Seabiscuit (2003)
Good movie
One of my favorite movies. Movies based off of books make me read the book, but with this, that isn't so. This movie and the Harry Potter ones are good enough that I don't need to read the book- and I read all the time.. avid reader. When I first watched it years ago, it was a little boring at the beginning. I now fast forward the beginning, as I already know it and want to watch the horse parts. I think horse people would like this movie more than non-horse people. But all movies will have people that like it and don't; different tastes and opinions, but I like this movie. There were inappropriate scenes that I'd hate when I was younger, but the horse racing is exciting. I think Seabiscuit wins... and that was like "Duh." Of course he wins. I like things that are odd/different and unlikely to succeed, so I liked the plot, the odd little horse, large jockey...
Twitches (2005)
Not the same as the books
I was a fan and reader of the books, which are awesome. This movie is great- for a Disney movie, a typical Disney movie. It is funny and cute, but that isn't like the books. I could go on and on with comparing- my sister's already heard all I thought as we watched this one and the second movie, and as I'm finishing up the series (going on the 10th book). If they made a movie or three or four (or how many it takes) to go along the books, then I'd like that. Not Disney though.. Heck, even a mini-series if done properly might be okay. But this movie is just not the same as the books. I hate the chant-phrase "It's your birthday, It's your birthday", and so I don't like when they say that. Personally, that's just lame. Tia and Tamara are getting older, but are great actresses but I liked and still like Sister, Sister... but although there acting isn't so bad (though it annoys me when they look at each other and scream... if I'm that scared enough to scream like that, I'm not going to look at my sister then scream...) this isn't their best acting. Sister, Sister to me is more real. So though its a funny, cute and magical movie (though not a lot of magic), I'd read the series that it is based off of if you haven't already. (And the sequel... well I like it more but still, like most sequels based off books, like The Cheetah Girls 2, falls even more away from the books then this first one).
Animal Farm (1999)
One scene...
I don't have much to say, but after reading 4 pages of the comment pages, which got boring because everyone said the same things, I decided to add one myself. When I was much younger, like 6 or 7, my grandma bought the movie for me. I lost interest and never saw the ending, maybe not even the middle. I forgot the title, and just now found out because I have to read the book. I've only read the first chapter so far, and then looked up 'Animal Farm movie' and found this site. The movie case came back to me (I mean, I remember it), and now I remember seeing at least some of the movie. The scene I really remember is when a horse was going to the glue factory or whatever. Being 5 or 6, (Now I think I was 5), this information was disturbing. Glue made of horses? Some kids have eaten glue. I didn't know the movie was set back in the past or anything. But that scene I have remembered off and on for years after that. I have to read the book (well, I guess I can get out of it), but I'm kind of looking forward to it because it seems interesting. Especially after reading all these comments...
