Old Man (2022)
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
This is the worst movie I've seen in a long, long time. What is very hard for me to understand is how an actor like Stephen Lang decided to be part of it.
The movie is slow, very slow...and boring.
When I finally saw where it was going, it was too late. At least I was able to rescue some minutes of my life by fast-forwarding it until the very end.
It's one of those movies where nothing is what it seems, and then they apparently decided to patch an ending that goes nowhere.
I can't find any redeeming qualities to it. Maybe Stephen Lang's acting. But it is not enough. A movie so BAD doesn't deserve any stars.
Run for your life, and watch something else!
Le patient (2022)
Remake of "The Hypnotist"
This movie is loosely based on the film "The Hypnotist" (Hynotisoren) from 2012, and starring Mikael Pernsbrant. Much better film. It's a thriller, it has mystery, and in my opinion, a much better plot. Skip this one and try to watch The Hypnotist.
The original is way more interesting, moves at a faster pace, and it doesn't try to be so "artistic". Everything is more clear, for lack of a better word. Explanations about what happened make sense, and it has a better resolution.
On top of that, it was directed by Swedish director Lasse Hallstrom, so you know the quality is going to be superior.
The Little Things (2021)
Very different movie...but very good.
I agree with rwallace-63854. He makes an excellent point: why did the freak have a key to a lock for a place so far away? Did he have the key to go there and fly a kite? I would say he buried corpses there, just in a different location. And maybe he kept his "souvenirs" in a box, also buried over there.
For the ones saying Deke could have been the killer. Here we have a detective who accidentally kills an innocent girl, and because of that, he gets traumatized, has a heart attack, and goes back to being a regular cop. And there are people thinking he is a serial killer who, by definition, kills innocent people on a regular basis? Don't think so.
The Old Guard (2020)
Original concept
I really enjoyed this movie. So much, that I was hoping for a sequel, and apparently, they're going to do it. Yes, it is violent, but well done, and with good performances.
