did flashbacks they did not use the aging technology, she just looked regular. Though it was supposed to be 12 years earlier. But we only have enough budget for that opening scene in the snow? That we only have enough time to put on the CGI for her face in those scenes and then ran out of money. I don't know. I wasnt even going to review this movie until the deplorable Maxwell cover came about. One star because of that.

Need more black eastern cinema like this
I give it a four because black films not saturated with USA culture is needed. Igive it a five because i love to see dark skinned with their natural hair. Need more Juju in my thriller movies.
Black women in American films are exploited pitifully. I laughed when the preacher said IHave Done It. Sir you sure did not. LOL

Rainey Storms (2023)
no. Leave Jesus out of this.
Ear-lina, never do this again. Black women portrayed in the worst context. Auntie messing up lines . Terrible blocking in scenes. Dude saying ''am-u-lance.'' Scarb ebonics. The main character falling out her clothes. Hair and nails never changing over months. Flaky lace-fronts. I cried laughing when ol girl said ''WE WENT TO THE CONSURT ...THIS WEEKEND..INALANA.'' The female detective looking at the camera was hilariously bad. Every time a woman mentioned drinking, promiscuity, or any other negative character trait, a gospel song would play. Tonality wrong af. Got black women looking and sounding like clowns. This has stage play published for screen written all over it.
Evil Dead Rise (2023)
Evil Dead Rise? Nah. Men Dead. Evil Rise.
I absolutely hate movies that start with the end at the beginning. "Some days earlier" or "several hours ago" Why ruin it for me? Just suprise me at the end. The ONLY movie to pull it off for me successfully was the first Saw movie. To preface, I've always been a fan of Sam Remy's Productions. I have the entire series of Hercules on DVD. In this movie however I noticed some things that made no sense to me. One thing Im noticing lately in scary movies where women are the lead actresses, the lead role, the protagonist, Etc, the men that are the most intelligent or the most strongest MUST die. In this movie literally all the men die. But not without a lack of trying which led to their demise in the first place. There was a plot point where a baby was involved which I think was used to gain sympathy for the female audience. It doesn't come up later in the film though. Maybe it will be relevant in a sequel which they hint at at the very beginning and at the end. But if you're not going to explain it or use it as a plot device in the original film then why included at all? Why even make it a thing about the characters personality to be pregnant. Being pregnant is not a personality trait. There's one scene that bothered me in particular (because Hollywood is weird I have a sneaky suspicion that this might be the case I don't know). So, there is a method in cinematography called 'blocking' where characters are placed in specific areas of a scene to enhance the visual narrative or the cinematography using the performers. Sam Rami does this well, almost exaggeratedly, where characters will be in one area of the screen very close to the camera and then other characters will be far away in the background for dramatic effect Etc. But this one scene is where the blocking was carried on for a long period of time. It's when this little girl is in a bathing suit standing next to her aunt. They have the angle of the camera in portrait style where we can see the front of the girl's body and they show her full body from head to almost her ankles standing in the bathing suit. Then the camera switches to the POV of the girl looking at the aunt who was talking about taking a bath. Then the camera switches back to the POV of the aunt looking at the girl still standing there stoic...static...full body in the bathing suit. This happens back and forth for almost a minute. The shot of the camera is long drawn on the little girl in the bathing suit. I thought this was weird as the little girl in any other scene, they would dramaticize her behavior and actions by either panning the camera, zooming in, or giving her close-ups. There's a point where she in one moment is being tossed around excessively by the demon. In the bathroom scene however where she's in a bathing suit, the camera is very still and focused on her full body. Maybe because this is a "female driven movie" that there is some empathy for mothers and sisters trying to engage with their daughters and nieces in the bathtub or in the shower, like a bonding experience or something? I don't know but I thought cinematically that was really strange and I felt uncomfortable. To eliminate all of the strong and/or intelligent men in a female-led film I guess is a trait to make it seem more scary to a female audience because the thought would be "oh no! I am helpless and there are no strong men around" but then the women also surprisingly will become very strong and athletic and then defeat the monster or the threat after being pummeled and tossed around for an hour and a half. This is that case. A lot gore. Cinematics and Folly/sound effects were good. I'm still confused about a few things such as: Is the blood contagious or not How does a thousand pounds of liquid not crush you? Where are the other people that live in this building not hearing all of this violence going on? What about the book; just leave it? The dead bodies. No one sees them; is this like Rec and Rec2, where they just gonna catch up later?
Red Woods (2021)
Top 3 Next to Blair Witch, Rec, Paranormal Activity
This is the best "found footage" movie I've seen since Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch Project (but ONLY the originals, not the sequels). I really liked the plot. There was a plot twist that I was expecting. It happened. Which made me satisfied. I also liked how the cameras were used in different perspectives of the movie. Whether it was high definition 4K or the old VHS camcorders. That made it interesting and gave attention to detail. The main characters villain with the blonde wig was kind of off putting, but I guess that added to the crazy. Maybe it could be that it was a real wig and he was just crazy. The red herring with the older couple was good. Because it made me think they would be involved somehow, like in Wrong Turn movie. The main character having some PTSD it was a good plot point and the Jack character was great supporting role As well. This wasn't a campy horror film with big, ***** women. I mean...these two do... but they are regular people and they all had unique character traits; not just eye candy. Makes them interesting and seem more real. I think this movie deserves a lot more credit and should get more accolades. Don't make a sequel, however. It's good as it is. This reminded me of films in the 90s Like Seven or 'Fallen. The older films, People were trying to solve murder mysteries and the only thing they had was their wits. No cell phones, apps or selfies Millennial or Gen. Z to make it look corny or stupid. This was great.
Those Who Call (2023)
At exactly 44 minutes, you can hear maracas. Yeah.
With latin actresses. Ironic, is it? This movie is very, very boring. It is the most boring couple of girls I've ever seen in a scary movie. Clothes are boring. Their hair is boring. Their makeup is boring. Their facial features are the same. They look the same. It's hard to tell them apart. Costuming makeup design should be ashamed. The 1st 10 seconds of the movie are the most interesting part of the film. There's a Caucasian girl who is chased by some satanic cult and a man with no face. I am more interested in that part of the film. For an hour and 20 minutes, these two girls, boring girls, just talk to each other. There is a Caucasian man, missing teeth and a little white girl. I would rather follow HIS story. But he's gone. They are standing behind train tracks in front of a gas station but claim they are lost. Just follow the train tracks to the nearest post office. Just follow the train tracks to the nearest train station. Movie is bland. Very, very bland. Also the tennis balls with smiley faces?
Knock at the Cabin (2023)
The Mist is a better movie. Oxi-Morons is a better movie
The little Asian girl should have sacrificed herself in the end. That would have been a better plot twist. An innocent child with no ties to anyone and no full life to live giving herself selflessly is more impactful than two asinine dudes. The little Asian girl should have sacrificed herself in the end. Above Suspicion (2019)
E. Clarke getting beaten to death to atone for Terminator Genesys gets two stars
The fact that this was based on true events makes it worse. This lady Susan kept saying gimmicky things like "don't call me Susie." Which has nothing to do with character plot development whatsoever. It was a useless pointless movie trying to make dumb hick controversy into a deep emotionally impactful drama. The main characters were all very stupid. And the main characters were always saying and doing dumb things. I am not an FBI agent, and even I knew an FBI agent sleeping with informants is a big no no. FBI agent in the movie did it anyway. She had all the money and opportunity given to leave town. Shid. She could have just hoarded and sold drugs herself and left town. And to find out at the end that this was based on true events is what made it worse. To find out that actual people did this in real life. Simpletons of the 90s era doing stupid, Jerry Springer **** and somehow was made into a one hour and 40 minute film. I'd rather watch the movie about Jerry Springer himself. This was dumb. It was a movie just to get. Emille Clark naked again, like she had been in Game of Thrones. That's all they wanna do is see her naked. No judgment. Get your money. Get the bag, sis. Please don't do stupid *** movies like this unless it is meant to be funny. Ironically. This was funny in how bad these people were making decisions. And all the men were treated like **** because of this woman's actions. Not sure if that happened in real life, but, care, I don't.
See for Me (2021)
A lot of people die bc of entitled lead character
Everyone died because of this blonde 110 pound blind girl. Period. How? Question mark. How did this girl defeat all these men? Why did the cop not call back up? Why did the mom be so cautious but never called to check up on her daughter? The rest of the film why would this girl who is blind not listen to her friend who helped her win medals in the first place? He had morals but fvck him because hes not female nor blind. Why are you stealing from these people? The entitled woman divorcee has this expensive mansion But no ring Cam in 2021? Wtf You doing. Why would you rob a House with only a knife? And at the end of the movie, not only did she become blind, she also became paraplegic. You stupid dumb. Stupid dumb girl. Now you're double paralyzed and at the end of it all, you tried to rob people and you killed several people but oh well. She gets to go back to practice. Go team. And the girl who was a veteran isn't even a veteran, only because they put an American flag in the living space of 300k condo. What veteran has all that money in that expensive house with all of those monitors and TVs? Unless you want to say she was a Twitch streamer for video games, that's the only army reference that they made, she plays Call of Duty professionally. I would have believed that before I believed she was an actual veteran. And since it was in the time period of 2020, what Army type business did she do? Was it desert storm? Mission accomplished? Did she go and fight Osama bin Laden and defeat him? Look at Her body. She didn't even do eight weeks of basic training, by the looks of it. Didn't have anything to signify that she was a tactical, logical thinking weapon of mass destruction hired by the US government. If Anything she is seen sitting in front of a TV monitor playing Xbox while eating pizza and getting fat. She Was a loser. Id Have been more comfortable with her admitting she's just a loser video game nerd then some Army veteran, the bio says ''vet'' just to boost the ego of the second protagonist character in the movie. The cop was dumb. She's by herself and she thought she could take on three 200pound plus men who are supposedly armed and dangerous, yet she went in solo when she should have led the little scrawny blind girl back outside to the police car and wait for backup. She got yeeted by the neck and died. Ohh well. Several people died because the Olympian needed to be humbled. Gee i hope the husband she killed wasnt trying recover his loss from his i-didnt-give-him-any-kids-but-im-entittled-ass wife's divorce settlement. Miss me with this one.
Nocebo (2022)
Blame Caucasian lady for poor mom's choices/Freddy Krueger is more justified
At first I thought it was gonna be really good at the end to figure out why the Filipino lady is trying to kill the white lady. Maybe she wants to take over her life and become rich, successful and privileged like the white lady? But that's not what happened. Instead, it's a revenge movie where somehow the white lady, by proxy, killed her daughter even though the Filipino people, including the mom is the only one who made the mistakes. So yeah. You could say, "It was the mom's fault because she had asked to put the lock on the door." Reality is life gives you choices. Filipino Lady chose the job in the sweatshop and to bring her daughter. And she chose to leave her daughter alone around negligent strangers and **** happened. If anything, she should have used her powers to kill the manufacturer of those buildings in the Philippines and probably made the conditions of work environments a lot better for her own people, instead of coming all the way across the ******* country to ruin someone else's life. Also, there's this fat Filipino guy who instead of putting out the fire logically by covering it up. He decides to fan the flame with more oxygen. You get a bigger fire. Really. All the Filipino people were stupid? Caucasian businesswoman was smart? She wasn't mean to the Filipino people. She was just being smart about her business. You SHOULD have security on your wares and you SHOULD have an accountant of your stuff. She didn't ask for a superfluous amount, she says a number, and then she asked for like 5 more pieces. That was supposed to be strenuous on the work? I don't know. Maybe hire more people, Filipino man, I don't know. It was a long reach, a very long reach to blame this Caucasian woman who had nothing to do with the working conditions of this company that was contracted to make her clothes. Freddy Krueger nightmare on elm street made more sense.
The Offering (2022)
Pay property taxes ...or else.
GClearly, this movie will only translate to one culture of people (watch the movie to understand). Basically, pay property taxes or else a demon will eat your wife and child. For all the love and humility that a culture is known for, they sure did not act like it in this movie (Unless it was biblical). A lot of the problems could have been solved if they all just started a Cash App or Go-fund me to fix the family's financial Issues. God forbid the wife, after losing the house, get an actual job and work a 9 to 5 with the husband to recover the loss. God forbid they actually have to do some hard work and the husband be a man about it. Made a bad financial decision? Ohh no. The demon of baby-eating is coming. Dang. Saterical.
