Unexpectedly good, has the potential to be a Christmas classic
27 December 2023
December 24 and the family in a slight discussion about what movie to watch, the children with their drawings and the others who did not want to see that, almost by default and thinking that it would just be a Christmas lunch, we decided on "the taste of Christmas "and what a pleasant surprise :)

From the beginning you can see that it is a film made with love, very well written, filmed, acted and thought out; which allows us to enjoy these festivities away from the snow and cold so typical in these films, on the contrary, in a more American environment, with sun and mariachis, specifically Mexican, and so thanks to this film and other gems like Coco, we Little by little we get hooked on this ancient culture, it takes us a little away from the cliche of "criminal gangsters" that other productions strive to reinforce to invite us to enjoy the good, funny and peculiarities of this part of the world, simply by telling us 3 unrelated stories that, thanks to the magic of these holidays, end up relating in a very pleasant way.

Rating:
  • IDEA 8/10.- The stories, although relatively original, are still simple everyday stories.

  • STORY 10/10.- very well told and produced, with a large dose of comedy, some drama and action, although it is not shocking, it knows how to hook you and keep you very attentive, with situations of all kinds and with a great message. - SCRIPT 9/10.- fits strongly into the film.

  • CHARACTERS 9/10.- excellent, although the scenes are not very complex, they play their roles very well.

  • EFFECTS 8/10.- The film has a very good recording quality and the soundtrack is precise when needed.

  • ENTERTAINING 9/10.- You will hardly get bored with this film, it is very complete, its large number of comic scenes and interesting drama will keep you connected throughout the film.

PG (Under 8, with parental control) some mild violence and skin, if seen, nothing important.

In conclusion, a film with the potential to be a Christmas classic at the level of my poor little angel; comedy, reflection, message, however it is more attached to native America, with a message and development much more attached to reality, which in the end, ends up resulting in a better film, full of good vibes and optimism.

Talk to Me (I) (2022)

Well done, from start to finish...
3 December 2023
Lately, pleasantly and surprisingly, I have come across some pretty good horror movies and this is no exception.

Movies that stand out for its story or also how well put together they are, in this case I would say that it has a little more of the latter, from beginning to end it is well produced, well told, the actors do it very well and the story makes a lot of sense , entertaining, keeps you in suspense and has its moments of density without falling into the always easy extreme gore.

In this way, we have:

  • IDEA 7/10.- Although it is a little more of the same, it has its touch of originality.

  • STORY 7/10.- they took the trouble to at least put it together very well, make it credible and tell it in a great way.

  • SCRIPT 7/10.- what is necessary, neither more nor less.

  • CHARACTERS 7/10.- They do it quite well and even very well.

  • EFFECTS 8/10.- credible, well achieved and not so exaggerated, although it has its dose of gore.

  • ENTERTAINING 8/10.- We started watching it at midnight (and I'm one of those who fall asleep at that time if it's not well entertained) and no, I didn't fall asleep for a single second, its dialogues, situations and everything in, They actually come together very well to keep you hooked and awake all the time.

Age R (Mandatory for those over 13 and with parental guidance).

Entertaining, well put together, acted and told, its story also stands out a little as well as the dialogues, what more could you ask for? Look at it, it's very good, although it's a little more of the same.

A movie that every entrepreneur/dreamer should see
30 July 2023
I don't want to go on too long, but I think that every teenager should see this type of film to get love for business and not for drugs/temptations/worldly pleasures and nonsense things.

It is a film that although we do not have any physical action, the story, dialogues and actors are so good that it does not get boring and it manages to get you excited, one of the few that I would repeat with pleasure, being so we have:

  • Idea 7/10
  • Story 8/10
  • Script 9/10
  • Characters 9/10
  • Effects 7/10
  • Entertaining 8/10

Age PG (has a formal US rating of R, but I have no idea where they get that rating from, I firmly believe it's wrong, apart from a tantrum a character throws while swearing, the rest of the movie is totally bland, yes, perhaps to an audience that only thinks of bullets or strong scenes, it may be boring)

Beautiful, Thoughtful, Sentimental, with dialogues that hit you
11 June 2023
The plot is simple, but its emotional depth hits, this is increased by the tremendous quality of the actors and the script.

  • Idea 6/10.- presents us with a simple but not so normal situation in the lives of most people.

  • Story 7/10
  • Script 10/10.- the dialogues hit you, it is impossible not to reflect and fall into sentimentality, look down and say 'well, what a sad ;('
  • Characters 10/10.- We have few actors, but they do great, especially Fraser, Sink and Chau, they achieve perfect performances.

  • Effects 9/10.- The makeup is perfect and the soundtrack is necessary in the few moments when it is needed.

  • Entertaining 8/10.- It completely hooks you, although the genre is drama, it is a drama that catches you and you don't want to let go, you want to intervene, you want to help, you want to understand, definitely a mature audience will not be indifferent.

Age PG13 (-13 but with parental guidance)

A beautiful film that, although it has its very few daring scenes, I would say that the whole family could like, although those who enjoy it a lot are people with a mature mentality.

The rhythm is a bit annoying, it doesn't hook but...
6 June 2023
I think it's the soundtrack, it's a bit dark and tiresome at the same time, I dislike it a bit, however:

  • Idea 6/10.- slightly original.

  • Story 6/10.-As a criticizes to the false world of Influencers, it goes very well, although he brings it to light, he does it very lightly so it really doesn't have a message in that sense, or in any other way.

  • Script 6/10.- a couple of deep dialogues.

  • Characters 7/10.- They do their job, neither more nor less, the script doesn't help much.

  • Effects 5/10.- practically non-existent, what is noticeable to a large extent is the 'suspenseful music' which, at least for me, is tiresome and annoying.

  • Entertaining 6/10 - Frankly, half the viewers fell asleep.

Age: PG13 (Over 13 with adult supervision)

I honestly couldn't recommend it to anyone, but if you don't have anything else to do... I guess it's fine.

The idea seems good to me, but the rest...
30 April 2023
When it was recommended to me, I found it interesting, although I had already seen a few similar movies, however, with low energy but with desire, with snacks and predisposed I hit PLAY, perhaps it was those same low energies that prevailed against the desire or perhaps it was actually a mix of the following:

-Idea 6/10
  • Story 5/10
  • Script 4/10
  • Characters 5/10
  • Effects 4/10
  • Entertaining 5/10

Age R (+ 13 but with adult guidance)

All this achieved that 30% of the film was in the arms of Morpheus, the story is pretentious but slow, the bland script, the boring characters (they are already boring with the tale of the adolescent who is a murderer simply 'for no reason'), the effects non-existent (neither soundtrack nor visuals).

All this points to a good idea, but poorly produced = BORING.

A round, beautiful and typical film, but not so typical.
21 April 2023
A nice story, somewhat typical and atypical at the same time.

To those of us who left adolescence behind recently or not so recently, it will surely bring us beautiful memories and at times it will extol our scenes behind the video game with a somewhat dreamy air, bringing it to reality, to family life, to day to day of work and life, with its problems and joys. This mixture between the real thing and the 2d video game is a very big and pleasant plus.

Then we will move on to complete science fiction, to a fictional world, which will bring with it, in addition to a good load of memories, a large amount of adventure and action. Here, the story leaves the everyday behind and we find ourselves with adventure and more adventure, with little context, since the context is provided by the video game, it is nice to see how the characters, antagonists and main challenges of Donkey Kong and Mario, little by little little are fitting into history; With pleasant surprise we see how some characters are given another meaning, an example of this: 'the princess', who little fulfills her role as a damsel in distress to become a strong and valuable character BUT, preserving all her feminine, sweet and pleasant. The main Bad guy is not so typical either, he's a love-struck bad guy and SOMETIMES kind of cute.

The ending also follows the same formula, satisfying, beautiful, with a lot of action, mixing the real world with the video game, yes, all this in a good-natured, calm environment suitable for all audiences, without being childish, however for some reason it is rated PG (with parental guidance) however I think it is more than suitable for all audiences.

Rating -Idea 8/10
  • Story 7/10
  • Script 6/10
  • Characters 7/10
  • Effects 7/10
  • Entertaining 8/10
