Makes wrestling seem stupid.
27 February 2002
I myself am an avid wrestling fan, I have liked it all my life and I even wrestle for a local promotion. I heard about this film and thought finally a film about wrestling, but after watching it I was devastated because I knew that non-wrestling fans would watch it and think that that was A) the way wrestling works and B) the way wrestling fans act. This was supposed to make wrestling look good, but in my opinion it does the complete opposite, packed with child-like humour which could be bettered by anyone with half a brain, and makes you believe that all fans think wrestling is real, which we all know it isn't it should be seen as a entertainment not as a sport. Now I know there are wrestling critics out there who say its for kids anyway, therefore having a film containing childish humour should be fine but this is not the case. I know certain things are far fetched to say the least but I find it more entertaining than most other "real" sports. But in conclusion, if you are a wrestling fan, I'd watch the film, but for god's sake don't get your hopes up before watching it, so that anything that does appeal is a bonus.
