Stowaway (2021)
Acting and visuals great, writing awful
We the viewers are too smart for massive plot holes....
We have brilliant minds on board but none ask the question, who bolted him in? Tell headquarters to review the hundreds of cameras that would have filmed the launch.
He is an engineer working on the vehicle that he has no idea about? At least let him look at the faulty part.
And I had to stop myself fast forwarding the oxygen tank collection.
One of the smartest people in the world can't tie a knot to secure the tank? Maybe should have done space walk and knot practice in training.
Started well, ended bored.
Lenox Hill (2020)
Netflix surf turned into a binge watch
I don't watch any hospital TV shows like ER or greys anatomy, so I don't generally give Dr shows a chance. I was surfing Netflix and stopped on it, watched short scene, thought I would watch 10mins, binged the entire series. Great people doing great work. Made me laugh, cry and reflect.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
CGI was great
I managed to sit through it, I did have to check time remaining a few times.
I thought the cgi and acting was great, story not so much.
A few things that bothered me....
Everyone is evacuating, where to? Why? how?
Massive spacecraft with skeleton crew, one of which hasn't done a space walk ever, 2yr mission maybe should have a walk involved.
Finally get in contact with earth..... no scientific questions asked or answered, they receive one personal video from a wife saying kids are sick, evacuating, love ya bye...
2 mins of new planet which looks great, 1/2 the movie is Disney on ice with howling winds.
Away (2020)
I wanted a good sci fi
Positive straight up is great acting by all.
Like others have said, just another drama show but half the setting is in space.
Crew that trained together for 2 yrs are all whining and distrustful of each other getting aboard the ship, and let's wait until we are aboard to call loved ones about lose ends and apologies, mum leaves for space so of course the daughter's school grades drop and she starts dating a boy with a motorbike haha, instant video calls months away from earth but they go on a space walk and they only packed the 6ft long tether haha 1/2 way through and I'm getting bored, unlikely to finish season 1.
I'm stuck at home in Covid lockdown doing constant zoom calls with tears, I needed something to watch..... turns out this show is full of zoom calls and tears too
Australien skies (2015)
Same footage every year
With the world now having billions of people with HD cameras and telescopes we still see footage similar to decades ago, you see all their cameras and TRIPODS but all the footage is at full zoom and shaking like its filmed whilst riding a motorbike on a motocross track. Most of the clips a school class could replicate with a drone, tape, roll of tinfoil and led light.
Guy says he has seen hundreds..... after a couple you would stick a tripod outside with telescope and camera attached.
I want to believe, guess I will have to wait.
Love, Death & Robots: Suits (2019)
Enjoyed this ep, would make a good game
Found it quite entertaining, something different that I wouldn't normally watch.
I agree with others that it is a great idea for a game, not a lame tablet game called mech farmer but a full AAA title, then I'd buy the game.
