Copy of a classic...
9 February 2003
This short tv series by Lee Evans (great comedian), is a near copy of the 70's classic "Some mothers do 'ave 'em". Ask enyone who seen it, I seen one program and had to agree it was about a guy (daft voice etc) who is a walking disaster area, (de ja vu).

Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em (1973–1978)
Very funny
9 February 2003
Brilliant comedy in the 70's, have watched repeats on uk gold, still as funny as when they were first aired. Micheal Crawford plays a guy who's a walking disaster area, nothing goes right for him, his daft voice is a laugh.

The 70's british tv was brilliant when you look at the other comedys that were aired during the 70's they include....

Monty pythons flying circus Fawlty towers On the buses "Carry on" movies

Who said the 70's were bad

this comedy gets 9/10, Crawford also did all of his own stunts.

Very funny, weird, ahead of it time
9 February 2003
Monty pythons flying circus, now 30 years on still looks as funny as it did when it was first aired, ahead of it's time, famous sketches that are almost legendary.

Joins the like of "Some mothers..", "Fawlty towers" as great 70's tv series.

Superb, Bad ending
5 October 2002
After watching this again recently and buying it on video, I had seen it about 5 or 6 years before that, first time in school I first seen this film and suprised me how scary it was. You have to watch this 3 or 4 times to understand a spooky film. The 3 hours running time is mainly due to flashbacks. The story is basicly about 7 adults who promised to return if "It" came back, One of these 7 adults Mike - (Tim Reid) still lives in Derry, and once again after years of seclusion "It" comes back and starts killing children again. Mike starts to phone his 6 other friends to tell them that "it" had returned, the flashback of all 7 adults follows in shortish stories on how "It" terrified them, some scary stuff in some parts. "it" Is acted by the brilliant Tim Curry, who steals the show.

I liked this film a lot and give it a 8.5/10, only the ending with the monster under the clown suit is fake.

Still, I suggest you watch this film at some time, watch it 2 or 3 times to understand it's complex storyline.

Brilliantly done, 7.5 out of 10
18 August 2002
I want to give this a 7.5 rating, I seen it fully for the fist time only a month ago on sky cinema channels. Although the story line is a bit hard to follow it is brilliantly done for the time, still looks good, although computer graphics look to simple compaired to now.

I like the bit where there is bike race inside the computer program, you feel as if you are there. Nearly all the cast play two parts, on the outside world and the computer world.

David Warner playes a "bad" guy role in the outside and as a head computer program, David Warner plays a typical baddy as in nearly all his films, he is a good actor.

Summing up a must see for people who are into computer graphics used in filming etc, and I think this film has influenced the likes of "The Matrix". Reading up on Tron, this film was highly praised for visual effects by computer, although graphics look slightly basic it is still brilliantly done. 7.5/10 for visual effect (for the early 80's) by computer.

Good tv-series
3 July 2002
I remember this when I was younger, I thought it was brilliant that there was a talking car, that could do almost anything, unlock doors, crash though brick wall without damage, etc and best of all, drive it's self, still now it was brilliantly done to have a car that could do that, with turbo jump and other accessories, although looking at the acting by Hasselhoff looks wooden, and the story lines a bit had to believe. There are repeats of this tv series still running, I still like it. I would let any youngster watch as it is well done for the time. How long will it be till we actually get cars that will talk to you or do this for real, not to long into the future.

Stunning
3 July 2002
The first of it's kind, absolutely amazing, even now over 25 years old, I seen this movie several years ago, and thought it was brilliantly done. Yul Brynner is the robotic gunslinger who has been enhanced and then he goes on the blink, hunting down Brolin as a guest, the chase lasts for some time, and ends up quite gripping, Yul Brynner plays the robotic gunslinger to a tee, and Brolin is the innocent guest. For me the best film of it's kind mixing sci-fi and western to bring an amazing film, which still to this day looks fresh, and inspirational film, I think.

Best western ever
3 July 2002
This film is for me always in the top 3 best western films ever, the camera work is brilliant, brilliantly cast. A must watch he storyline is good and eli wallach is exellent as the ugly, van cleef is bad, and of course eastwood plays goody. The ending is one of the best ever, the "Draw" which seems to last for ages, as at the beginning nothing is said for at least 10 minutes, very tense. Nothing more to be said, just sit and watch this masterpiece.

Best version of musketeers
30 June 2002
This 1948 version is the best of all musketeer films, the swordfights are brilliant, Gene Kelly does all his own stunts/swordfighting, and makes it look so simple and natural, acrobatic like, I prefer this version to any other, simply brilliant for it's time, still looks fresh, A must watch for any swordfight fanatics. Nothing more to be said on this film, Super, well cast.

A copy, shot by shot of the original
22 June 2002
This is basicly an exact copy, frame for frame of the original, all the director had done is recast and shot it in colour. Also an insult to the original, I don't think it should have been done. I prefer the original.

Brilliant car chase
12 June 2002
This film for me is famous for the car chase, (probably due to McQueen behind the wheel) I enjoy it, this car chase has been voted by many as the best car chase in film history. I have seen the whole film several times, but enjoy the car chase the most. Steve McQueen drives the green fastback Ford mustang and is chased/followed by the black Dodge charger. The chase starts off simple enough with normal driving through the busyish streets of San Fran, Suddenly bursts into high speed, a pursuit up and down the steep streets and then onto a faster road, where speeds are said to have toped over 110mph. The chase finishes when the charger is pushed off the road and into a petrol station, big explosion. A must see car chase for petrol heads. I feel this film has influenced many films over the years with car chases, like "Gone in 60 seconds" and "The fast and the furious" etc.

Carrey is funny
25 April 2002
I gave this a 5 rating due to Jim Carrey's funny antics, which keeps this films ratings up this high. Still, watch this film as the laughs/antics are all there for all to enjoy.

The World at War (1973–1974)

The best documentary you will ever see
25 April 2002
10 out of 10, this brilliant, super documentary is a must see, with film clips from the war which people did not seen for years, untill this was screened in 1974. The film clips in this documentary from the war doesn't miss out anything, some of the clips left me dumbstuck. The whole series is over 20 episodes long, and Sir Lawrence Olivier is the narrator and tells a stunning story of war. Simply this is still probably the best documentary of war still, and now over 25 years old still is able to pack a tremendous punch. You must watch this at some time, even if it's a few episodes, even at that you will still be blown away at the impact this documentary means to those who have been there suffered and died in the name of WAR, in a WORLD AT WAR..

Spooky film
4 April 2002
I seen this movie about 7 years ago in secondary school and it was very good. It's a lengthy film at 3 hours, but well worth it, sit and watch it.

All the cast play there roles well, but Tim Curry is super as "it"/Pennywise the clown. The 7 adults who are re-united again after 30 years are reminded how "it" killed other children and drove the 7 of them as youths, they must try to kill "it".

Not just as good as the first
4 April 2002
This is v.good but the first betters it, probably the part that I remember best about this film is when Gene Hackman is hit on the head and put on cocaine. Super acting ability by Hackman when he is on drugs, and equally as good when the cops help to get him off the drugs, when he has to go cold turkey.

Great Hitch film
4 April 2002
Another super classic Hitch film, great suspence, with typical Hitchcock camera angles. Cary Grant is mistaken for someone else, ending up being in the wrong place at the wrong time, where someone murders a UN representative, Grant is seen as the murderer and a mass manhunt ensues. The famous low flying airplane scene is in this film also, keep an eye out for it. Cary Grant is in the middle of nowhere and a plane starts to chase and shoot at him. The ending is equally famous ending at Mount Rushmore.

A truly great film from start to finish.
