When we talk about beautiful love stories, the movies like Autograph, VTV, Raja Rani and Meesaiya Murukku come into our mind. Now, 96 entered into this list which beautifully portrayed the reality.

The direction by Prem Kumar is simply awesome, which will surely make the sensitive people cry( I'm one among them).

The screenplay in this movie might be slow, yet it makes you travel through your childhood memories and guarantee an excellent journey.

The story of this movie might be common, but the story itself portrays reality. Hence, it would be a great watch.

The songs and BGM in this movie are purely awesome, which makes you travel deeper into the film.

Cinematography plays a vital role in the beginning. It was purely great.

The acting part is the best one in this movie. Vijay Sethupathi's natural acting, and Trisha's different acting than ever, made us travel through the film.

Characters & Casting is Nice
18 January 2024
Thanks to its director Tarun Basker's vision & style, Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, runs a riot in terms of its style and flair. Though the movie has an rather predictable storyline & screenplay, Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi pulls the all right high scoring punches, thanks to its characters, casting and hilariously astonishing dialogues spread throughout the film.

Aided with some good cinematography and an excellent humour laced screenplay Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, makes the necessary adjustments to take on the audiences hearts. Editing could have been a tad better as 147 mins is a tad too long for this film, trimming 15-20 mins would have made some wonders to the overall product. Production design, costumes and makeup were decent. Music was very good too if not spectacular. On the acting front, it was a well balanced team effort among all actors, who played their characters wonderfully well.

Overall, A must watch movie for all Next Gen movies fans of not only Telugu cinema but all over India. Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi is a coming of age cinema with a difference, as the main characters are very believable, rare for Indian mainstream cinema. This film is another classic example of the essence of new Gen filmmaking and filmmakers slowly but taking over the future of Indian cinema. 7.4 stars for a beautiful presentation of friendship and camaraderie.

Chithram (1988)

Best Movie

Despite doing it for the money, it was for a noble cause. Kalyani and Vishnu are initially feuding with each other but they do fall in love eventually. My favorite parts of this movie are the songs Paadam Pootha Kaalam and Eeran Megham. I also like the Lalettan fight scene with Sreenivasan and Shanavas. My least favorite part is MG Soman's introduction as he appears to be menacing. The scene that I hate is where Soman hits Lalettan to the ground after the chase scene in the woods. Vishnu is an escaped convict from prison but there's a backstory as to what made him that. MG Soman is the prison warden. He is married to Revathy (Lissy) who is a mute dancer in the movie and they couple have a child. One night, Vishnu discovers a man seeing her behind his back and he assumes that she's having an affair with him. He attacks the man and picks up a knife which he accidentaly kills Revathy with. I don't think Vishnu should've been charged with murder because the death of Revathy was an accident over a misunderstanding. A manslaughter charge would be more reasonable along with imprisonment for a number of years. Vishnu didn't deserve the death sentence as it's a very harsh punishment given the situation. The last scene where Vishnu asks the warden if he could acquit the death penalty makes me want to cry. The entire climax makes me want to cry also. Even though Lalettan is smiling in the last scene, it's still sad to see taken away to be killed :(. Despite that, I still think this Lalettan Classic is a masterpiece and will be for years and generations to come.

Satya (1998)

Nice Movie
18 January 2024
Ramgopal Varma's hard hitting film on the Bombay Underworld. This movie is a classic from scene one to the climax. When you see this movie you will see history in the making. A hard hitting story of a person from nowhere , Satya. How he joins the underworld gang led by bhiku mhatre. This movie gives one message hard "CRIME NEVER PAYS". The scene where chander(snehal dabi) tells a joke, the scene where bhiku mhatre satya vidya and pyaari go for a dinner, the scene where yedda scares the music director romu sagar, the theatre scene, the climax, all these scenes will go down in the history of indian cinema as classic scenes. Urmila Matondkar as Satya's Girlfriend and Shefali Chaaya as bhiku mhatre's wife are excellent. J. D. Chakravarthi is brilliant as Satya. Manoj Bajpai gives an excellent and award winning performance as bhiku mhatre. He has managed to make the character of bhiku mhatre an immortal one like late amjad khan did for gabbar singh. Govind Namdeo is brilliant as Bhau. Co-script writer saurabh shukla is superb as kallu mama. It is so nice to see that first time writers saurabh shukla & anurag kashyap wrote such a brilliant script. A special mention must be made of the best cameo since rajesh khanna's cameo in andaz, by paresh raawal as commissioner of police. Satya was supposed to be made as a songless film but co-producer Bharat Shah felt that no distributor will buy the film and it will be too tense. Music director Vishal Bharadwaj and lyricist Gulzar were roped in to provide the music for this film and they did a brilliant work. The song "Sapne Main milti hai" and "kallu mamma" are too good. This is one of the very few brilliant movies of the 90's.

I just love this movie
18 January 2024
I just love this movie, cant resist watching it again and again. Padmarajan has crafted this master piece scene by scene. All the scenes in this movies are straight from the real world. I am sure that the "Naranga soda maker" and "butcher who sells head of goat" were doing the same in their real life. The crux of the movie is the portrayal of Jaikrishnan. Lal the genius has delivered a stellar performance as Jaikrishnan. He delivers in depth and breadth the emotions and feelings of a protagonist in a Padmarajan style. Clara as a prostitute who knows in what she is going to end up is superb . She shows the deep sorrow of being forced to be a prostitute in a neutral manner. Her dialogues reflects the feelings of a prostitute who knows clearly that a normal life is a dream for them. Jaikrishanan's ideologies are simple but his emotions are complex to understand. Parvathy has acted beautifully in her part so did ashokan. Overall this movie is a masterpiece in malayalam cinema.

Section 375 (2019)
10/10
Nive Heart Touching Movie
18 January 2024
The film has some hard hitting dialogues(Ajay Bahl, Manish Gupta), which elevates the situations & the corresponding elements. The interrogation sequence, Akshaye Khanna confronting with the judges & his opening speech & closing statements along with Richa Chadha's, Section 375 keeps going on a high. It demands your attention and you'll be glued to the screen throughout. Pedantic!

Teamwork makes dream work & this holds true for Section 375. The manner in which director Ajay Bahl has extracted realistic performances from the actors is definitely laudable. Manish Gupta is a genius. The verbal jousting is loaded with details and facts. Sudhir K Chaudhary's cinematography is most appropriate. Arif Sheikh & Praveen Angre's editing is razor-sharp. Clinton Cerejo's background score is exhilarating, filling in the silences very well. Apurva Singh Rathore's casting is spot on. Spiffing! From actors in smaller roles to the central players, there isn't a false note here. It's, undoubtedly & undisputedly the towering Akshaye Khanna who steals the show. It won't be erroneous to state that it's one of his career best and memorable performances. Trailing an extreme close second is Richa Chadha, who manages to'earn her place under the sun' with her no-nonsense portrayal of Hiral Gandhi. Meerra Chopra delivers a rock solid performance. She utilises to the maximum the screen time that is offered to her. Rahul Bhat gets into the skin of his character. Watch out for the scene when he comes on the set & blasts everyone. Menacing! Shriswara speaks a lot through her silences & makes her presence felt. Krutika Desai & Kishor Kadam are authentically impressive.

Spadikam (1995)
10/10
Best movie
18 January 2024
This is the movie, the reason for which I gave Manichithrathazhu rating 9. Well, it's not all entertainer like Manichithrazhu, but the movie's Story, Screenplay, Direction, Cast, Editing, everything is in a perfect Balance, like absolute perfection.

There is a theme to this movie throughout, it is not like what you see in some movies like a dark theme like sin city or watchmen, or like themes which you see a movie showing an old era like those we see in a war movies, or like magical movies where everything in neat and clean, magical, shiny, sparkling... well what I'm trying to say is we can see the theme of movie in editing making it comical like The Hulk, you do get my point, right ? It's not that kind of theme that we get in editing, that theme of the movie is seen as a result of mutual understanding of the story, script, screenplay, direction and editing, this movie is not a result of computers but Brilliant minds who understood the story which is the backbone of the movie Spadikam

Like the director of this movie Mattel Bhadran said "There is only one Spadikam and it has already happened. Dont dare touch it", when a rumour was spread that there is going to be a remake

Well Actors too are marvelous they too understood the soul of the movie, the cast is so perfect that we could not imagine someone else in their place, Thilakan, Mohanlal, Urvashi, Rajan P Dev, Karamana Janardhanan... Everyone else awesome.

Heart Touching movie
18 January 2024
A great movie. Director Ram's masterpiece movie. Must watch in theatres . Face of indian cinema Megastar Mammootty , he is not acting but living as Amudhavan . Thangameengal fame Sadhana too were lived as paapa. A must watch. Don't miss in theatres. I Suggest to every user to watch this movie at least one. The movie asks you very direct questions and gives you many blatant truths. It is not designed to make the viewer cry. While the subject can easily lead into such moments, by design, the movie has been kept even keel. The music and background score of the movie has been excellent and aligns very well with the communication style that the movie has adopted. Emotional, but at the same time, simple. Casting has been perfect.
