Obliterated (2023)
Sooo bad ! It was like watching a car wreck!
Another reviewer put it well - it was god awful.
I watched a few episodes for the good looking people with impressive bodies while hoping it would improve. It didn't and actually got progressively worse. Makes sense that there are no well known actors in it although the cast did ok considering the horrible story/script. Ya gotta know it's bad when I was glad the Tech Chick was shot and disappointed when C Thomas Howell's character (the only actor I recognized) woke from his drug induced coma. Couldn't stand it anymore and gave up during Ep 5. My recommendation - Don't waste your time. I can't get that time back but luckily I fell asleep during some of them. Too bad the obnoxious bimbo in charge didn't get shot. Ugh.
Frasier (2023)
Hater Critics are Wrong
The hater critics are wrong again, as usual. I loved the original Frasier and I love this new reboot as well! I could do without the laugh track but other than that, I like most of the new characters and Grammer's Frasier is the same as ever. He needs a Niles though, and the character of Niles' son, David doesn't get the job done. It may be the writing, but I tend to think its also the actor who isn't right for the part which is too slapstick/physical. But OMG! The Mamma Mia reference cracked me up. I look forward to future episodes and this is my reason for keeping the Paramount+ subscription I was about to cancel. Give it a try.
Justified: City Primeval: Backstabbers (2023)
Hoping it improves . . .
Now that the I'll-behaved, self-centered teen character Willa was put on a plane and sent back to her mother in FL where she belongs. No reflection on Timothy Olyphant's daughter, who plays the infuriating character very well. Mainly I was unhappy with Raylan Givens' weak responses in dealing with her. IMO, It was out of character for the previously strong and forthright Marshall. Why was he so concerned that SHE was mad at him when HE should have been mad at HER for leaving the hotel and taking the murderer's side and not doing anything he asked her to do (which were for her own safety).
I wanted to like this new series as I did the original Justified, but couldn't get past my annoyance with Willa and the over-the-top crazy of the Clem character who is basically a Fast & Furious type caricature of a bad guy. Terrible writing.
🤞🏼Fingers crossed that it improves.
Troppo (2022)
Really good mystery/drama in an Aussie setting
Like the plot. Liked all the characters and the terrific actors, especially Thomas Jane. Other reviewers complaints about his American accent crack me up considering he is very much an American and THAT is how he sounds, period. Hoping for another Series/Season.
When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas Part 1 (2021)
Thank you GAC. Lori is back & When Hope Calls is fun
I really like GAC network. It's what Hallmark used to be before it went woke and replaced simple holiday happy movies and shows with a progressive "message". I watch these movies and shows to escape real life for a bit. And welcome back to Lori Laughlin who got a raw deal. I look forward to When Hope Calls and more traditional happily-ever-after movies.
A Clüsterfünke Christmas (2021)
This was a real hoot!
As a long time devotee of Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies I LOVED this spoof of every Christmas rom-com movie ever and all the woke tropes in them. I laughed out loud many times. Thank you Rachel and Ana.
tick, tick...BOOM! (2021)
Andrew Garfield was amazing
I was pleasantly delighted at how much I liked the movie overall and how well LMM did as a first time director. But who knew Andrew Garfield was not only a very good actor but a terrific singer with a voice perfect for musical theater. My favorite song was "Sunday" with all the famous Broadway stars; Renee, Bernadette, Joel, Bebe, Brian, Chita and on and on.
Cinderella (2021)
I don't get all the haters ??
Really? Three generations of us watched it together, twice! Grandmother, mother, and two grand daughters all loved it. Costumes were wonderful. Choreography was great. And the music an excellent combination of classic hits and new music. Grand daughters especially loved Camilla Cabello's song One in a Million. Haters need to stop taking themselves so seriously.
Lucifer: Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam (2021)
I totally LOVE it when Tom sings!! Great episode
👏🏻😍This was even better because if the dancing and production number with everyone. Like the best episode of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. I hope they do this again sometime. I am definitely bookmarking this episode.
Resident Alien (2021)
Loved this show. What a hoot!
Alan Tudyk is the best. I like Sci fi as a general rule but add "fish out of water" storyline and Tudyk's brilliant comedic timing makes it very fun to watch. Recommended.
Grey's Anatomy: Someone Saved My Life Tonight (2021)
Such a bad season I quit several episodes ago -
And after checking back in for the Season Finale I hoped it had improved. I didn't. I'm done for good. Ugh.
Chicago P.D.: The Other Side (2021)
FINALLY! Voight & Rusek acting like real people!
Happy the woke storyline that has ruined most of the other shows I used to watch and almost took this one down too, was finally shown to be the crap & nonsense it is when dealing with real thugs who traffic kids and kill people without remorse. I was up and cheering for Rusek when he told Atwater the hard truths he refused to face. It's like those clueless diplomats who actually believed the US could/should negotiate and reason with AlQuaeda fighters who followed no rules and bragged about beheading people.
Hailey was annoying in this episode given some of the rules she's been happy to break in the past episodes. She knew what Voight was up to and if she had a problem with it she should have just stayed away and stfu. She was forced to do what needed to be done in the end but after the third warning she gave the murdering scum I was out of my chair and yelling 'pull the damn trigger, Bimbo.'
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Rule 91 (2021)
Ugh! NCIS/CBS producers & writers have failed
First they STUPIDLY CANCELED my favorite NCIS NOLA and then this ANNOYING episode where we lose Ellie, Gibbs is still gone, and I keep wishing Katrina Law would go back to Hawaii. Maybe she will move to the new Hawaii spin off that I will not be watching.
Pity. I was looking forward to the Torres/Bishop story line. Silly me. Probably gonna get more of the new woke storylines that have ruined and driven me away from most of my other favorite network shows. Thank goodness for Netflix.
The Blacklist (2013)
Used to be a big fan - Keen needs to GO!
I never missed this show season after season but it started downhill with the addition of Keen's mother and hit bottom this season. Watched the May 30, 2021 episode hoping it would redeem itself but found myself wishing that plastic bag wasn't taken off Keen's head. Just kill her off already, and take that sappy, unprofessional Ressler with her.
NCIS: New Orleans (2014)
2021 -Where Did NCIS:NO Go? Woke nonsense.
So frustrating. From its beginning this has been my favorite of the NCIS shows. I like Scott Bakula and love NOLA but CBS must have fired it's writer because these woke storylines and intentionally diverse cast are pretty awful. The couple of good original characters left are behaving out of character. I'm sad to see it go with cancellation but it's time.
Yes Day (2021)
I HATED this freakin' movie
I gave it two stars instead of one because I normally like Jennifer Garner in everything she is in, but not this. The kids are undisciplined, especially the older daughter and the wimpy parents abdicate their responsibility as parents because the kids complained to a couple of teachers, who criticized the parents. Duh, good parents do the right thing regardless of other peoples' opinions. That 15 yr old lied and was IN NO WAY MATURE ENOUGH TO GO TO THAT CONCERT ALONE. The mom was right from the beginning and needed to stand her ground. Ugh. My 8 year old grand daughter thinks this damn movie shows that everything will be ok in the end! No, no it won't.
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020)
What is wrong with all the haters? It's lovely
Some people just have to spew hate but don't believe them. This is a WONDERFUL ADDITION to my list of 'watch every year' holiday movies with LOVELY ORIGINAL MUSIC and fun dancing. The cast's musical talent is off the charts and I love that it shows little girls as brilliant,
and mathematical. I am so happy for my two young grand-daughters to have Journey to identify with.
Future World (2018)
Wow. This really WAS as bad as the reviews said.
Thank goodness I watched it for free on FXM channel. I woulda felt ripped off if I'd paid to rent it. I watched 30 mins of it and want that half hour of my life back. It has a decent cast so badly used it boggles a the mind
Cursed (2020)
I tried several episodes but it never got better
I tried watching 5 episodes but had to stop. I hoped it would improve but no such luck. Sadly, I like many of the actors but they were either miscast or horribly written. I'm a big fan of this type of fantasy and of the classic Arthurian legend but really, just don't bother.
Perry Mason (2020)
Not Perry Mason but good period piece
It was wrong of HBO and the producers to use the name to suck people in. It's a well done period piece but THEY ONLY USED THE NAME -ITS NOT PERRY MASON. I really didn't care because it was interesting to watch I just hated the deception to get me there. THRY SHOULD HAVE JUST NAMED IT SOMETHING NEW. Even PAUL DRAKE would have been a better choice; at least he was a PI.
Shaft (2019)
This was NOT a political statement just good fun
Ignored all the self-righteous reviewers who forget that we are not interested in their moral outrage or political criticism. I viewed it for what it was. Just good fun watching a couple old school men who grew up in a very different time (like I did) having to deal with today's millennial man and his (often ridiculous) sensitivity to everything and everyone in our society of victims.
Siren (2018)
What trash! Done watching this
Are you kidding me? A threesome with a mermaid? I don't think a three-way is appropriate on most channels but definitely not on Freeform. I don't want to watch it and wouldn't want my kids or grandkids to think it's OK, which it isn't. Hollywood just keeps getting more and more out of bounds.
The Good Cop (2018)
OMG I totally LOVE this show !!
Tony Danza and Josh Groban are the perfect foils for each other. I didn't expect to even like it and I ended up binging the whole thing. It's predicable, which I prefer. And there's even singing & dancing. So much better than the typical downers that most cop shows are. Thank you Netflix.
Magnum P.I. (2018)
I could buy Jay as a new Magnum but Higgins !
I don't mind all the other new characters and Jay is OK as Magnum but I detest the woman Higgins character. Her snotty attitude is so off-putting that I was done watching by the first 10 minutes of the second episode. I don't know if it's the actress or the lousy writing but it seems the new producers just never watched Magnum - the good one I never missed. Real Higgins was not nasty, he was long suffering, kind of indulgent, and helpful when Magnum needed him to be. This Higgins chick is just unpleasant and uncomfortable to watch because I keep wanting him to tell her to get stuffed and call Robin Masters directly himself. A pity. I was looking forward to THIS remake.
Rise (2018)
I was hoping to love this - the cast kids are great but. . .
I'm a big theater fan and attend my community's HS productions, even with no kids in HS. Big broadway fan as well as I've attended between 5 and 7 shows each year for the past several years. And yet, of those 40+ shows, Spring Awakening was one of two I walked out on. Tony awards or not, it's trash. I did not enjoy it in the least and I agree with the parents on the show who don't want it in their school or their kids performing in it. A pity, because had it centered on any other show, I would love this and the highly talented kids in the cast.
