The Cuckoo (2024)
What is it with C5 dramas that make them so bad?
Firstly, why do C5 dramas always turn out sooooo bad. They generally have a good cast, but they never ever get them right. The same cast just pop up over and over again. They play far too much dramatic music which drowns out a lot of dialogue, and are generally poorly executed.
This drama had so much promise but, as above, just didn't hit the mark. They're almost comical. Surely with some decent directors and production crew they could make them so much better. I lost interest in the second episode to be perfectly honest. I hope C5 actually read these reviews as not one of their dramas has achieved a decent rating.
Love Rat (2024)
So awful it's funny
I think the best laugh I had during this was the speed in which she hired the car... I actually laughed out loud. When Nico takes her back to his house and tells her to get inside... they then sit outside seemingly not worried that the baddie will clearly see them. Emma is so thick and gullible I had zero sympathy for her. The acting was shocking too. C5 never ever get their dramas right... they're hammy, badly scripted and the constant dramatic music drowns out a lot of the dialogue. I genuinely don't think I've ever watched one in its entirety as so diabolically bad. It always surprises me that they get some big names to star in them... although they seems to be a lot of the same actors... Sally Lindsay, Neil Morrissy etc.
The Reunion (2022)
Deleted after 20 mins
So SO awful it was almost funny. Every contrived character going, with the, quelle surprise, beautiful yet unattainable student, Vinca. After the utterly ridiculous scene where he knocks on the door of Vincas old room and the student there now has a shrine to vinca... and then puts on a red wig and tries to seduce him.... Hahah as IF. Deleted all the episodes after that...utter rubbish. A shame as such a good cast, but another laughable bit is the fact that Dirva Kerwin is cast as Thomas's mother... what... she's the same age as him in real life. So many ridiculous plot holes and cheesy script meant I literally couldn't watch anymore.
