The Fall Guy (2024)
far too long
This film really drags. The pacing is all over the place and the film would have benefitted from being at least an hour shorter ( if not more).
The overly long running time is a symptom of director David Leitch enjoying some self indulgence but after a while I found all the cutesy pop culture references really irritating.
I like Ryan Gosling but he doesn't work as a replacement for Lee Majors likeable stuntman Colt Seavers.
I've never understood why Emily Blunt is famous and after watching " The Fall Guy" I'm none the wiser.
Aaron taylor johnson has never been memorable in anything I've seen him in and he isn't here.
Probably one for home viewing.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024)
Very enjoyable. Loved the Bond connection
I only went to see this movie because it has a connection to Ian Fleming, the creator of the character of James Bond 007.
I was very pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the film, far more than I ever thought that I would.
I can't comment on whether the film is historically accurate, and to be honest I don't care. I enjoyed the action and the humour.
The cast were uniformly excellent and I had a great time watching them.
Like all Guy Ritchie movies it has some eccentric aspects but its still the Guy Ritchie movie that I have enjoyed the most in years.
Go see it. You will probably enjoy it.
