Game Over, Man! (2018)
So dumb
So dumb but I was thoroughly entertained. Loved all the references and cameos. Good watch if you just want to watch something silly, best to be stoned.
Baby Driver (2017)
True romance meets Cranck
Every decade a great film is made with the same general synopsis, think Wild at Heart and True Romance. Baby Driver is like that, but on crack. Fast paced, action packed and with an incredible soundtrack. Enjoyed every minute of it.
Vikings: Valhalla (2022)
Ouch
Can't understand how this can be so bad! Vikings was good enough, there's plenty of budget, great music, great costumes, should be at least entertaining, but tis a total cringe fest.
School of Chocolate (2021)
Refreshing take on competition based reality tv
The format is fresh yet comforting, it has a very pleasant pace with a genuine likeable host. There's is no unnecessarily drama, no flashy decor, no crazy plot twist, no celebrity guest judges, it's just all very sound and enjoyable.
Lunatics (2019)
Just go with it
Took a little while to get into, felt like a weird ego trip for someone to play all the main roles, but you cannot help but fall in love with each and every one of these wonderful people. It was a wonderful experience.
Zoo (2015)
Oh no
This one keeps popping up as a suggestion, so I finally gave in. I laughed throughout the first "Africa" scene, it's just all so stupid and the editing of the animal footage which should make the whole thing more scary and realistic is just so poorly done you cannot help but laugh. If it turns out Exotic Joe wrote and remotely directed this show I would not be surprised.
Have a drink, have a laugh, easy watch, but you will get annoyed once the gag wears off.
Katla (2021)
A classic feel bad
But you keep watching. It's gripping and doomy and beautiful, but also really unpleasant to watch, no redeeming characters, nothing about it is fun. I don't mind a slow burn, especially a Scandinavian one. I just couldn't love this one.
Some scenes are pretty upsetting and the series could use a few more trigger warnings.
The Real Housewives of New York City (2008)
The best kind of garbage
The women you love to hate, I've rarely laughed harder in my life when one of them fell drunkenly in a bush, after which she tripped and fell off a platform, while her friend commented "well you should have gone this way". But for all it's hysterics and pettiness, the show is sexually liberating and feministic in its own beautifully shallow way.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
The epitome of anticlimactic
Was sucked into the setdesign, acting and atmosphere for almost two hours, wanting to find out where it all went, but it went nowhere. It wasn't even a plottwist because there was no plot.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
Nice enough, unless you like chess.
I got excited to see female chess players represented in pop culture, but my expectations were not met unfortunately. It's a visually beautiful yet cheesy drama series, and that's all to it really. It could have been about ice skating and it would not have changed the show or the story line. The serie implies professional chess players are good looking rock stars who take an average of three seconds to make a move in a tournament. If you have even been to a chess tournament, as a player or spectator, this is not the show for you.
