1-Ichi (2003)
For all "Ichi-lovers"
I love this movie. I know it's not perfect and can't really be compared to the great movies that occupy the IMDB top250 list, but it's great fun. It's also disgusting. There are enough face smashing, broken bones and dislocated shoulders for everyone. I really love Teah and the guy who plays the main bad guy.
I don't recommend this to those who hated Ichi the Killer, but I know that that movie has a lot of fans and those fans should see this movie. Just don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.
It's not quite as good as Ichi the Killer, but I really like it. I've already watched it 3 times so I guess it has some replay value as well.
4/5
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
almost perfect
This movie should get an oscar for the best entertainment value. It was fun, it was funny, it was clever and it had a lot of action. It had a few minor "bugs" in it, but when you're enjoying a movie this well, you barely notice them. As always Depp was perfect in his role, it was almost like he was born for that role, or the role was specifically written for him. The other actors were also great in their roles. I gave it a 9 out of 10 because I only give 10/10 to really original or somehow special films. But if you want a movie that is very enjoyable, go see this one.
John Q (2002)
Really good...
Well, you might think that the story was kinda basic and that it was nothing special. And while that may be true, you don't always need something new or refreshing to enjoy a movie. I only wish he would have killed himself just before the heart got there, so that it wouldn't have been such a miracle... miracles are good and all, but not realistic even if they have happened for real
Stealing Harvard (2002)
OK, but nothing special
It was funny, but the ending was quite stupid. It was one of the worst Jason Lee movies I have seen, but that's just because most of his films I've seen were Kevin Smith "masterpieces".
Tom Green was funny in his own way and Dennis Farina is always good. I gave this movie 7/10. It deserved 6, but since so many other reviewers have been so harsh, I thought I'd give it a break.
Highway (2002)
I can't understand that vote average
I liked this movie. It's not even close to best I've seen, but it's still a lot better than most movies that have an average of 5-8... I mean 4.9 for this... come on. The plot wasn't anything special, but I've always kinda liked Leto and Gyllenhaal and I thought their performances in this movie were pretty good. I gave it 8 out of 10 just for that and few funny scenes. It's not a masterpiece, but it definitely deserves a better vote average.
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)
One of the funniest...
Finally they got their own movie. Kevin Smith is an incredible director and Jason Mewes just fits perfectly into his role... I can't imagine anyone else playing Jay. This movie still makes me laugh, although I must have seen it like a thousand times.
Road Trip (2000)
I think this movie is better than American Pie
Many people seem to think that American Pie is funnier that this, but I think it's only because it came first. I have watched this movie ~10 times, but I couldn't watch AP more than two times. I don't really know why...
The Crow (1994)
One of the best movies I've ever seen
I have no words to describe this piece of art. OK I just loved Brandon Lee, and the dark atmosphere. The plot was pretty korny, but still kinda good. Great Movie.
I also loved the fighting scenes, although I'm usually not that much into those fighting movies etc.
