Disturbia (2007)
got me at the edge of my seat
I really like the story and the vibe of the film. You can kinda relate to Shia la beouf as a teenager on house arrest. The little lovestory with his new neighbour girl is also heartwarming and brings another side to the movie. Some Scenes were kinda ridiculous, as the neighbor (who's suspected to be the serial killer) starts to butcher a deer in his second floor room with all the lights on. And also when Shia la beoufs friend went into the garage of the serial killer to get his phone and started to look around to find out where the bad smells comes from. At this point the neighbor was already very suspicious and no one wants to be in his garage at that point. These type of scenes didn't made it great great great.
Even though of some of these scenes, the movie did what a thriller is supposed to do. It has a nice build up and the tension really rises through the film. Without any violence. Call me dumb, but I really couldn't tell to the end if the main character is just paranoid because he also has this trauma with his dad and everything. And the police officer in the beginning just said that people tend to go crazy during house arrest because they have nothing to do. Also the escalation really got me on the edge of my seat. The scene where you again think that Shia la beouf is tripping, because his friend trolled him and was in his wardrobe is great. He sees the video his friend has taken in the killers house. And in a little detail you see this head of a dead body through a grid. Now you know everything is true and he really is the killer.
At this point his mom is already at the killers house to say "sorry for the disturbance"
Very solid and good movie for me. Not great but very entertaining.
The Contractor (2022)
Absolutely underrrated
The Movie was exciting for the whole time.
The acting of the main character is great.
The story, even if I don't know anything about the American special forces, seems pretty authentic to me. Sometimes you think "does this really happen in the real world" and sometimes the movie makes you think "somehow this has to happen in the real world too". I think that's the mix a film should have. I think the movie is very underrated here because a good movie doesn't always have to be with the greatest plot twist even though this had a good one in my opinion.
It's again about morals and what really matters in the end for us humans. And even that nothing is as it seems.
Great movie really liked it!
