Dynasty (2017)
Are the high reviews from bots?
The show is so ill-planned out its surprising that it has as many good reviews as it does. The number of plot-holes is hard to keep track of, so many scenes are downright cringey, and so much of the show is simply nonsensical. The plot is a tangled mess of clichés and predictable twists. It's like the writers threw every soap opera trope into a blender without bothering to create anything remotely original. The constant power struggles, backstabbing, and love triangles become tedious and uninspiring. It's as if the writers have run out of fresh ideas and are relying on tired plot devices to keep viewers engaged.
This so-called "drama" series is an absolute train wreck that manages to be simultaneously over-the-top and mind-numbingly dull. From the exaggerated performances to the convoluted plotlines, this show is a prime example of how not to create compelling television.
The characters are cardboard cutouts with all the depth of a kiddie pool. Every interaction feels forced, and the attempts at creating intricate family dynamics fall flat. The overacting is cringe-worthy, as if the cast is competing to see who can chew the most scenery. The melodramatic tone is so heavy-handed that it makes daytime soap operas seem like Shakespearean masterpieces.
And let's not forget the cringe-worthy dialogue. Dynasty seems to think that throwing in a few snarky one-liners and dramatic monologues will distract viewers from the lackluster storytelling. Spoiler alert: it doesn't. The attempts at wit come off as forced and artificial.

Visually, "Neon" is a feast for the eyes. The show's cinematography is nothing short of breathtaking, utilizing vibrant colors and innovative camera work to create a futuristic world that feels both awe-inspiring and unsettling. The attention to detail in set design and special effects enhances the overall immersive experience, transporting viewers to a captivating dystopian landscape.
The soundtrack of "Neon" is another noteworthy aspect of the series. The carefully curated music not only complements the visual aesthetics but also adds emotional depth to key moments.
