It's about grief loss and not belonging. The people she met along the way, their stories that maybe puts things into perspective. What's important is not stuff. At the end of the film - It's dedicated to the ones who had to depart. See you down the road.

Great cast but bewildered by the story.

The experience of watching this movie felt like a dream/nightmare after waking up wondering in fact what was it all about. I had hoped to 'get it' or understand it. I wouldn't watch it again to find out!
Would I recommend it? Probably not.

A Rainy Day in New York

Superb Woody

You know it's a Woody Allen Film by this quote from the Film A Rainy Day in New York. "One thing about New York City. You are here or you are nowhere. You cannot achieve another level of anxiety, hostility or paranoia anywhere else".
Underwhelmed

I like to walk away from a movie wanting to have something to talk about but this didn't do it for me. To say QT worked on the screen play for five years was quite astonishing.
There wasn't much of a plot going on here, a two hour ride of pretty boring cinema then 45 mins of a more pacy ride. Brad Pitt was excellent and the cinematography was good. I left the cinema looking at the faces of the audience who looked bewildered and quite underwhelmed.

Warning: Spoilers
I thought the opening to this film was a bit suss, the whole world lost electricity for 12 seconds and wiped our memory of the Beatles, Coca Cola, Harry Potter, Oasis and Cigarettes! Shame it didn't get rid of Brexit and Donald Trump at the same time. Not sure if it's Richard Curtis finest works but it is watchable. Adding John Lennon at the end living on a beach was a nice touch.
