The Brave Tin Soldier (1934)
Brave Tin Soldier
Hi everyone, Just wondering if you can also remember this film from your childhood ? I remember watching it as a kid on video and it kind of haunted me at the time. My Dad recorded it off of the television and i now would like to see it again. Can you tell me where it is available to buy off of the Internet ? I can only find short versions which are 7 minutes long. I remember a scene where he falls down a drain pipe or something and rats attack him, and i remember the sad ending. Is this the version i am thinking of ? If anyone can reply it would be appreciated because i loved this cartoon. If you know any websites that would be great. thanks, Mike
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)
This has been my favourite show since it jumped out of my tv screen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can probably tell I like Buffy. Ever since the first ep I've taped it and now have probably 15 tapes devoted to Sarah and the gang. Since I started watching the show I've watched Sarah's films as well and have to say that she is one of the best actresses ever. She was brill' in CRUEL INTENTIONS and I cant wait to see her play Daphne in this years SCOOBY-DOO flick! Trust she'll make it good! The eps of Buffy have got so much better over the years and the characters are very likeable. The action/fight scenes are great and I loved it when Faith (the rogue slayer) came along and they turned bad for an ep! The 5th series has been the only one thats dissapointed me so far and I hope the 7th will be as good as the 6th!
Final Destination 2 (2003)
cool film, but not as good as the original.
Dont get me wrong, i did enjoy this movie and thought it was pretty cool, but it didnt reach the original's high standards. I thought that this film relied a lot on the original and virtually had the same pace and ideas, just put into new stunts and gore though. for instance when the stoner guy is chopped up by the wire fence i felt De ja vu only an hour later and realised that it was similar to Seann Scott's death in the original; where you see seann's head slide apart you see this guys body fall apart in the same style and position. The film isnt scary at all, its funny! And the characters arent developed enough to want to see them make it. The film has obviously had some interesting plot twists though, it is just very hard for a film to live up to the origininality of the first i think. When i first heard that a sequel was being planned i thought " oh good, they're gonna ruin the story" but i was wrong and think it is definatly worth seeing and will give some good entertainment.
RATING: 6 out of 10
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
PATHETIC!
This film is the biggest load of crap in the history of films! Don't watch it, don't even associate it with the Halloween series because it's just a waist of space! If you watch it you'll be sayin' " My god I just wasted 90mins of my life for that!! " If you want a true horror film watch any of the Halloween series, that includes 4,5,6 even if they aren't perfect.
Scooby-Doo (2002)
Scooby-Dooby-Doo! Where's the sequal!
Like man, this film rocks! Atlast, I watched Scooby-Doo a few days ago and it's great. Definatly a good big screen version! There's laughs, action, and all the ingredients to live up to the cartoon. And Scoobys just as loveable as Cartoon Scooby. He looks cute, acts cute, is cute! I don't agree that this is only for under tens, I'm fifteen and I loved it! If your interested in seeing it then go see it!! The only problem I have, and I wanna get this out of the way, is that is could have been a bit longer to reach the 1 and a half hour mark. This didn't spoil the movie at all though and the movie remains hilarious to the end credits and beyond...
The action scenes are great and remain funny and frantic just like the series and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing these 2-Dimensional characters jump to life in the form of such fantastic actors! And they did a great job to say that in the entire film they had to react to CGI effects that were added later! This was done incredibly well! Now then, a look at the cast...
Scooby... Scooby is brilliant and you can't help but love the cute hound as usual! He is hilariously funny, looks authentic and realistic while still remaining comical. Also his eating antics remain and are hysterical! With Matthew Lillard adding just as much humour!
Shaggy... Matthew Lillard plays Shaggy and has done a damn good job too! His voice is spot on, he looks identical and is one of the funniest guys around! I heard that Mike Myers was originally set to play Shaggy but he dropped out, well good! Myers is great in the Austin Powers films but in Scooby-Doo? I don't think so. Lillard and Scooby have great chemistry to say that Scooby wasn't actually there and was added later! It takes some talent to be able to do what Lillard and crew have done and they've done great. If there's a sequal, Matthew Lillard better be in it!
Daphne... Sarah Michelle Gellar IS Daphne and brings a new feisty element to the character. She even kicks ass in the finale! Bringin' some Buffy moves with an extra kick of fury! She also looks great in her many outfits!!! I always liked Daphne, and for one of my favourite actresses to play her...well it was a real treat!
Fred... Freddie Prinze Jr. is a good choice as the leader of the group and I couldn't imagine anyone else playing him, he also brings a more funny element that the cartoon version may have lacked a little. While not a central as Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne, Fred is still a good character!
Velma... Not having seen Linda Cardellini in many programs before, I was pleasantly pleased with how good she is at playing Velma. I think she's definatly a rising star and has been given a great oppurtunity in this movie! Jinkies!
Scooby-Doo has an excellent cast, who don't dissapoint and bring laughs through the entire duration. I just hope there will be a sequal, starring the same cast and that there won't be a long wait! A great movie that I can't wait to own!
9 and a half Scooby-Snacks out of ten! (would have been ten if it were slightly longer).
Crazy Taxi (1999)
2nd game I got for PS2 and it's great!
This game rocks! This game is very fun, veryyyyyyyy fast, quite exausting at times and generally a great buy! You need skill to play the game, that's a fact, but It's really easy to pick up after a few hours of playing! I've only owned it two days and I'm hooked! It's CRAZY. You can drive under water, jump bridges, weave through traffic and lots more. Also the city is very detailed and looks exactly like San Fransisco, giving a great feel to the game! You simply must get this game. You wont regret it! I didn't!
8 crazy points out of 10!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fainaru fantajî VIII (1999)
Fantastic adventure!
This is probably the most beautiful, involving game I've ever had the fortune to play! The areas look magnificent, the characters are extremely likeable and colorful and the fight scenes are excellent! The plot is very imaginative and clever, making you become absorbed in this spectacular game. Now, I've said it once and this matter still troubles me...why wasn't the movie as good? The movie should have come up with as good a plot as this and should have beautiful sets with real cast members surrounded by brilliant special effects and monsters. But instead we got a good, yet dissapointing movie adaptation. Oh well...I still have the proud memory of this great game! FF10 looks great! Final Fantasy 8 gets 10 out of 10 definatly!
Resident Evil (2002)
The best game to movie I've seen yet!
This is spot on! It links in with the games brilliantly, has great action, great adult theme, great acting and a great music score. Milla Jovovich is great and so are the other cast members giving their all throughout the film! It even has a decent plot which other video game movies have lacked in the past (ie.Tomb Raider). This is definetly better than Tomb Raider (which I still loved!) and a whole lot better than Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (which was...ok). I really hope they make a sequel because they've left the movie at such a cool cliffhanger!! I only wish they'd have made as much effort with Final Fantasy. I can't wait to buy RES-EVIL on DVD and enjoy it even more! 10 out of 10!
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001)
Good, but not perfect.
Ok, this is a decent film. The graphics are really good and sometimes you do think the people look very realistic. However this movie is NOT as good as the games. I have only played Final Fantasy 8 but that was enough for me to know that this could have been a lot better. I wanted a beautiful, colorful world where there was lots of action and real cast members on screen. If they do make another FF Movie then thats what it should definetly be like! This isn't a bad movie though, it just dosen't deliver as much as the games.
Dude, Where's My Car? (2000)
I love this film!
This made me laugh so much! Now the reason I rented this was because Seann William Scott was in it and I found him really funny in Road Trip and he dosent dissapoint in DUDE either. Also Ashton Kutcher is very funny too. Im a big fan of THAT 70s SHOW. I think it could have been a little longer but apart from the length its rib bursting action to the very end! Now I dont give a crap what the critics say this is supposed to be a comedy and it succeeds so give the film a break, OK. I cant see them making a sequel but hopefully AMERICAN PIE 3 will be good (it needs to have Stifler in it though!) 7 out of 10!

FreakyLinks (2000)
Excellent show
This is a great show and I just started watching it a while ago. The stories are great, the actors are great and from the reviews ive just read ive found out that the shows been cancelled in America. What the hell!? This show rocks! It shouldn't have been cancelled! Even here in England it has a rubbish timeslot of 9.00pm on a Friday. These channels should clean up there mess and give shows as good as this an earlier slot! I really hoped Freakylinks would take off! Oh well at least the current series is available to watch. Great show : 8 out of 10!!
Jason X (2001)
Great Movie!
This was definatly a good addition to the series. After a while you would think: this is the 10th film when they gonna stop makin' them. But as usual this is as exciting and as gory as usual. Being a film fanatic and a huge fan of Friday the 13th series its very welcome from me. The last film Jason goes to hell: the final friday didnt live up to my expectations so well and this really makes me like the series a lot more! I REALLY hope they make another one if its as good as this! ****** 6 stars out of 10!
