Reptile (2023)

Should have been a 3 episode short series

IMO this was way too long for a film and especially a movie that is slooooow. It had all the makings to be a great mini series with how the story flowed. I just ended up taking breaks myself as if it was a series.

Justin did good in this, he pulled off the low key almost depressed vibe.

And Benicio thankfully held up this somewhat boring and slow movie. Nothing too engaging about it but hey it is a standard murder mystery.

Nice to see Alicia again! Long time no see. But in my mind she is still 20 something so for her to be married to benicio felt weird.

Ending was kind of abrupt and didn't feel climactic, it fell short on that.

I was entertained but that's about it.

Redeeming Love (2022)

Riveting and Logan steals the movie

I give Logan Marshall-Green a 12 out of 10 for his performance in this movie! Most underrated actor there is. I started bawling when he did everytime!! Such a fantastic actor!

Movie was ok the first hour and I felt horrible so I guess it worked in what it wanted to portray. Had me hooked And the last half hour was perfect!!

I liked the leads enough, but my my what a movie this would have been with an actress like Nicole Kidman or Julia Roberts. Imagining a slam dunk and epic movie like the old classic 90s movies.

And Eric..your career took a turn after euphoria! But you play it so well. Well maybe not the Irish accent, that was decent and fun.

I haven't read the book but after watching I might go and pick it up.

Kimi (2022)

Hoping for a new The Net...

..but really came away severely lacking.

Thought this would be a good one considering who directed it but not even that could make up for a slow and boring plot. This film is short (by todays standards) but I feel like it could have been cut by at least half more.

I will concede that a) yes I wanted to know if she succeeded. Who doesn't?

And b) I liked the stuff that payed homage to the film The net and home alone (even though it might have been unintentional) about the name Angela which is the same as in The Net and Kevin double lol on his name in this film; that he was Buzz in the home alone movies, I found it funny she made a gun out of the nail gun - à la Kevin McAllister.

Other than that? Not much good of this one sadly. They could've done a better job I feel in just about everything. Decent enough to watch but won't be seeing it again.

Don't Look Up (2021)

Lacked heart

This satire made it more polarized between believers and non believers(don't care in this sense about facts because non believers won't believe it anyway). But one fatal flaw was that It lacked heart. The last 10min didn't make up for it.

Tried too hard but still missed the point for me. Day after tomorrow did this better.

Even Leo couldn't save it though his scene blowing up was great, I still didn't feel the frustration that Greta gives on a daily basis.

To sum this up: felt like Hollywood wanted to seem better than everyone else again explaining how stupid people are.

Sweetbitter (2018–2019)

Ambivalent but still a 7 star show.

Captivating but i don't know why. Maybe its Tess' eyes. Maybe its the weird relationship between Simone and Jake and even Howard. I love the weird likeability that I find myself feeling towards Howard in the second season. Even though I feel like I shouldn't. And there is a lot of ambivalence around a lot of people in this show. Wish it were more of a ensemble show. Giving me more about everyone and their stories. But mostly. I JUST WANT THE THIRD SEASON!! Da*n you for Canceling this show. Would he or wouldn't he give Simone the boot? I wanna know! Personally I think not. But still interesting enough. Binged on this show in three days and something kept me wanting more even though I didn't really like it. lol.

Rush (2014)

This show is amazing and PERFECT! Why end it?!!!!!!! And That cliffhanger NEEDS a second season!!! Wth!!! i saw all episodes during two days, could not stop! ADDICTIVE, fast paced, great medicine actually, great actors and the acting was sublime!!(omg Eve!!!! So angry for her!!!) Been watching Lucifer ofc b/c of Tom Ellis and here he shows all those great qualities That made his Lucifer absolutely amazing (well i didnt like the last season w Eve :/ hoping for a better, equally fun as it was in the beginning -season 5) and saw he did this one, gotta say i missed his accent but boy i missed the fun that this had and didnt in the later episodes of Lucifer... Love love love Rush, it had everything!!! Yes it felt like a car crash at times but Thats what made this show so good. REVIVE IT NOW!!!!

Quicksand (2019)

Not worth your time.

Worthless swedish crap (I'm swedish so I'm allowed to think this lol). Trial and flashbacks to unfold the story about Maja who is accused of premeditated murder and attemt of murder. This is a case where you (I guess - another failure by the directors) should feel empathy for her, but as you go along you don't and even worsens and you become more frustrated by the dialogue and technicalities like how scenes are shot(handheld and zooming to infinity does not make a great drama..JS) and instead annoys you. Too slow paced and not much else until the second to last episode and the final episode is of any weight and substance. Up until that point the relationships and drama seems flat and not believable(part is from bad casting and dialogue imo). And when we finally get to the end, I was WAITING for the big drama TWIST. That. NEVER. Happened. So incredably dissapointed in the ending that could have SAVED this show and made it a 6 star (out of 10) miniseries but instead recieves a mediocre 4 star review. Nice try Netflix Sweden. But I want another Bron(Bridge).

Only thing I'm glad about and for such a genre that is the focus of it all -the justice system WORKED.

The Little Mermaid (2018)

Utter rubbish

Theyve turned a decent story into a butchered mess with this tale on the ancient story. The actors are actually doing a decent performance to their bad manuscript and directing. And the rest of the production is utter rubbish. How this even got green-lit is a wonder. Mistakes that feels like not even cinematography students would make makes this so low level I cringed at times.. Oh well. That was another 1,5h lost.

Wth! Had to end this torture after 30min. Do over and do it right! But maybe change the script, director and everyone else except actors since you cant change them..though perhaps shorten Mark's parts to a one-line part.

I LOVE this show!!! OMG the last episode(episode 9) was incredible! Vincent Keller cleans up good and the that whole scene was perfect. Amazing chemistry, great plots with the police investigations, the triangle drama and romance of course! The mid season finale was amazing and the cliffie was the best one I've seen in a really long time in television. Can't wait until January 24th..think I have to revisit all episodes so far or check into rehab until then. Lol. just awesome and the fandom for this show is growing by the minute! just search on tumblr and twitter! and keep voting for this show on peoples choice awards:) amazing job Kristin kreuk and Jay Ryan does! <3
