Baby Reindeer (2024)
it should be more higher than this rating and totally worth it
The trailer itself can be a bit weird and confusing, but please don't let that fool you. This show has a fair share of dark comedy, comedy suspense, drama, and chilling vibes. One can find up their neck by the end of each episode. The acting is captivating, compelling and truly engulfed in the world of the series. With 30+ minute episodes you'll know by episode one whether this is the show for you, especially by the time the credits hit. Overall, very organic, original and authentic storyline that one can say brings a fresh perspective on society and mental issues. People across the entire road could relate reflect on and learn death about the journey these characters and encompasses you in on every level.
Ripley (2024)
Incredible Netflix top tier adaptation
Loved it! The Talented Mr Ripley is one of my favorite movies so I went in thinking how could they do it again when its already perfect. While I don't think it is fair to compare them, I was completely impressed by this version. They bring a new perspective to the story. The scenery is stunning. I loved the pacing... didn't find it to be slow. I watched one episode per night and each day couldn't wait to get home to watch the next episode. A perfect performance by Andrew Scott and scrumptious lighting and set design that highlights Italy's beauty. Plus, a story that built in tension right up to the final twist. The ending was perfect too.
3 Body Problem (2024)
My new favorite epic sci-fi show!
David Benioff and D. B. Weiss deliver a solid adaptation of The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin. I enjoyed every moment of this Masterpiece! This story is a profound meditation on the dangers of people with power who think in terms of Grand Plans. This is a worthy follow up to Game of Thrones. I am looking forward to season two. The writing is excellent, the actors give brilliant performances. I highly recommend this series. There has never been a more relavent show in 2024.
Ppl need to put in mind that the book is considered a hard sci-fiction book, and nearly unadaptable, so they did a relatively good job putting together the first season. The show is not a tedious as the book is which make is watchable and more suitable for non readers. Well done.
The Gentlemen (2024)
One of best Netflix shows in recent years
I absolutely loved this show and look forward to Season 2. Theo James and Giancarlo Esposito are fantastic. I can't imagine anyone else playing Eddie better than Theo James and his lunatic brother Freddie played by Daniel Inges. Vinny Jones as Geoff is wonderful also. Writing is tight, humor is on point. I have not enjoyed a tv series this much since Breaking Bad. The show is a balanced nuance of the difficult choice for a righteous duke that find himself at the center of a massive crime syndicate on his new inheritate lands. The character growth of the duke and the flirtatious partnership with ms. Susie Glass without the flirtation being at the center of the show, makes it exciting without the romance filling up too much. In my personal opinion this is one of the greatest TV-shows that Guy Ritchie have created. Sublime cast and great narrative for the story. 10/10 would watch a season 2.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
After bomb reviewed, I really hope Netflix renew it! I'm
Got everything I wanted to see in live action. Of course some parts weren't perfect, but it was an overall wonderful adaptation of the show we grew up watching. Adapting from animation to live action is so difficult but in this case I would say they did a great job. The accuracy was amazing. I'm thankful to the producers for giving us this amazing adaptation. The live action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender has all the action, heart, humor, and drama of the original, but woth excellent casting and effects. The world of the Avatar comes alive in the live action adapatation. A must watch for all ATLA fans and non-fans alike.
One Day (2024)
Truly amazing show !!
Devastating, beautiful show. I absolutely loved it. Dex and Em's friendship, throughout the years, grow, even shuttered but survived. It was well written. Also the SOUNDTRACK of this show was amazing. Blur, The Verve, Radiohead and more, such good songs. I didn't know what to expect when I started the show, When I started the series, I thought I was watching one of Netflix's many bogus romantic series, and that it would clear my head. I was wrong. The message towards the end is relevant,
actually one of the most heartbreaking show I ever watch
so well played and so touching, I loved every single minute and I can not even think of not recommended it to anyone.
Boku no Daemon (2023)
Just wow!
This was so good I had to post about it somewhere. The kindness and love that can be shown through animation is amazing. Usually I can get a little chocked up watching a long series and than them having the inevitable sad episode, but this was on a whole other level. I don't want to really say anything about the show because it's just something you really have to watch even if you like this type of show or not. I seen a lot of people taking shots at this for it being too much like Pokémon, but honestly Pokémon took some core ideas from Shinto faith and the fact that you take a core good idea and change it into something completely different and unique is at the heart of our society. Some things are justified in the pursuit to make good entertainment.
Boy Swallows Universe (2024)
Truly amazing
I began watching for Travis Fimmel (whom I loved in Vikings and Raised by Wolves) and Simon Baker, but I kept watching for Eli and Gus's relationship. The actor who plays little Eli has quite the emotional range. All the lead actors, short of Gus, had range, but Gus wasn't meant to be outwardly emotional. (By the way, what is it with Australia and flip-flops?) This is a show where it felt real, and that's not an easy feat. A real winner. My only complaint about this show is that it was only 7 episodes. Excellent acting. Uplifting and heart breaking at the same time. I hope to hear a lot more about Felix Cameron who portrays 13 year old Eli Bell in the next few years.
Altered Carbon (2018)
Masterpiece
Arguable one of the greatest shows of all time and so little recognition. I wish I understood how shows like this don't gain the views the so deserve. This show takes you places and feel so much more than a production of sets and VFX. The ENTIRE cast delivered, in my opinion, awardable performances. In life we see and experience things that sometimes just manage to harness the "right stuff" and makes your interaction with it a wildly satisfying interaction of emotions and thoughts. I am not quite sure how Season 2 commanded a less rating than Season 1, they were both great, but Season 1 mastered the art of delivering a story and universe in an instant to the viewer. I hope everyone involved in making this production come to life continues to bring magic to Hollywood.
Monster (2022)
A mind blowing !!
I had my reservations about whether or not to watch this and I went back-and-forth for several months before deciding finally to watch it. Is it well made? Yes. Is it addictive? Yes. Did I watch it having to pause it several times due to the intensity of the material? Of course. The series is bingable and watchable. Is it appropriate to watch knowing these are real victims? I don't know. I did feel sad watching it but I am glad I watched the whole thing because I learned a lot. I learned that he could have been caught years earlier if only the racist and homophobic police would have done their job properly. It's infuriating but I hope that society as a whole can learn something from these tragedies so that another Jeffrey Dahmer can never exist again.
Beef (2023)
Remarkable , unique , crazy in good way
This has to be one of the best shows I've seen, maybe the best. I'm not sure if I loved this show too much, but the acting performances really made the plot so much more enjoyable. The acting was beyond perfect, especially from Steven Yeun. I so strongly wish to see another performance as good as his. It was really enjoyable to see that each particular moment within each episode is not just some 'filler' aspect and actually contributes to characters' future or present motivations or states of mind. Though I do slightly wish they explore George and Mia's relationship a little more. And something that still keeps me hooked on the show despite finishing it almost 2 months ago are the small intentional details that are truly complex in their meaning, such as the title of each episode, the art shown at the beginning of each episode, and much more. If you haven't seen this show yet, you really should!
The Diplomat (2023)
It deserve more recognizable and more rating
One of the absolute best things I have seen on TV--ever. Sewell plays brilliantly against his usual dark, silent-heroic type-casting; and the rest of the cast does fantastic credit to the the wonderful ironic dialogue the writers have composed. Witty, comical, complex, and thrilling all at the same time (and with essentially no filler) the story just clips along and leaves the viewer breathless. Even shots the would be filler in most formulaic plots--like our heroine climbing stairs and gong through rooms on her way to an important meeting--are made significant as they reflect her resolve and mental agitation. What is wrong the the rest of media writers that they can't come up with something fresh and original like this?
One Piece (2023)
How this only 8.4?!! It's deserve much more!
What Can I say this is by far the best executed Anime to real life adaptation I have ever seen. My only true complaint is how short each arc is but I understand that Netflix done this because it was taking a risk and shows nowadays dont have 24+ episodes per season. The writers respected the story and stayed as true to it as they could for each arc of the story. Somethings were cut I understand due to the time constraint of episodeds but in my opinion they captured the true essence of the anime. The actors played there rolls perfectly I cant complain about it. Some may complain the set looks cheaply done, but honestly anyone fan of the anime will likely love this show. Great work by everyone involved with this show! Cant wait for the next season.
The Night Agent (2023)
It's better than most of action shows in this time
Best action series I've seen in a while . Suspenseful , twists, action packed. Good plot points and fairly deep narratives without losing itself . Good acting for having mostly unknowns as the stars. If you enjoy Jack Ryan or Reacher then you'll love this show! , and in my POV this show far more enjoyable , Just like reading a good book that you can't put down, you will find it hard to stop after each episode . My family and I hardly agree on shows and usually they done after 2 or 3 episodes but NOT this one lol. They was the reason we binged it over a weekend and they hardly ever wants to do that.
The best part is it doesnt shove any one sided political nonsense to shove down your throat.
Bodies (2023)
Excellent sci-if show
This show really reminded me of Dark and 1899, but more succinct and easier to follow. Timey wimey mystery thriller set between 1890-present times. The acting is excellent, Kyle Soller (aka Syril Karn) and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd especially were fantastic, and after a bit of a slow start (stick with it), moves along at a good pace. For me it's one of my top 5 sci-fi shows . And very underrated , I literally not seeing anybody talking about this show . The finale is one of the best I've seen in recent memory, very emotional, and I'm speechless for Stephan graham acting , it was very unique . Highly recommend!
Wednesday (2022)
I can't get enough of this!
So I think that this is one of the best shows I watched in a long time. Action, there wasn't so much action in this show but the action was good and kick ass 10/10. Acting is insane and perfect. CGI, it was good-great. Villain, Crackstone is a powerful villain and a good one. Writing perfect more than just a 10/10 because it's a Tim Burton project. Story/plot, I like the story I think it's really good and it beats a lot of the CW last seasons of each show. Casting is perfect I love Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers such beautiful actresses and they put up such a great performance. Characters, I love all of the characters (especially Wednesday, and Enid) but I didn't like Sheriff Galpin I just didn't like him I don't know why he just wasn't a good character. Mystery, mystery is perfect I love the mystery I could even solve the case myself. Ending I love the ending and I'm still waiting for Wednesday S2 such an underrated show I think it should have 5-7 seasons.
The Witcher (2019)
I enjoyed it despite the inaccurate things that happen
I've only just started (2023), and I'm thrilled with all three seasons. I am always very critical of such series, and it always takes me a while to get into them. But I have to say, I watched all three seasons within a week, because I couldn't stop. After that, I watched them again at my leisure, and I am still very enthusiastic. I've now become a very big fan of Henry Cavill, and can't imagine continuing to watch the series after the main character has been replaced - Henry is The Witcher. I really want Henry back on this. Netflix must try to Figers a way or anything to how they bring back Henry !
Kingdom (2019)
We want season 3 asap!
Amazing. I'll admit, the start of the first of episode one I was not fully paying attention, and I'm not certain that was a bad thing as it only added to the mistery and intrigue. Upon the begining of Act II however, I had to shap to attention, I had to make sure I watched from the beginning of that act, and I found myself glued to the show from their, to the murky, frigid and deadly ends in this Midiæval political zombie mystery-thriller. What a ride! The cast was excellent and lived out their parts perfectly. The cinematography was breathtaking. The music was on key, or off key, in just the right fit for the feature. And the plot, the twists and turns through this action-laced piece will leave you clammoring for more. Check this piece of horror-thriller-political intrigue-period drama out, you won't be sorry. This show most back for season 3 !
Sanyanggaedeul (2023)
Very enjoyable!
Bloodhounds is quite possibly one of the best Netflix series I've seen in a while. It makes every character in the series one to actually care about and the villain isn't underwhelming at all. It's complex and at times slow, but every action sequence is worth it and not a second is wasted. The bromance that Gun-Woo and Woo-Jin show is beautiful and one that got me emotionally invested in the characters. It does an excellent job at setting up conflicts and also diving deep into the past to add more weight to the story. It seems Netflix is actually making a comeback, let's hope it lasts!
10/10.
Ojing-eo geim (2021)
Very unique very original
I was late to getting around to watch this one, cause I don't watch series all the time and even more rarely i don't watch Drama, but once I did it only took two days to binge all nine episodes. Squid Game is the best show i watched in a long time. It's original, it's interesting, it's engaging... I stayed until 7:15 AM to watch it. I watched 6 episodes in a row! It was awesome! I constantly thought that i know what was going to happen and i was always surprised that i was wrong. Until the very end, the last 10 minutes, the show kept me guessing what was going to happen. Now imagine 9 episodes, one hour each in duration... constantly keeping me guessing what's going to happen... OF COURSE I WILL STAY UNTIL 7AM TO WATCH IT!
Imawa no Kuni no Arisu (2020)
Amazing, Full of thrills
Alice in Borderland: A Thrilling Masterpiece of Ingenious Games with highly realistic visual effects - The Underrated Gem That Outshines A lot Of Overrated Show ! As an avid viewer of thrilling series, I must confess that "Alice in Borderland" is an absolute gem that deserves much more recognition and appreciation than it currently receives. From start to finish, this show delivers an electrifying experience that surpasses all expectations with its brilliant casting, exceptional acting, captivating plot, ingenious characters, and visually stunning execution. One of the best manga adaptation. Bravo Netflix.
Jigeum uri hakgyoneun: Episode #1.12 (2022)
Amazing underrated show
Fantastic addition to the zombie genre. Aside from some notable hand-to-hand skirmishes and a few passing scenes with faceless military units, All of Us Are Dead stands out among zombie shows in its decision to avoid using violence as a driver of plot and solver of problems. Specifically, there are almost no guns/swords/etc, and the protagonists never turn into zombie-killing pros. Instead, we are thrust into the crucible with a group of passionate, multi-talented, and highly-opinionated teens who must learn to trust one another and work together in order to survive. They are the last uninfected remnants of their cohort, and their school is ground zero of the virus outbreak. The cast is superb across the board. Filming favors intense close-ups of the characters' faces, highlighting the individual stories and trials of the cohort member. The dialogue (via English subtitles for this reviewer) is at times deeply moving, and at others clever and playful. Kudos to the brilliant make-up artists, and to the 1000% commitment by the zombie actors. Korean zombies are absolutely terrifying! I hear that Season 2 has been approved ... can't wait.
Black Mirror (2011)
To Much Unnecessary Hate On S06
Season 6 are different than past seasons, but just as good. Season 6 was a love letter to classic sci-fi and horror, and largely a departure from the insightful exploration of technology's societal implications. Some fans will fault it for not being "Black Mirror" enough, but Charlie Brooker (who wrote almost all episodes in all seasons) is still a great writer, and you can see it in season 6 if you are willing to look from a slightly different angle. The same depth, detail, and quality is there, but it's in different places. For example, "Beyond the Sea" is an homage to classic 1960's sci-fi books and serials, so it's not about the possible impact of 21st century social media. Instead it is richly filled with themes and details reminiscent of those writings. Similarly, some episodes are more horror than sci-fi, but written and made with the same talent and high standards we saw in the early seasons of "Black Mirror". In gratitude for what "Black Mirror" gave me in previous seasons, I'm happy to let it lead me down a different path in it. I found it almost as satisfying.
Stranger Things (2016)
Masterpiece show!
After watching the first three seasons of Stranger Things, I believe that the team that produced this TV show has done an amazing job thus far. Once season 4 came out, I watched it right away. The characters in this season were developed very well. Having all the main characters such as Will, Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Eleven in all the seasons makes it much better. The character development throughout the season was excellent and showed them growing up in season 4 which is very interesting. Now observing the new characters, such as Eddie Munson and Henrey Creel (Vecna). Eddie Munson's character was very interesting and displayed the rock era of the 80's. I thought that Eddie's role in the movie was very different from the others, but I also believe that it fit the way the season developed. When looking at Henrey Creel, I thought it was cool that they switched back and forth between him as a kid and then in the institution. The back story of the development of Vecna was very cool. I was not expecting the villain of this season to be who it was but I believe that the storyline of Vecna fit this season perfectly. Overall, I thought that this season was amazing. I enjoyed how action-packed and suspenseful the episodes were. Another aspect of the episodes that I thought was interesting was the switching back and forth between different settings such as in Hawkins, Indiana, and the Lithuanian prison. I would recommend this TV show to anyone 100%.
The Fall of the House of Usher (2023)
One of the best this year!
It's not just a horror show! It's a series that flirts with a few other genres like drama and family saga (but in compact form); a taste of a thriller... But yes, it's the horror that dominates, and I will say it's all about bad people getting what they deserve. Something that happens really rarely in real life! Oh, and Carla Gugino was amazing! I really loved her in The Haunting of the Hill House, and here she establishes herself as a versatile actress-the one who can play on both sides of the good and the evil spectrum with equal grace and talent. The entire cast was great, but she shined brightly!
