Song Exploder (2020)
A peek at musical genius
I know amazingly little about the process of making music. Basically, it's just waaaaay over my head, which is kind of sad really. The cool thing about this Netflix series is that it gives what feels like a peek inside genius musicians. Regardless of where you fall on the music creativity scale, you should watch this series.
Living Undocumented (2019)
Worth every minute
I want to address all the haters on here before I give an ACTUAL review. It's clear that many of you either didn't actually watch the series or you just don't comprehend the majority of the issues these people have been through. Also, if even a quarter of undocumented adults were to leave the US, our economy will utterly collapse. This isn't debatable.
Now, moving along, I found that the narrative was well thought-out and handled skillfully. The point of almost any documentary is to inform and/or educate, and this documentary didn't disappoint in that area. It certainly educated me on some issues I was not aware of previously. I also felt the camera work was exceptional, as was the editing. I highly recommend this series.
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World: Pilot (2017)
Fun, but I feel like it's kinda been done before
I saw the previews for this show and thought it looked cute, so I watched the pilot. I found myself feeling like this reminded me of "Oh God" with George Burns, although the humor wasn't quite as good, but that's to be expected being that George Burns was a stellar comedian. Another reviewer wrote that this show is attempting to appeal to religious people. I have to disagree. First of all, I enjoyed it and I'm not religious in any way, shape, or form. In addition, from what I can tell, the show lacks the sappiness of traditional "God" shows (like "Saved by an Angel," or whatever it was called), at least so far.
As far as the acting goes, it's quite good. Everyone on the show clearly knows what they're doing.
The only criticism I really have is that I still don't completely understand what Kevin's role is supposed to be, but maybe that's intentional.
All in all, I highly recommend that you give it a try.
